Firefox crashes when replying to Outlook Web Access 97

When trying to reply to a message in Outlook Web Access 97 , it crashes and will not restart. At times it works, but other times it doesn't and I have to go to Safari to use Outlook.
Any ideas?
Thanks,
Jeff

Is it possible to flag e-mails and/or right click an e-mail to mark as read/unread, etc. when using Microsoft Outlook Web Access in Firefox on a Mac?
    == This happened ==
    Every time Firefox opened
== I've never been able to figure out how to do those things in Firefox.

When you use OWA in something other than IE, you're using OWA lite and no--it is not possible to do either in OWA lite (well, new Exchange stuff makes my answer a little less emphatic but still: pretty much no). Thanks Microsoft. But this guy made it possible to mark unread/read and select all/none:

  • Firefox crashes when printing from the web.

Mac user with OS 10.4.11 (Tiger). Have had repeated problems with Firefox in all versions crashing when trying to print from the web or using print preview before printing. Currently have Frefox v3.6.16 for MAC. Am printing to an HP 1315 AIO and HP 1210 AIO printers. Very irritating! Can copy paste web stuff to Word and print OK. Problem went away with OS 10.6 and Firefox 4 on my new MAC.

Inconclusive Evidence, I have tried all of your recommendations with no success. I can print with any other applications, just not Firefox, so I know it is not a problem with my driver. I'm stuck as to what to do at this point. Any other tips? Thanks for your help!

  • Firefox crashes when replying to an email in hotmail.

Last night I had a Firefox update appear and I went ahead with it. Then it said I needed to upgrade Flash which i also did. For whatever reason the Flash upgrade would not take. Then my FF kept crashing as soon as I would start it up. I didn't have time to research the problem so I just used IE. Today it was giving the same problems and I figured out to uninstall Flash. That worked and everything was fine until i went into hotmail. I could sign in a see my in-box but as soon as I hit reply, FF would crash. I tried to do some research but I couldn't find anything useful. So far everything else is working fine except hotmail.
Once it crashes I get a Windows message saying it that program has to close. I do not receive any crash report or any other identifying information.
    Any suggestions?

Did you set Arial as the +Body default or change the font to use Arial? It sounds like the font is not set in the mail, so outlook uses the default +Body font.  Set Arial as the default in format text > change styles. complete instructions are here:

  • Firefox crashes when left on a web page for NAS device

I access the GUI of a NAS device (QNAP TS-879Pro) from Firefox on Mac OS 10.6.8. It works great, but I notice that if I leave it on that page (a sort of visual OS front end to the NAS box), eventually it will crash (with me doing nothing - it just sits in the dock and I come back an hour later and I see the "Firefox has crashed" window).

  • Firefox crashes when replying to messages on Facebook

This is the most annoying crash, although it crashes frequently. When I'm responding to a message on Facebook, it crashes only if I type in a long message. I can do short replies fine, but if it's more than a paragraph, FF crashes. I saw this on here before, but there was no solution. Have you found one yet?

  • Firefox outlook web access response at bottom of thread instead of at the top

I'm on a MacBook Pro (10.5.8) using Outlook Web Access through Firefox 4.0.1 to get my work e-mail and when I reply to an e-mail, the cursor shows up at the bottom or beginning of the thread, rather than at the top. Consequently the reader often doesn't see my response as it ends up embedded in the body of the e-mail. Essentially, the reader thinks there is no response. I need to scroll up to the top each time before beginning to type. This happens when I select reply or reply all, not when I forward. Is there a way to change this so that my response will automatically be positioned at the top or most recent part of the thread?

    Hi Murray,
I see the navigation breadcrumbs just fine. Can you post a screenshot?

  • Cannot view OWA email - after upgrade to Firefox 5.0, Outlook Web Access displays ASCII characters (garbage) in message body. Same issue with multiple servers.

Email body of HTML or RTF messages are rendered in ASCII characters after upgrading to Firefox 5 when viewing email in MS Outlook Web Access (OWA) light from MS Exchange 2007 servers. Issue is repeatable with two entirely different Exchange systems.
Text email renders OK. Work around is to forward email (in use MS-IE).

You are welcome. I'm glad you got it back up.
    (1) You say you did the symbolic link. I will assume this is set correctly; it's very important that it is.
    (2) I don't know what you mean by "Been feeding the [email protected] for several weeks now, 700 emails each day at least." After the initial training period, SpamAssassin doesn't learn from mail it has already processed correctly. At this point, you only need to teach SpamAssassin when it is wrong. [email protected] should only be getting spam that is being passed as clean. Likewise, [email protected] should only be getting legitimate mail that is being flagged as junk. You are redirecting mail to both [email protected] and [email protected] ... right? SpamAssassin needs both.
    (3) Next, as I said before, you need to implement those "Frontline spam defense for Mac OS X Server." Once you have that done and issue "postfix reload" you can look at your SMTP log in Server Admin and watch as Postfix blocks one piece of junk mail after another. It's kind of cool.
    (4) Add some SARE rules:
Visit http://www.rulesemporium.com/rules.htm and download the following rules:
    70sareadult.cf
    70saregenlsubj0.cf
    70sareheader0.cf
    70sarehtml0.cf
    70sareobfu0.cf
    70sareoem.cf
    70sarespoof.cf
    70sarestocks.cf
    70sareunsub.cf
    72sare_redirectpost
Visit http://www.rulesemporium.com/other-rules.htm and download the following rules:
    backhair.cf
    bogus-virus-warnings.cf
    chickenpox.cf
    weeds.cf
    Copy these rules to /etc/mail/spamassassin/
Then stop and restart mail services.
There are other things you can do, and you'll find differing opinions about such things. In general, I think implementing the "Frontline spam defense for Mac OS X Server" and adding the SARE rules will help a lot. Good luck!

