Firefox crashes when i try to do a search

Since I upgraded firefox I have been having search problems. If I have the firefox page open and type something in the google search box it takes me to the google search results but when I click on any of them firefox crashes. I get a black screen which says Firefox not responding at the top. I then get a message asking me if I want to send info automatically - which I have just done. I have to close Firefox and open it again. I get an apologetic message from Firefox telling me how embarrassd it is and asking if I would like to resume old session or start a new one. How can I clear up this problem. Is there some other add-on that needs to be updated. Please help

Firefox crashes when I try to watch a movie type youtube, has just installed nero and Nikon software on my computer. This began shortly after I installed my new CD burner with Nero 9 burning software, about the same time I also installlerade my new Nikon camera software ViewNX2, I ran Avira scan and Microsoft Egan virus scan and they say everything is good in it, he reported a few times, I ran Avira scan of your computer and Microsoft's own Virus Scanning and they say everything is good in it, he reported a few times, tried again now and the sound is heard all the way but the image is still, therefore gentle freezes, got no number on the bug report so I can not say that. Also ask your pardon for errors in language that may be present but hope you understand anyway!

  • Firefox crashes when i try to save or download

firefox crashes when i try to save or download and also if i try to go to option in tools

    Hey divyakarelia,
Have you tried starting Firefox in Safe Mode? Hold down "shift" while Firefox is starting up. If the crash doesn't happen in Safe Mode, you should read [[Troubleshooting extensions and themes]].
There is also a lot of useful stuff in the [[Firefox crashes]] Knowledge Base article. If you've recently upgraded, you might want to check out [https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/latest-firefox-issues#w_firefox-crashes-when-i-start-it this article] as well.
    Hopefully this helps!

  • Firefox crashes when I try to download a file

    Hi!
I run Firefox Nightly 8.0a1 (2011-07-08) on Arch Linux 64-bit with Gnome 3, and I'm having problem with crashes when I try to download files. This doesn't happen in the stable version of Firefox (5) which I also have installed on my computer.
It's possible to open the download manager as long as there are no entries in the download list. But if I start a download of something - the download manager opens with an entry (the current download) and Firefox disappears. It instantaneously vanishes from both the monitor and the process list.
I have tried to remove the downloads.sqlite file from my profile folder, but it didn't help.
I have also tried to rename my whole profile folder to something else, and then created a new, empty profile folder with the name the first one had. When I then started Firefox, it recreated all the default content to the profile folder, so I ended up with a clean, unmodified installation. But it still crashed when I tried to download files. So it doesn't seem to be a problem with the extensions or similar.
    Suggestions?

Downgrade to an older nightly that works for a week or so, then test again to see if the bug's still there. In the mean time, report the bug on Bugzilla if it hasn't already been. There's really nothing you can do about bugs in nightlies.
(A similar sort of bug that triggered 60 seconds after opening, every time, was what got me out of using nightlies as my main browser.)

My Firefox 4.0.1 crashes when I try to go to Tools>Get Add-ons. I don't have any add-ons installed on my Firefox, at all. My OS is Win7 64-bit. I've already tried Uninstall-Reinstalling Firefox but it didn't work either.

  • Firefox crashes when I try to open it.

Firefox 4 and 5 both crash when I try to open it. Sometimes the crash reporter comes up, sometimes the process simply stops. I have uninstalled firefox and installed version 3.6 which does work on my computer. I have tried all of the potential solutions listed on you support sites for this issue. While 4 or 5 are installed, the profile manager will give me the crash reporter so I was unable to test that with those versions as I was unable to access the manager.

  • Firefox crashes when I try to reset the master password using chrome://pippki/content/resetpassword.xul

    # Question
Firefox 3.6.10 on Windows 7 crashes when I try to reset the master password using chrome://pippki/content/resetpassword.xul. Is there an alternate way of resetting the master password?

You can delete the 2 files that contain password details, they will be re-created automatically. First open the profile folder, for details of how to find it see the [[profiles]] article. Now close Firefox and delete key3.db and signons.sqlite. If there are files called signons.txt, signons2.txt and signons3.txt you can delete those as well, they are from earlier versions of Firefox.

'''''''OOPS! Sent wrong crash report ID below is the correct one'''. ''''FF 8 was working for a few days after I upgraded to it and then it crashed and continues to crash as I try to start it. I tried deleting it and downloading it again, but that hasn't helped. It also crashes when I try to open it in safe mode. It seems like there is some corruption somewhere in whatever is kept after deleting FF that reappears when I download a new copy. I do not know where legacy data is kept! Below is the most recent ID number, though there are many more before it. This problem is on my wife's computer - an original dual core MacBook Pro (late 2006?) running OSX.5.8.

  • Why does Firefox crash when I try to view my Twitter page?

For the past week, almost every time I try to open a new tab to go to Twitter.com (or right-click on a link in a tweet), Firefox crashes on me. Today when I tried to go to Twitter, Firefox will only load the Twitter navigation bar and not the rest of the page. I have attempted to view my Twitter page multiple times.
I can view my Twitter page in IE, Google Chrome and Opera, but not Firefox, which is my preferred browser. Have there been any changes to Firefox in the last week that could have caused this?

You already posted some of the crash report links in another thread that you had created, so I'm going to lock this thread.

  • Firefox crashes when I try to use DataLoad, and I was able to use this program a month ago.

In the recent past I have been able to use a program called DATALOAD (shareware) to load data into Firefox web forms (specifically web based sales tax returns).
However, now every time I try it now Firefox crashes, so I am forced to use IE (which I hate). The last time I used Dataload was in April 2011 (for my quarterly tax returns).
On of the latest updates to Firefox must have a conflict with this program.
Can you please research to see what changed in Firefox to make it crash when using Dataload? I do not want to use IE if I do not have to.

Hmmm, That is very odd. What is the link you are using? Are you logged
    in to YouTube?

  • Why is firefox crashing when I try to compose/reply a new message?

I have recently been having a problem with my Macbook Pro.  When I open Firefox or Safari and try to compose a new message or reply to a message through my hotmail account, both browers crash.  I cleared my cache and cookies.  No change.  Any suggestions?

  • Firefox crashed when I try to download a binary file

In this instance it is IE8 which I am trying to download (for business purposes I need Activex controls). When I currently open IE it runs as a process rather than an application. I have tried to download IE8 and google's Chrome but Firefox crashes as soon as I try to save the Binary files.

Sorry you are having problems. Can you give an example preferably of some small publicly available file and the site you are trying to download it from ?
As a simple example of a download (ok it is a .png image file not not a .exe file) but can you try to download a copy of your avtar/icon, as used on these forums. In Windows one method is that you right click & should get an option save. <br/> Mine alongside uses the link
    * https://support.mozilla.com/media/uploads/avatars/avatar-257447.png
Are you able to download such an image, then see it in your download manager, and find it on your computer.
Once you have got Firefox to save your binary file you can use it. In the case of the .exe file you are trying to download that should be usable as intended with your Windows Operating System, the avatar also should be easily opened and viewed.
    P.S.
You could try installing the add-on https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/opendownload-10902/ if you wished to adapt Firefox to run .exe files instead of just save them.
