Firefox crashes upon hitting the back button while looking at email in Outlook.

When I am looking at my email I crash almost every other time I hit the back button trying to go back to my list of emails on Outlook. I don't crash when hitting the back button on any other sites that I recall.

If you have submitted crash reports then please post the IDs of one or more recent crash reports that have a "bp-" prefix:

    In Firefox 23 versions and later the keyword.URL pref is no longer supported and it is no longer possible to specify the search engine for the location bar via the keyword.URL pref.<br />
    The search engine that is used on the location bar and on the about:home page is the search engine that is selected in the search Bar on the Navigation Toolbar.<br />
    Current Firefox versions do not update the about:home home page until you refresh the page (future versions will do this automatically without a refresh) and that is what happens if you use the Back key.
    You can install the Keyword Search extension to specify with search engine to use for the location bar and which search engine to use for the about:home page via the Options/Preferences windows of this extension, accessible via the about:addons page.

  • Why can't I get to the previous page by hitting the back button just once?

    Hi there.My problem is that when I try to go back to the previous page(s) and hit the back button nothing happens.I have to hit it twice or triple to force action.This is happening after the latest update of mozilla.I know that in previous mozilla versions you had to double-click to go back to previous pages, but in the latest versions you could go back by just one click(double-clicking remained as a choice for the romantic...).Is it a matter of set up?Please answer cause it's really annoying...

    See http://kb.mozillazine.org/Locked_or_damaged_places.sqlite
    Also, Can you try to start Firefox in Safe Mode to see if Firefox works properly with no error? You can start Firefox in Safe Mode below:
    *'''Windows/Mac''': Go to Help > Restart with add-ons disabled
    *'''Linux''': Run ''firefox -safe-mode'' in the Terminal/Konsole
    If Firefox opens up fine with no problems, it's probably one of your extensions that's causing the issue. You can re-enable your add-ons one by one until you find the one that causes the issue upon being re-enabled.

  • How do i move the reload page button in firefox OSX to beside the back button where it was before i updated.

    how do i move the reload page button in firefox OSX to beside the back button where it was before i updated.
    i know there is a classic theme addon for windows but i need a fix for osx...its very frustrating when you update and things like this change and cant be customized back to the way we are used to using the browser. its counter intuitive to have the refresh page button so far away from the back and home buttons.

    Is Classic Theme Restorer only for Windows? I thought it worked on Mac, too. Some of the pre-selected interface items like the Application Button may match old Windows versions and you may need to deselect those in its Settings dialog.
    To access that dialog, you can use the Add-ons page. Either:
    * Command+Shift+a
    * "3-bar" menu button (or Tools menu) > Add-ons
    In the left column, click Extensions, the on the right side, look for the Options button below Classic Theme Restorer.

    i purchased a year of adobe cc today. The screen came up to tell me it was processing my payment, not to hit the "back" button or refresh the page as it could take a few minutes. That was 7 hours ago. I contacted the help chat department and was told it would take 24 hours to process. Is this normal?? Why would the screen tell me "a few minutes" if it's actually 24 hours? Has anyone else had this problem? I am so tempted to just refresh the page and try my luck with my credit card canceling a second payment should it happen. THAT might be faster.

  • Safari 6 is slow when hitting the back button

    I notice that on Moutain Lion Safari appears quite slow when I hit the back button.
    Say I'm on some news site, click on a story but then want to go back after 10 seconds, it appears as if it's loading the whole site where I came from again.
    Is there some setting to change this?
    Also with version 6, it appears that Safari is really waiting for each and every object to be finished before displaying anything.
    I think this kind of was always the case with Safari, but before on Safari 5, it felt much quicker here and I'd appreciate some rendering before every image is loaded.

    Same here. After clicking the BACK button in Safari I get old copies. I am using Ipad 16GB wifi-only.
    Issue started with IOS5. It worked fine before.
    When the old page is shown, a refresh helps as workaround. Untill Applie fixes it.

  • How to prevent going back to the previous page by hitting the Back button ?

    In the html code I generate from my servlet, I have the following :
    <Html>
    <Head>
    <Title>Cox Part Time Benefit App Login Page</Title>
    <Meta http-equiv="Pragma" content="no-cache">
    <!-- Pragma content set to no-cache tells the browser not to cache the page. This may or may not work in IE -->
    <Meta http-equiv="expires" content="0">
    <!-- Setting the page to expire at 0 means the page is immediately expired. Any vales less then one will
    set the page to expire some time in past and not be cached. This may not work with Navigator -->
    <Meta http-equiv="Cache-Control" content="no-cache">
    <!-- This directive indicates cached information should not be used and instead requests should be forwarded
    to the origin server. This directive has the same semantics as the PRAGMA:NO-CACHE -->
    </Head>
    I hope it can prevent user from going back to the previous page by hitting the Back button on the browser, but it doesn't, what's the right way to do it ?
    Frank

    I think I'm half way now, but something is missing. I have the following filter :
    import java.io.*;
    import javax.servlet.*;
    import javax.servlet.http.*;
    import java.util.*;
    public class ResponseHeaderFilter implements Filter
      FilterConfig fc;
      public void doFilter(ServletRequest req,ServletResponse res,FilterChain chain) throws IOException,ServletException
        HttpServletResponse response=(HttpServletResponse)res;
        for (Enumeration e=fc.getInitParameterNames();e.hasMoreElements();)        // Set the provided HTTP response parameters
          String headerName=(String)e.nextElement();
          response.addHeader(headerName,fc.getInitParameter(headerName));
        chain.doFilter(req,response);                                              // Pass the request/response on
      public void init(FilterConfig filterConfig)
        this.fc=filterConfig;
      public void destroy()
        this.fc=null;
    }And in my web.xml, I have something like this :
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
    <web-app version="2.5" xmlns="http://java.sun.com/xml/ns/javaee" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xsi:schemaLocation="http://java.sun.com/xml/ns/javaee http://java.sun.com/xml/ns/javaee/web-app_2_5.xsd">

