Firefox Crashes Windows 7 - Restart Required!

All of a sudden today I am unable to run firefox's latest version without my entire system crashing! If I attempt to open Firefox, the window comes up for a split second and then everything freezes up and won't respond to anything (mouse movement, cntrl+alt+del). I have uninstalled and reinstalled Firefox twice now but nothing has helped.
What are the next steps to diagnosing my problem?

The likely problem is use of certain Oracle etc software, the developer Oracle being aware of the problem and working on a fix. Meanwhile there is a registry hack as a potential workaround, or the simpler workaround of downgrading temporarily to firefox 3.6.23.

Sorry , you probably can not get them back.
You may have bookmarked them, or have them as part of the History previously stored and still searchable, but unfortunately otherwise you are unlikely to get them back. Firefox does to a certain extent back up bookmarks automatically but not the history.

See if this works for you.
Open up Tools > Options -> General and toggle the first preference - '''Allow Firefox Developer Edition and Firefox to run at the same time''' - to get back to your previous Aurora Profile. It will tell you to restart Firefox.
If there's a check-mark in the box for that pref it shows the Aurora Profile, if you remove that check-mark it shows the Developer Edition Profile.

Firefox crashes, then when restarts, it doesn't go to the page where it crashes. It is blank, so I have to reboot

Firefox is crashing but restarting to a blank page. I then have to start all over again. Information on the crash is sent to Firefox on the crash, but it doesn't explain why it is not reopening to the place where the crash occurred. I am not getting the message that sorry we can't open this window and that shows the open tabs that can be closed.
Recently upgraded to the 10.0.2 and this is when it started doing this.
The help information doesn't say why FF is not reopening.

Have you tried starting Firefox in Safe Mode? Hold down "shift" while Firefox is starting up. If the crash doesn't happen in Safe Mode, you should read [[Troubleshooting extensions and themes]].

I think you may have pasted the wrong thing into the Description.
To try and resubmit a pending report (for example if you lost your internet connection):
#Go to about:crashes in the location bar
#Click the latest report link to resubmit it
If there isn't a pending crash report listed, I'm afraid you may be out of luck for that crash report.

When Firefox crashes and I restart my Mac, it automatically restores the pages I had open before the crash. I don't want it to restore sessions. How can I disable that?

When Firefox gets hung up, I do a force quit. Then when I restart my Mac, it tries to restore all the sessions I had open before the crash. It doesn't crash often but every time it crashes, it does the automatic session restoration. The crash happens when I haven't shut down my computer for a day or two; it's like Firefox just gets tired and needs to be refreshed. It doesn't seem to matter what windows I had open. I have a MacBook Pro 10.6.8.

We close all applications before we power down the system. There is nothing open before we turn it off yet the same boxes open when we turn it back on.

Maintenance Windows for restart requires app deployment

I want to push out the application that does require the restart to work correctly. How do I make sure to set the maintenance windows so it won't install on the customer computers during office hours? It needs to be start install out of office hours and
do the reboot. How? thanks

Firefox crashes windows 7 when recovering from sleep mode

but not sure whether it depends on pages that are currently opened.
Sometimes, when recovering from sleep mode on win7 (with only Firefox and VS2008 running), win7 crashes. What's important - It doesn't happen always, but still, it's annoying (Firefox starts with startpage only).
I've been noticing this issue on different Firefox versions from Firefox 3.5 to 3.6.6.

Same exactly problem here, very annoying when the computer goes to sleep mode and then Firefox locks up.

Firefox Crashing Windows Since Update

Since updating FF on Windows 7 64, it starts not working ie. no websites will load. I try and close it and open again but it says an instance is already running please end it first. I go in task manager and try to end it but it wont end. I try to restart but it wont presumably because it can't end FF.
Is there some kind of error log I can post?
All browsers are being ruined. Opera used to be awesome before they switched to chronium. Chrome was always crappy. FF was perfect until latest cock up.

Many site issues can be caused by corrupt cookies or cache. In order to try to fix these problems, the first step is to clear both cookies and the cache.

To clear cache and cookies do the following:
#Go to Firefox > History > Clear recent history or (if no Firefox button is shown) go to Tools > Clear recent history.
#Under "Time range to clear", select "Everything".

Multiple crashes and computer restarts required?

During the past week, I've experienced multiple crashes on my Macbook Pro (Spring 2011 model). Upon opening programs (Mail, Safari, iPhoto - not necessarily at the same time or session), the program suddenly closes - either before its even opened or during it use. I've also received messages that my computer needs to be restarted - again, either at the initial powering on stage (right after entering my login password) or while i'm in the middle of a program an hour later? All these scenarios have occurred multiple times during the past week?? And seems to have coincided with a recent automatic Apple system software update so i'm suspicious that that may be the cause??
Any thoughts on the cause or solution? I bought my computer new in Jan 2012 but the 90 day tech support has expired. Without AppleCare, will the Apple store (or Best Buy where i bought it) help me fix this at no charge?

Your warranty is for one year, so Best Buy should repair it under the warranty assuming there is something that needs repairing.
You may have a software incompatibility problem at work. You have been experiencing kernel panics so a first start would be to look at a panic log to see what it tells us. We can try diagnosing everything until the problem is tracked down or you can go the extreme route which is to backup your data, erase the drive, and reinstall OS X.
For the former visit The XLab FAQs and read the FAQ on diagnosing kernel panics. Also seeOS X- How to log a kernel panic. Then post the panic log here so we can see what it tells us.
I would also suggest you try booting into Safe Mode and see if your computer's problems cease. If they don't then create a new user account. Log out of your account and log into the new account. Do the problems cease?

Downloaded updated Firefox, restarted computer as directed (8 times), turned off computer overnight, but when I try to use Firefox keep getting a "restart" requirement. Firefox won't run!!!

Once Firefox crashes & restarts, homepage opens (not tabs that were open prior to crash) even though "tabs from last time" is selected for when Firefox starts.

When Firefox crashes and subsequently restarts, the tabs that were open are not restored. I do not get the "well, this is embarrassing" dialogue box that gives me the option to restore tabs. When restarting, Firefox just gives me my home page. This happens even though I have selected under options for Firefox to open previous windows & tabs upon start up.

Hopefully you still can use History > Restore Previous Session to get back to where you were.
To restore the regular behavior of resuming your previous session after a crash, you probably need to change one of your preferences back to its default value.
(1) In a new tab, type or paste '''about:config''' in the address bar and press Enter. Click the button promising to be careful.
(2) In the filter box, type or paste '''sess''' and pause while the list is filtered
(3) Double-click '''browser.sessionstore.resume_from_crash''' to switch its value from false to true.
If you prefer to always get the "this is embarrassing" screen rather than having Firefox re-open all the windows and tabs immediately, also change this preference:
(4) Double-click '''browser.sessionstore.max_resumed_crashes''' and change the value from 1 to 0.

Youtube videos don't load.
Other websites that uses flash don't load.
Tried upgrading to a newer flash, though 11.3 causes huge CPU usage for some reason so I upgraded to 11.2

The Firefox program crashes whenever a tab is closed in any window. I tried to solve this problem by disabling my Norton add-on tool bar but the process requires me to restart Firefox. Firefox 6.0.2 crashes and Windows XP restarts the whole system

When I visit the 'YouTube' website, after a while Firefox crashes (Then I see for a very short moment a blue screen with text, but it dissapeared very quickly, so I couldn't read the text) and my complete windows XP system restarts. Then when I open Firefox again, instead of the usual starterpage, it opens on the YouTube-site where the crash happened. There is no so called 'crash-monitor' or other info that I know of.
