    Hi All,
After updating my firefox to the latest version (3.6.12), the browser frequently crashes on cerain websites. In particular, when i visit www.scottishproperty.co.uk. I think it may be flash related but im not sure.
I have tried the following but it has not solved the issue:
    1. Followed the artice on this site for firefox crashing on certain pages
    2. Uninstalled firefox and reinstalled it
    3. sent error reports to firefox - but when i go to About:crashes no reports are show.
    Can anyone please advise?
When i try the same url in IE, it works as normal.

Firefox crashes when loading certain pages. Often pages with video content

The crash reports indicates the crashes may be caused by a file named mcbrwctl.dll, that file is part of McAfee Site Advisor. Try disabling the McAfee Site Advisor to see if that stops the crashes.
To do that, in the Tools menu select Add-ons to open the add-ons manager. Select the Extensions panel, then in the list of extensions select McAfee Site Advisor then click on the Disable button. Re-start Firefox to complete the process.
For info McAfee Site Advisor has caused various problems with Firefox for quite a few people.

  • My keynote has frozen and wont open but the saved version wont open either. if i restart my laptop i am afraid that it will erase my work. please help me

my keynote has frozen and wont open but the saved version wont open either. if i restart my laptop i am afraid that it will erase my work. please help me

Try this repair for Keynote 6.2,  ensure you complete all the tasks and in the order shown:

delete all the iWork applications if you have them, not just Keynote, using Appcleaner from Mac Update, its a freeware application

empty the trash:  Finder > Empty Trash

Shut down your Mac, wait 30 seconds, then power on the Mac, immediately after the start chime, hold down the Shift key
When you see the grey Apple symbol and progress indicator (a spinning gear), release the Shift key.
If you are prompted to log in, type your password, then hold down the Shift key again as you click Log in.
Let the Mac fully boot up, it will take longer as the OS is repairing the drive
    4
when fully booted, go to Applications > Utilities > Disc Utility; click on the boot drive then First Aid tab and click  repair disc permissions
    5
when complete, restart the Mac normally, Apple menu > Restart

install Keynote from the Mac App Store
let us know if this helped

  • Firefox crashes when too many (3) tabs/windows open

Firefox crashes if too many tabs (3) are opened, if 2 browser windows are open, in Yahoo mail (deleting npYState.dll did not fix it) and does not give me a crash report. Internet explorer is not having problems like this.
    == This happened ==
    Every time Firefox opened
    == After downloading 3.6.6

Go to the address '''about:crashes''' and tell us your latest crash IDs. We can then look at the data specific to your crash and have a better idea of what is causing the problem.
Or you can go to '''Start''' and type in the Vista search box '''%APPDATA%''' then click on '''Roaming''' then go to '''Mozilla>Firefox>Crash Reports>Submitted''' then open the .txt files and copy the Crash report ID that starts with '''bp-xxxxx-xxxx'''

  • Firefox crashes when using Google as startpage

Firefox crashes and gives me a general error mesage that it had to close down for certain reasons.
This only happens when I use Google as my startpage.
If I use any other website as startpage all works well and I can go to Google from there and everything works.
In short: FF crashes at start-up only when using Google as starpage, I see the Google page very briefly and then FF crashes.
I would realy like any solution because I have always used Google as startpage and want to keep it that way without having to start with i.e. altavista and go to google from there.

A possible workaround for now is to disable hardware acceleration in Firefox.

  • Firefox crashes when accessign certain sections on Ebay

When going to ebay.com and accessing certain sections, "Selling Manager Pro Summary" in particular, Firefox crashes.
It does not crash on the main page, only on that particular section.
We have tried deleting history, cache and cookies and it was working OK for a while and then started to crash again.

If you have submitted crash reports then please post the IDs of one or more recent crash reports that have a "bp-" prefix:

  • Firefox crashes when a certain phrase is on a webpage.

Ok, Im using Firefox 3.6, and for some reason, firefox crashes every time I go to a webpage containing the phrase B i g_B a n g_T h e o r y (spaces in between are so my firefox wont crash...).
I tried searching for the phrase on internet explorer, that crashed too.
I determined that "theory" has nothing to d with the problem, and that the crash only occurs when the words "B i g_B a n g" are on the page (with no spaces or underscores...)
When firefox/IE crashes, its not a traditional crash. there is no error message or javascript popup, the page simply closes out, as if I had pressed alt + f4.
also, the page containing the problem phrase doesnt crash if it is in a background tab.
    Any ideas whats wrong?

Do a malware check with a few malware scan programs.
You need to use all programs because each detects different malware.

  • Firefox crashes when I right click then click on "Send Link"

When I right click to send a link to the page I am on via Thunderbird, then click on 'Send Link' Firefox crashes. This is using Windows 7 home edition, on this computer. My first post was on another computer and I am using 7.0.1 on this one that crashes as described above.

    1) You should update to Firefox 7.0.1
    2) Please provide a crash id -> https://developer.mozilla.org/en/How_to_get_a_stacktrace_for_a_bug_report

  • Firefox crashes when using Adobe Flash

I am using the newest version of Firefox (5.0.1) and the newest version of Adobe Flash (10.3.183.5) without any other add-ons. For some reason Firefox keeps crashing when playing Flash. Anything from Youtube, Flash webpages, online games, etc. It's not just the Flash add-on that crashes, but the entire browser.
I have to force it to close it via Task Manager (Windows 7 Professional).
When looking at the crash reports (about:crashes), it says there are none.
I have tried restarting, uninstalling both add-on and browser and I have even reinstalled my entire operating system. Nothing has changed.
This is obviously not my fault. Please fix this.

  • Photoshop CS5 crashes when using certain function

    Hi,
I have just downloaded the trial version of Adobe CS5 and it appears to crash when you use specific tools.  Particularly the program crashes when I try to perform a photomerge or view System Info.  There is no exact error message except a generic message that says Photoshop CS5 stopped operating correctly by Windows.  I have tried both the 64 bit version and 32 bit version and have performed a reinstall with no sucess.  I believe I might stand a better chance with a deletion of the registry entry but am not sure what values I should delete upon the next reinstall.
The other issue I have is that Photoshop CS5 seems to detect my 2nd GPU and not my primary GPU which does not allow me access to hardware acceleration along with the display profile for the third monitor.  Is there a way to have Photoshop CS5 only access one GPU and not another one (the task is only being executed on the monitors being driven by the one GPU)?
    System Info:
OS: Windows 7 Ultimate 64 Bit
    CPU: Intel i7 920
    RAM: 6GB Triple Channel DDR3
    Graphics card (primary): ATi  4870 512MB GDDR5
Graphics card (secondary - driving third monitor): Nvidia 6600GT 128MB
No Anti-virus program or firewall is installed on this PC.  No other tasks are operating when I perform the specified tasks above.
    Thanks in advance.

Sorry to make this thread so hastly, but I resolved the issue.  I simply disabled my 2nd video card and it is now operating properly.  Not happy about having my 3rd monitor disabled (run all other tasks not linked to Photoshop in there) so hopefully this will eventually be addressed in the future.
    Thanks.