      </servlet-mapping>
      <session-config>
      </session-config>
      <welcome-file-list>
      </welcome-file-list>
    <resource-ref>
    </resource-ref>
    <filter>
      <filter-name>ResponseHeaderFilter</filter-name>
      <filter-class>ResponseHeaderFilter</filter-class>
      <init-param>
        <param-name>Cache-Control</param-name>
        <param-value>private,no-cache,no-store</param-value>
       </init-param>
      <init-param>
        <param-name>Pragma</param-name>
        <param-value>no-cache</param-value>
       </init-param>
      <init-param>
        <param-name>expires</param-name>
        <param-value>0</param-value>
       </init-param>
    </filter>
    </web-app>I rebuilt the project and ran it, and yet, I can still hit the "Back" button and get to previous page, what am I missing ? Is what I've done in the web.xml file enough to set it up, or do I need to call ResponseHeaderFilter somewhere in my servlet in order to use it ?

  • Firefox used to have an option on the navigation bar next to the back/forward buttons that showed navigation history - I could go back ten screens w/o hitting the back button ten times. Does the new version have this feature? If so, how do I enable it?

    It was a triangle button that provided a drop-down menu of my most recent navigation history within a site. Very convenient, esp for slide shows if I wanted to return to a slide that was 10-12 slides back.

    Firefox still has this feature, you just click and hold the back button or the forward button, depending on whether you want to go back or forward.

  • Instead of hitting the "back" button on the toolbar, where is the drop down to go back 2-3 pages?

    I used to be able to go back a few pages at a time until the latest upgrade. Now, if I click the "back" button on the toolbar I can only go back 1 page at a time. This doesn't always work and I have to go back to my original starting point which could be 10-15 click back ... is there anyway to get the option to go back multiple pages like before or can I just not use certain web pages anymore?
    thank you!

    Use this to open the tab history list:
    * Right click on the Back or Forward button
    * Hold down the left mouse button on the enabled Back or Forward button until the list opens
    You can look at this extension:
    * Backward Forward History Dropdown: https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/backforedrop/

  • When I hit the back button to return to a previous page...

    ...I get the dialog box: Confirm: Firefox must send information that will repeat any action (such as a search or order confirmation) that was performed earlier. Resend or Cancel, Is there any way to disable this very annoying feature (for me anyway),
    I know what I want to do and this annoys the hell out of me.

    You get an alert about resending POST data if you go back to a page or refresh a page that was previously requested from the server by submitting form data via a (hidden) POST form.<br />
    Firefox can only make sure to get the same page by resending that POST form.<br />
    Firefox doesn't know what that form data means, so Firefox asks for confirmation before resending that form data as such an action can cause you to repeat an action and buy another item or post a message another time.<br />
    A way to prevent that pop-up is not to use the Back button, but to open links from a page that was requested from a server by sending a POST form in a new tab (window) with a middle-click or a Ctrl + left-click.<br />
    Then you can close that tab or window to go back.<br />

  • I have to hit the back button twice because the history seems to have duplicated a page.

    After clicking on a link to another site I have to click the back button twice in order to return to the first page. If I hold down the back button instead, the history shows that somehow an extra click has shown up.

    I now realize it seems confined to a particular link from My.Yahoo page and therefore must not be a firefox issue.

  • Do I really have to hit the back button five times now in order to go back five pages?

    Before I downloaded the new version, there was a drop-down menu next to the back and forward buttons showing the last few pages downloaded. Now it's gone and it's really tedious to keep pushing the back button instead of going straight to the previous page of my choice.

    It seems the designers wanted to eliminate anything that wasn't ''absolutely necessary''. You can access the list of earlier sites by right-clicking the button or by clicking and holding the button. But if you prefer to have a separate drop-down, see the above add-on.

  • The back button doesn't work for microsoft outlook

    the back button for microsoft outlook web access doesn't work. other web pages are fine

    To respond to your comments first of all, the Bookmarks toolbar has been removed in Firefox 4.0
    The back button should work as it normally does, but you can also right click it and select it from the list.
    To revert to a previous version of Firefox, download v3.6.16 from here: [http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all-older.html Download Firefox v3.6.16]
    Then uninstall Mozilla Firefox 4.0 choosing to keep your bookmarks, customizations etc.
    Finally run the Firefox installation file you downloaded earlier.

  • A tab continuously pops up when I hit the back button, or type in a new url? Is there a fix for this?

    It goes to different websites, yet all have the same template. I've tried deleting Firefox and reinstalling. I've placed my PC in safe mode and hit the system restore. I've used multiple anti-viruses and malware software and nothing.
    It only happens in Firefox. My Chrome, Safari, and the terrible IE works perfect.

    Use one of these methods to open the tab history list and bypass the page with that gives the alert:
    * Right click on the Back or Forward button
    * Hold down the left mouse button on the enabled Back or Forward button until the list opens
    You can look at this extension:
    * Backward Forward History Dropdown: https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/backforedrop/
