Several days ago firefox crashed when opening and it does so every time i try to open it now. I am able to use internet explorer perfectly. In fact one way i discovered i can still open firefox is by using Advanced System Care (which i installed after the crashing so it was not in any way responsible) and going to 'test bandswidth'. Because firefox is my default browser it opened it up. I was able to enter safe mode in this way and restart firefox in safe mode. I then set firefox so that all plugins and extensions were disabled but this did not help. I am running the default theme. I will be happy to provide any further information if anyone can help..thanks in advance.

Note that the Aurora (28.0a2) and Nightly (29.0a1) build are updated daily and can be unstable being alpha releases.
You always need to install such a version alongside of the current release via a custom install and use a separate profile for each Firefox version.
Make sure not to start Firefox after the installation has finished and use the Profile Manager to create a new (separate) profile for each version.
Do a custom install in a different program folder and use the Profile Manager to create a new profile for this version, so make sure not to start Firefox after the installation has finished.

Firefox crashes when I open Adobe (pdf) ALL plug ins are up to date as is FF
This is a known issue with Adobe Reader, and it depends on Adobe updating their plugin.
Whilst you're waiting for Adobe to fix their plugin, you can disable it and fallback to the default PDF reader in Firefox by following these steps:
#Go to ''Tools'' > ''Options'' (or ''Firefox'' > ''Options'').
#In the Options window, select the ''Applications'' tab.
#In the ''Search'' field, type ''PDF''. You should find ''Portable Document Format (PDF)''.
#On the right handside you should find an ''Action'' column. In order to view PDF files in Firefox, choose ''Preview in Firefox''.
Did this fix your problems? Please report back to us!
Thank you. -
I have listed the problems and solutions I have try at here:
http://www.mylot.com/w/discussions/2472332.aspxDid you try a new profile with all extensions and maybe plugins as well disabled?

Firefox crashes when closing open windows
Hi
Since updating to the new Firefox 18.0.1 every time I try to close a few open windows Firefox crashes. I would be reading my mail and after having about 10 open windows I go and check on the X to close the windows. I can close about five to seven of them with no problem but when I have about three of them left Firefox crashes. It is very annoying. I used the Firefox Safe Mode feature and this problem does not happen while in Safe Mode. I don't know what the next step is to fix this problem. Could you please help. Thank youHello,
Thanks for responding back. Norton is to release an update shortly to fix this crashing issue.
Have a nice day! -
When i open firefox i get the message Firefox has stopped - A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available.
I've also tried to go in safe mode. It would crash and give me the same message.
I've tried opening it by right clicking and clicking run as administrator. It opens then and i tried the solutions it says on the forum to do in safe mode and none of those work.
I have deleted and reinstalled firefox multiple times.
Nothing seems to work.
Also it doesnt give me a crash report.
I troubleshot it and it said "Issue found incompatible application detected " then it says "incompatible application - firefox is incompatible"The problem began because my computer had to be sent in because it wouldnt turn on so i had to get it fixed they replaced the motherboard this was the second time the motherboard was replaced and once they did that my firefox hasnt worked the same. I can go on google chrome but thats not what i prefer to use.
& when i right click on firefox it says troubleshoot so im assuming its built in to my computer. im not sure.
I tried the profile manager to create a new profile and that has seemed to work so far. No crashing but it does freeze when i got to facebook and then i have to click ctr alt delete to open task manager to end firefox. It happened twice, the third time i went to google, then twitter and it didnt freeze. I then went to youtube and it froze. So Facebook and youtube make it freeze. Any idea why it does that?
& thank you so much for helping and responding to me. -

Firefox crashes when I open a PDF.
Hello
My firefox is constantly crashing whenever I open ANY PDF file. I have tried all of your support articles, including updating firefox, updating adobe, I even tried deleting my entire firefox profile (I lost all my bookmarks and settings) and uninstalling the entire program, and it still doesn't work. PDFs open fine in internet explorer if that helps, but I hate IE with a passion and I would rather stick with firefox... I listed the two crash IDs from today, separated by the underscore.
Thanks for reading and hope there is a way to fix this.If you have submitted crash reports then please post the IDs of one or more crash reports that have this format:

You can find the IDs of the submitted crash reports on the about:crashes page.

I tried opening my facebook account but nothing helped....I am able to open other websites....and my friends are able to view their facebook account on my laptop....but i dont know whenever i try opening my account, firefox crashes in betweenI have had a similar problem with my system. I just recently (within a week of this post) built a brand new desktop. I installed Windows 7 64-bit Home and had a clean install, no problems. Using IE downloaded an anti-virus program, and then, because it was the latest version, downloaded and installed Firefox 4.0. As I began to search the internet for other programs to install after about maybe 10-15 minutes my computer crashes. Blank screen (yet monitor was still receiving a signal from computer) and completely frozen (couldn't even change the caps and num lock on keyboard). I thought I perhaps forgot to reboot after an update so I did a manual reboot and it started up fine.
When ever I got on the internet (still using firefox) it would crash after anywhere between 5-15 minutes. Since I've had good experience with FF in the past I thought it must be either the drivers or a hardware problem. So in-between crashes I updated all the drivers. Still had the same problem. Took the computer to a friend who knows more about computers than I do, made sure all the drivers were updated, same problem. We thought that it might be a hardware problem (bad video card, chipset, overheating issues, etc.), but after my friend played around with my computer for a day he found that when he didn't start FF at all it worked fine, even after watching a movie, or going through a playlist on Youtube.
At the time of this posting I'm going to try to uninstall FF 4.0 and download and install FF 3.6.16 which is currently on my laptop and works like a dream. Hopefully that will do the trick, because I love using FF and would hate to have to switch to another browser. Hopefully Mozilla will work out the kinks with FF 4 so I can continue to use it.
I apologize for the lengthy post. Any feedback would be appreciated, but is not necessary. I will try and post back after I try FF 3.16.6. -

*disable a possible RealPlayer Browser Record Plugin extension for Firefox and update the RealPlayer if installed
*disable protected mode in Flash 11.3 and later

FireFox sometimes crashes when you open it. Not always.
I run Win7 64 bit and have been having intermittent problems where FireFox will crash maybe 5 or 6 times a day when I try to open it. Then other times FireFox opens just fine. I have the mini dump file that was generated as well as the the Event Viewer Errors that show up.
Hopefully these files will be helpful, but I am not sure how to include them in this question.See:
