Firefox crashes without the crash reporter appearing
I have a new Macbook Pro with the latest version of Lion, Firefox Beta (14), and two or three times over the past 3 weeks since I got my new computer Firefox has crashed randomly.
The Apple crash reporter appears, but the Firefox one does not. about:crashes is completely empty and it's like Firefox doesn't even know it crashed.
What can I do to debug what happened and prevent it?
I used Firefox 13.0.1 for a week and I didn't have a single crash, but the 14.0.1 was released yesterday. I updated and it took until today for me to have a repeat of this crash. The full browser goes down while in the middle of surfing, and the only crash reporter is the Apple one.
about:crashes is still empty :/
I couldn't find any clues in the Apple crash report about what the problem might be.
By the way, it's not a plugin because I have them all disabled.
Any other thoughts or suggestions?

I cannot open my firefox broswer. The message box appeared that said a problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available. Under that there are debug and close program buttons.
JackieMars71 I would recommend reviewing your installation log files to determine if there are any errors during the installation process. You can find information on how to locate and interpret your installation log files at Troubleshoot install issues with log files | CC - http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/kb/troubleshoot-install-logs-cc.html. You are welcome to post any specific errors you discover to this discussion.

Firefox crashes and the crash reporter appears in my screen
Hello,
Crash reporter appears when I am trying to open the browser. I click on Mozilla's shortcut but no website opens..just the crash reporter appears the following message:
"Firefox had a problem and crashed. We'll try to restore your tabs and windows when it restarts."
It happened after I downloaded and installed some exe. files like live.ID etc.(It's for watching football games just with network access). After that I restored twice my computer at earlier time periods when firefox worked perfectly but still the crash report appeared.
It's really important for me to get back my bookmarks and passwords since I am an MSc student at the end of my course and time wasting at such a critical time period for my studies could be disastrous!!
I would appreciate your quick response..
Kind Regards,
Amalia Sfakianakiyour crashreport say that you are using Firefox 9 beta, please try Firefox 8 and check

Firefox crashes without a crash report being generated
I am unable to use firefox because it will only stay open for approx 2-10 seconds. I tried to collect the crash report as per the instructions on your help pages but the crash report directory in library is empty as it just fils without any error handling. There does not seem to be any pattern. The crash still happens in safe mode, after a reset, after removing the user profiles totally, after total uninstall of firefox and all extensions and re-install from scratch. This issue only started after upgrading to the v33 of firefox and not before.

My firefox opens without the firefox button in the upper left
I have the edition 9.0.1 installed on Windows XP home edition, but it opens without the Firefox button appearing in the rectangular box at the upper left of the screen. It does show File, Edit, View, History, Bookmarks, Tools and Help.<br /> Should I have the Firefox button? Do I even need it?<br />
Thank you.<br />
''(unnecessary link removed by moderator)''thanks that was extremely helpful and easy to understand. thanks for the help.

I bought and installed the new AVG software for 2012 as soon as it was installed I began to have issues with the system, all regarding Firefox and Aurora, it seemed to work at first but then started to slow down the second monitor. When I purchased the AVG 2 other software packages were sugested so I got them, Reg Booster and Sys Tweak, I have all three licences and recorded purchaces'. This morning I wanted to start the P C and the first monitor was just pulseing and the second one would not come on, after checking all the hardware and nvidia software settings I decided to go back to a system restore point which has allowed me to use the computer in regular mode (Not safe) and everything else is working just fine, except the AVG software disk generates a crash report for mozilla and using the safe mode does not work as neither does any other method to start or load firefox or any mozilla products, I had to swithc over to internet explore just to get here, and my virus protection is not functioning and the toolbar (AVG) says its up to date but nothing with firefox or mozilla will work. As you can see I have been a subscriber for ever and finally joind the team (Ieven got the t-shirt) but as of right now I cannot load or reload or fix or do anything with eaither my browser or my anti virus software....I know you guys didn't do something underhand did ubiblu the tweak sys or the reg booster? and if so why would it be offered to me through the AVG people? The same thing happened to me, since I have iPhoto 9.2.3
There is some kind of "direct access" to your original photos:
/Users/[your user name here]/Pictures/iPhoto Library/Masters
All pictures should be saved there, organized by year...
iPhoto will still not work but at least you can recover your photos. -
I cant actually open firefox, nothing beyond the crash report window
I've not been able to open the program,
it keeps erroring out with crash report
but nothing beyond that
is there any way of being able to get back into it,
and access bookmarks rather than just re-installingSee [[Firefox crashes]] and get a crash Report ID, explained at the end of the article.

