Firefox crashes when opening after upgrading to 6.0.2

After upgrading firefox to 6.0.2 firefox crashes upon opening. When I try to open firefox the "Mozilla Crash Reporter" opens up. I tried all the sugestions on the support page. None of these worked. It will open with the computer in safe mode. I can not find where to start firefox in safe mode after upgrading.
I can open it now after running firefox in compatibility mode for windows XP sp2. The problem with this is I have to accept permission everytime I open firefox. If I change user account control settings to not ask every time firefox crashes on opening again.

Firefox crashes when opening "Extras>Add-ons" (German user interface - I don't know what the according menu points are labeled in English).
The crash seems to be so severe that no crash ID is created. On every restart after a crash Firefox 4 is in offline mode and has to be switched back to online mode. If needed I could provide a screenshot of the error message shown when firefox crashes.
There were no problems on this machine running firefox 3.xx. The problems occurred after upgrading from firefox 3.6x to firefox 4.

Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of your add-ons is causing your problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes).
See [[Troubleshooting extensions and themes]] and [[Troubleshooting plugins]]

If it does work in Safe-mode then disable all your extensions and then try to find which is causing it by enabling one at a time until the problem reappears.
You can use "Disable all add-ons" on the [[Safe mode]] start window to disable all extensions.
• Firefox Crashes when opening -- Win 8.1

Hi,
About a month ago i wiped my laptop and upgraded from 7 to 8.1. Now when i try and use Firefox, it will open for 1-2 seconds, then crash. I had AVG, un-installed that and now use Avast. I also used Hitman Pro alert, and un-installed that to make sure -- cant figure it out for the life of me.
Crash ID: bp-bb0b77dd-fd37-4132-8883-31aac2140423
Thanks.

In case your Firefox program files have become corrupted somehow, you may also want to replace them. The following method does not involve uninstalling Firefox, just hiding the existing program folder and re-running the installer.
(1) Download a fresh installer from https://www.mozilla.org/firefox/all/ to a convenient location. (Scroll down to your preferred language.)
(2) Exit out of Firefox (if applicable).
(3) Rename the folder
C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox
to
C:\Program Files (x86)\OldFirefox
(4) Run the installer you downloaded in #1. It should automatically connect to your existing settings.
Any improvement in behavior?
Note: Some plugins may exist only in that OldFirefox folder. If something essential is missing, look in these folders:
* C:\Program Files (x86)\OldFirefox\Plugins
* C:\Program Files (x86)\OldFirefox\browser\plugins

• Firefox crashes on open after running Adobe flash

I need to run Adobe flash for a support site I use for work. There was a flash update and ever since the update firefox crashes immediately when I open it. If I uninstall firefox, uninstall flash, reboot my pc, re-install firefox, then firefox will run. Once I re-install flash and go to the support site I need to visit, firefox will then crash whenever I open it. I've noticed that if I don't uninstall firefox and flash but go into firefox after a reboot it stays up, but once I go to the support site that requries flash firefox will then crash whenever I start it. I've tried older versions of flash and firefox but the resutls are same. Anyone have any ideas to help? I use IE for the support site that requires flash and it works ok.

• Firefox will not open after upgrading to Firefox 3.6

As soon as a click on the browser's icon, I get a problem error message, saying firefox isn't able to connect to the internet. I'm not having this problem with internet explorer, so it isn't the connection. Also, it isn't the firewall; I tried that. I'm thinking it has something to do with the settings....but I'm at a loss! Please help D:
(It's saying it's an incompatable application)

I have the exact same problem. When I go to Gmail the page initially loads, but then will be redirected to the calendar page. This is a repeatable error and only started after upgrading to the latest version of Firefox.

• Firefox crashes whenI open it...

'''bold text'''When I click on Firefox it crashes and a crash report appears. I submit it.
Today, I went to the questions area her and found out how to get the crash ID. I did that and followed the instructions: I went to another browser and typed in- http://crash-stats.mozilla.com/report/index/ (followed by the crash ID number). It could not be located in order to find what was causing the crash.
I've tried this 3 times and all 3 times I was unsuccessful. I don't know what else to do. The crash started yesterday morinng and I'm having to use IE, which I dislike, in order to get on the Internet.
Might someone please help me?
Thank you,'
Leeflea.

Yes, that is normal. You want to turn that off? There are a couple of settings related to resuming your previous session after a crash:
(A) Resume automatically, but if Firefox crashes twice in a row, show a list of windows and tabs and let me choose; (default)
(B) Don't resume automatically, always show a list of windows and tabs and let me choose; (I recommend this approach) or
(C) Never resume automatically, and don't show the list.
Switching to B or C requires a visit to Firefox's about:config preferences editor.
(1) In a new tab, type or paste '''about:config''' in the address bar and press Enter. Click the button promising to be careful.
(2) In the search box above the list, type or paste '''sess''' and pause while the list is filtered
For "B":
Double-click the '''browser.sessionstore.max_resumed_crashes''' preference and change from 1 to 0 (that's a zero).
For "C":
Double-click the '''browser.sessionstore.resume_from_crash''' preference to switch its value from true to false.

• Firefox crashes when opening any page especially email

Firefox has suddenly started to crash when I open up any page but especially when I click through an email. I don't have a problem when I fire up Firefox by clicking the icon in my task bar, it's only when I want to view a page in any other way.
Does anyone know how I can fix this issue, I'm not very technically minded so step by step would be most appreciated.

I'm not saying this crash report is bang on accurate because I had to copy it out by hand, but I did my best. There may be other crash reports but as I was only able to copy them by hand I didn't make a note of them, so when they happen again I will do so. I hope this crash report helps you solve my Mozilla issue.

• Firefox crashes when opening new tab

Crash-ID: bp-681f1751-fc5b-4f14-a30b-f93ed2150407
I have tryed:
Clean install (with removing of C:prog..\mozilla)
Uninstalling and deleting extensions
Restarted Firefox in safe mode without addons/extensions.
Uninstalling/updating flash/adobe
I can start firefox, but when i press the "+" to open a new tab Firefox closes and "Mozilla Crash-report" window opens.
It seems like firefox it self can open a tab. For example when i do a fresh installation, Firefox opens with 2 tabs.
But when i want to open one it fails and Firefox shuts down. Its really wierd because i have never run in to this kind of problem before and i dont recall installing anything new before this problem showed up.
