Firefox crashes upon trying to start up; will NOT start

Can't even try "safe mode" because it simply will not open at all. If I download the program again, will I still have all my bookmarks, favorites, and saved stuff?? Thank you.

Problem first appeared about a week ago. On trying to start up firefox it crashes (most recent report id pasted below).
No pull downs available to try troubleshooting suggestions.
Removed firefox and tried to re-install but problem remains.
No problem starting up IE which I'm now having to use instead.

This is caused by [http://www.trusteer.com/product/trusteer-rapport Trusteer Rapport]. Try to disable it and see if that stops the crashing.
You can stop Rapport using Start Menu > Programs > Trusteer Rapport > Stop Rapport
You can ask their helpdesk when an updated version of their product will be made available or, if you don't need this software, uninstall it.

Firefox crashes when trying to start it

My firefox browser started to crash circa two days ago out of the blue. I can't remember to have installed a plugin or something the like on that day. When I try to start firefox it crashes 2 seconds later and with a lot of luck I can start it again in the safe mode. But most of the time, even then the browser crashes, which is very suspect. The Internet Explorer, on the other hand, works perfectly. But since I haven't used it for years, I'd like to stick to Mozilla.

Yes, Google's set as my home page. Today the issues disappear when I work in Firefox Safe Mode, which wasn't the case yesterday.
Anyway, I turnt off the hardware acceleration and now it works perfectly again :)
But could you explain what caused these problems? I mean I've been working with Firefox for years and never had this issue.

I have downloaded Firefox 6.. tried 7, and it will not connect once I attempt to open it initially. It comes up with blank boxes and notation states "waiting on firefox".. not sure what to do

I had an issue with firefox opening zygna games on facebook last week. I uninstalled firefox and reloaded it. Actually tried it last week a few times and today tried Firefox 7 and then Firefox 6, which i now have on computer. When it goes to open initially, the screens come up blank. There is a little popup that I believe asks if i should set firefox as main browser, however no dialogue in the box. The notation on my computer says "waiting for firefox" and it just sits there.

A possible cause is security software (firewall) that blocks or restricts Firefox or the plugin-container process without informing you, possibly after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program.
Remove all rules for Firefox from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full unrestricted access to internet for Firefox and the plugin-container process and the updater process.

I have one computer that crash every time I start Firefox. Ocassionally the firefox window will appear for less than a second and then the Crash Report Window shows up; most times it goes right to Crash Report Window. Then it is for some reason unable to send the crash repor; it keeps looping back to the crash report. I've checked my modem and router are operating correctly; I have another computer that's working fine. I've run scan for Trojans, viruses and still see the problem. Any help would be very much appreciated as I'm stuck at this point. For what it's worth, Internet Explorer has the same problem, crashing upon opening.

I have a similar problem to the question of Ryan Vaught, (Firefox crashes upon open - won't send crash report; crash report info summarized below [MY] Firefox version: prior one to 3.6.7 Operating System: Windows XP Provessional). Mine is a bit different tho. Firefox seems to be crashing and my internet crashes right with it. When it does this, it also takes out some Win32 system .exe files. I too have ran AVG (Full Coverage /Purchased one) and then updated to Viper (Sunbelt Software) and it comes up clean of any viruses, etc. Once it crashes and I close Firefox, the crash report request comes up. When I hit send, it says it cannot be sent with no additional information as to why. I just updated Firefox to 3.6.7 and sure hope this helps, but it almost always happens when I am playing games that use flash. I can send a screenshot if you need it and feel free to edit my question if need be. I've checked my Viper settings and can get to all the websites so far trying to rule it out. Deleted my internet set up and then added it back as a new connection (hope that made sense), so I don't know who to be asking this question of, but hoping you may know the answer why I can't send the crash report. Firefox crashes upon opening, and randomly - Windows XP.

What I'm experiencing is that FireFox crashes upon most start-ups. it also crashes randomly. Be it known, it has been doing this in safemode, too. It has been doing this before any plugins were installed, and it has been doing it since FireFox 12 or FireFox 13.
Oddly enough, my folder for where the crash reports SHOULD go is completely empty.

Try disabling graphics hardware acceleration. Since this feature was added to Firefox, it has gradually improved, but there still are a few glitches.
You might need to restart Firefox in order for this to take effect, so save all work first (e.g., mail you are composing, online documents you're editing, etc.).
Then perform these steps:
*Click the orange Firefox button at the top left, then select the "Options" button, or, if there is no Firefox button at the top, go to Tools > Options.
*In the Firefox options window click the ''Advanced'' tab, then select "General".
*In the settings list, you should find the ''Use hardware acceleration when available'' checkbox. Uncheck this checkbox.
*Now, restart Firefox and see if the problems persist.
Additionally, please check for updates for your graphics driver by following the steps mentioned in the following Knowledge base articles:

Firefox crashes when trying to print a certain page

I process orders placed on our web site. As soon as I updated to v6.0 and then V6.0.1 at a particular page when I need to print out invoices (and only on this page - I print two other pages as well during the processing) firefox crashes when trying to print all, print one page or print preview. It is not every single time but most times. I never had this problem in any earlier version.
It happened in safe mode as well.
If it wasn't for the group tabs which I love in v6 I would go back to v5.0 as it is quite inconvenient and costs me extra time to have this happen. I have to display each of the invoices individiually and print them which never causes a crash.

2007 Mac Book pro Shuts down at startup attempt. Tried reloading OSX and will not start up after that.

My Mac Book Pro started having issues. I tried to relaod the operating system and it worked for a moment. When I tried to do a time machine back up it failed.

did you try to do a Time Machine backup from your MacBook Pro, or a Time Machine restoration to it?
Are you trying to reload your current version of OS X (10.7.4, to judge from your signature), or are you trying to reload the version of Mac OS X that came on the grey installation DVDs that originally came with your MacBook Pro?

Help - Photoshop Elements 8 crashes when trying to start Organizer

Photoshop Elements 8 crashes when trying to start Organizer. Funny, that starting the Photoshop Editor is not a problem and works fine.
I deinstalled the software and then installed it again, but had no effect.
What can I do?

The Organizer preferences may have become corrupted, needing to be automatically re-built on a re-start.
Close Elements.
Click the Start Button and then your user name (in place of mine) and navigate to:
C: Users >> 99Jon >> AppData >> Roaming >> Adobe >> Elements Organizer >>8.0 >> Organizer
Delete the PSA file (with key symbol) and delete Status.dat
After deleting these two files re-start the program
AppData may be a hidden system file. See the link to reveal hidden files.

When trying to open Photoshop it crashes when
the display window is trying to open and the text:

is showing. Then it crashes never making it to

In case you have some scanner/printer etc installed in the machine it might be causing issue. Try launching with none of the devices attached and anti virus disabled.

Flash Builde 4 crashes when trying to start

on my work mahine we use FB 4. We have windows 7 and no one has experiened this issue - I have even tried re-installing - Flash builder 4 (and catalyst) just crash when trying to start I get the FlashBuilder.exe has stopped working everytime I try and start it up.
Ideas?

Document crashed in InDesign 5.5- it will not open

I have a doc that just crashed my ID5.5. It will not open, ID "does not respond" and I have to force quit. I cleaned out the preferences, I tried opening the file on another computer. Nothing works.

Somewhat surprisingly, I was able to convince it to keep trying... curiously, I'd bever thought to try exactly this approach, which was to fire up gdb and force stack frames to "return." (Gosh, I hope that's not a EULA violation).
I sent you a re-saved version of the file.
I would suggest in the future you should keep much better backups...Hope this was helpful.