Is there a way to import photos to the iPad and put in an album without having the photo also in the Camera Roll? I have a photo transfer app but when I import the album and photos they are also shown in the CR. When you delete them from CR they are deleted from the album too.
You can sync photos from your computer via iTunes, and each folder that you sync will get its own album : syncing photos. You will need to sync all the photos that you want on the iPad together in one go - synced photos can't be deleted directly on the iPad, instead they are deleted by not including them in the next sync.
In terms of albums that you create directly on the iPad no, effectively you are just creating pointers to the photos in those new albums, so if you delete the original photo you will therefore also be deleting all pointers to it.
You could consider a third-party photo management app instead e.g. Photo Manager Pro -
Every night Firefox crashes without any crash report.
All I get is the Windows dialog that says "Firefox has stopped working" "A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Please close the program." "Close the program". (If I can upload the screenshot I will).
The websites I was on are intranet only sites, require NO Flash or Java. Two tabs only. The same sites were not crashing in much older versions, appx 6+ months ago.
The only criteria for crashes seems to be the uptime of Firefox. The longer I leave it, the greater the chances of this crash. I have never seen it crash in front of my eyes, always (90%) would have crashed when I unlock the PC in the morning. I leave it running and locked the whole night.
Just a couple of days ago I decided to do a complete clean install of Firefox, i.e.:
Uninstall, Delete Program Files, Delete Profile folder. Reinstall, import bookmarks. That's it.
Hardware Acceleration has been disabled.
Provide Telemetry has been enabled.
Crash Reporter is enabled, but doesn't kick in. about:crashes is empty. (Even before re-install there were no recent crashes recorded there).HP Compaq 6005 Pro Small Form Factor PC

I'm using XP sp3, fully patched with the current version of firefox 3. 6.12. I have 4 gb memory and a 250 gb hard drive. Most of which is all free, so I have lots of memory and hard drive space. I was using firefox and everything was working fine. I shut it down and when I went back later, it would not open at all. I've uninstalled and reinstalled, renamed the user acct, followed all directions I could find and firefox will not open. I've run all kinds of scans on my computer for viruses or malware and found nothing. Everytime I try to open firefox, I get the crash reporter and it will not open at all. I would appreciate some help. I don't know what else to try. I use firefox as my default browser.
hello, this crash is caused by Websense Endpoint security software that is running on the system. please try to install all the updates for this program that are available...

Hello folks!
I have a new iMac late 2013 27inch that crashes quite often...
I never had a computer that crashed THAT often...
I found out that it has to to with my external blurry drive (i think) because the crash appears when the computer tries to read a disc.
I have Mavericks on that iMac. With my Macbook Air with Mavericks and the drive (and all my MacBooks before that) I never had a problem...
But this iMac just crashes when it tries to read a Bluray (I watch them with MacGo Bluray Player). But it already crashes without the Application being even open...
Then lately, while typing university work in pages, the computer crashed again! With no drive or any USB device attached (except keyboard).
I already had it a whole week at the apple store for stress test just to let them me "there is nothing wrong".
I now have the report from that last crash and as I remember, some of you are capable of reading those reports...
So could somebody please take a look and maybe find out what is wrong?
Best wishes!
Here the report:

Why does firefox randomly close (no crash report appaears after)?
Firefox randomly just closes on me. It's not a crash, at least not a normal crash, because the Crash Report does not come up. It's just one moment it is open and the next it is now.
On top of that when it does do this, and at random other times as well, I am not able to re-open it for several minutes or I have to close the actual process through task manager in order for it to open again.I'm sorry but I think you didn't get the problem right. Firefox just unexpectedly closes. It does not crash. There are no crash reports.