  • After updating to ios 7, I am now asked to enter my password continuously when using outlook web access for my work emails. This didn't happen before, I only had to enter my password once. How can I fix this?

After updating to ios 7, I am now asked to enter my password continuously when accessing my emails on outlook web access. Before I just had to log in and I was able to reply, save emails, etc without re entering my password. How do I fix this?

Similar thing is happening to a relative.
He upgraded his iPhone 5 and lost his iCloud account and all his email accounts. Major pain in the neck for a senior. And it was not a user error...unless you count the fact that he hit the upgrade button.

  • Is there a Firefox plug-in for Outlook Web Access?

I want to access all of Outlook's functions but can't through Firefox, only through Explorer.
In Outlook Web Access through Firefox, I don't have access to menu options for italics, bold, underlining, etc., and I can't view the list of emails on one side while viewing the email content of one email on the other side. The place to access folders like the sent box is different, too, through Firefox. It's a very downgraded version of Outlook Web Access. How can I get the better version of Outlook Web Access while still keeping Firefox as my browser? Is there a plug-in? If not, can Firefox fix this issue with its browser?

Firefox 3.03 - why such an old version? 3.6.12 is the most recent release.
It is up to Microsoft to fix Outlook Web Access to work with Firefox or to come up with a plugin for Firefox. If Mozilla was to start fixing or write plugins for all the software out there that is made to work with Internet Explorer and not any other browser, they wouldn't have time to work on Firefox.
There are two Firefox extensions that will open IE in a Firefox tab. Many users install one of these addons to get around problems like you are having with Outlook Web Access.

  • Firefox opens ok, but crashes when I open a web page

I upgraded Shockwave and Flash today, and since then, Firefox will crash when I open a web page. Firefox itself opens fine, but opening Gmail or Facebook causes it to crash with a windows error saying it has crashed.
    Im using...
    Firefox 4.0.1 on Windows 7
    Flash player V10 plugin
    Shockwave V11.6

This is very consistent, happens within minutes? In that case, I suggest this test:
To see whether one of your extensions is the culprit, could you test in Firefox's Safe Mode? That's a standard diagnostic tool to deactivate extensions and some advanced features of Firefox. More info: [[Troubleshoot Firefox issues using Safe Mode]].
You can restart Firefox in Safe Mode using either:
    * "3-bar" menu button > "?" button > Restart with Add-ons Disabled
    * Help menu > Restart with Add-ons Disabled
Not all add-ons are disabled: Flash and other plugins still run
After Firefox shuts down, a small dialog should appear. Click "Start in Safe Mode" (''not'' Reset).
    Any difference?

  • Can no longer connect to a Microsoft Outlook Web Access site

    Hi,
    I hope you can help.
I used to be able to access a Microsoft Outlook Web Access site. However recently I am unable to do so. It has a self signed certificate, which I used to choose to accept, and then the browser waits and waits and waits.
I have tried Safari, Firefox, Camino, Flock, Opera, even Internet Explorer. They all behave the same way.
I am not sure when it stopped working. I only log on infrequently. So I do not know if it stopped working after a security update or an OS upgrade.
My Mac is up to date with software updates. I have performed the usual things, repaired permissions etc.
The funny thing is I can connect using Netscape Comunicator under Classic. I have also borrowed a friend's MacBook running leopard, and that works too.
I am wondering if a setting somewhere has become corrputed or inadvertently set incorrectly.
    Thank you in anticipation.
    Ted

    Hi Bryan,
    Thanks for your input.
Unfortunately I cannot get any of the OS X browsers I have tried to get beyond the accepting the site's certificate. All just stall waiting on the Outlook Web Access site. Safari 3.1, Camino, Flock, Firefox (2.0.0.12 and 3 beta 4), Netscape (7.1 and 9), Microsoft's Internet Explorer (thinking that might be more integrated with its Outlook Web Access package).
I have even deleted the certificates from my Keychain (for Safari) or within the other browsers' preferences.
Last night I even re-applied the 10.4.11 combo updater and then checked for software updates to confirm my system was up to date, but again without success when attempting to reach the Outlook Web Access site.
    Thanks anyway.

  • Outlook Web Access not working in Safari or any other browse

When I try to access OWA from ANY browser, Safari, IE, or Firefox, I get the same error.
"You could not be logged on to Outlook Web Access. Make sure your User Name and Password are correct, and then try again."
When I log in from my PC, I don't have this problem.
The IT guys at work claim that they won't support Mac problems. Typical....
    Any thoughts?

Don't know if this will help, but are you providing the correct credentials via Safari? When you use IE, you are presented with a dialog box that asks for userid, password, and domain name. Safari and other browsers will only ask for the userid and password. Consequently, when using these browsers, you need to preface your userid with the domain name followed by a backslash. For example:
    mydomain\jsmith
While Safari works with OWA, it has an annoying habit of requesting the username and password frequently as you navigate through OWA. I also find that I occasionally have to to click twice on a button to get Safari to activate a command such as reading a message or the Send button. I now use Camino for OWA access. It's cleaner and faster.
