Firefox crashing my computer?

Hello,
I'm using Firefox 2 with my G5. I don't know but Firefox crashes very often here. Strange since it's the only application I have problems with (apart from the MS Office).
But now not only Firefox crashed, no, the whole system fell down. I got a message moving up from the bottom telling me to hold the reset button for several seconds to reboot. Reminded me the good old windows blue screen times
Here is the report I sended Apple. Can anyone do something with this report? Is it really Firefox causing these problems or is something fishy with the system?

Within the past few months, I have not been able to use Firefox at all. It started crashing my whole computer, making the whole thing go blue screen before shutting down, and I have uninstalled and reinstalled it TWICE, the second time sacrificing ALL OF MY BOOKMARKS, and even after that, it STILL CRASHED MY COMPUTER! Firefox crashes the computer

After installing firefox onto Mac OS X Snow Leopard the computer has crashed a lot of times. For example I just quit firefox then the computer shows the blue screen and i am forced to shut down.

pffft same problem here just keeps on happening. Im running some pretty grunty games and my system is ok. as soon as Im using FF for a while my computer freezes. its only when I use FF. Ive checked computer health. Diagnostics, checked for malware and checked drivers. just cant figure it out. any takers?

Both thunderbird and firefox crash my computer when clicked on

I turned off my computer yesterday in anticipation of a nearby tornado. When I turned it back on, both of my Mozilla products--Firefox and Thunderbird--shut down the computer when clicked on. Internet Explorer works fine. I had to have my entire Windows 7 reinstalled recently for what the techie called "a Mozilla related problem" that he couldn't understand. Now the trouble has reappeared the first time the computer was totally turned off. What to do now?

I assume you say "no internet" access because of no browser.
This terminal command will download Safari Version 5.0.5 to your home folder from terminal.app ( no browser) copy and paste:

This began shortly after I installed my new CD burner with Nero 9 burning software, about the same time I also installlerade my new Nikon camera software ViewNX2, I ran Avira scan and Microsoft Egan virus scan and they say everything is good in it, he reported a few times, I ran Avira scan of your computer and Microsoft's own Virus Scanning and they say everything is good in it, he reported a few times, tried again now and the sound is heard all the way but the image is still, therefore gentle freezes, got no number on the bug report so I can not say that. While in Hotmail, Firefox crashed & now I can't open or delete messages, however, on the same computer-different account- my Hotmail works fine.

While a request to print a sent email was being executed (successfully), my attention was diverted away from the computer screen. When I returned, the Firefox "crash" notice was on the screen, but everything appeared fine so I didn't file a report. I exited Hotmail and later signed in and found out I can not open or delete any messages. I exited Hotmail, switched computer user accounts and opened my Hotmail under the computer's administrative account. Under the adm. account my Hotmail works without a problem. Switched back to my computer user account, signed in to Hotmail and the original problem still exists. What can I do to get Hotmail to work in my computer user account?

Clear the cache and the cookies from sites that cause problems.

I have a new 64bit computer to which I have transferred all my files and re-installed all my programsWhen I try to print a page using Adobe Acrobat 9, Firefox crashes. This has never happened before, and does not happen with other browsers.

I have a new computer. I transferred all my data files and installed my programs. Now, when I try to print a page ti pdf using Adobe Acrobat 9, Firefox crashes, and Adobe hangs up.

Thanks for your reply cor-el. I had never heard of nor seen the pref network.http.max-connections until I read about it in some of the replies in this support forum. People were saying 256 was the old setting and a new setting of 48 would correct my problem. When I followed the instructions to get to - see - and change the setting I discovered that my network.http.max-connections was already set to 48. I never did this. The only way I can think of that this setting was changed is that it happened by an automatic update to my Firefox browser. So, the problem I have was probably happening while this setting was at 48 all along. It is still set at 48 and I am still having the same problem. I will try as you suggest and set it to 30 and see what happens. I'll let you know the results. That's again for your response.

Firefox is crashing my computer when I try to open it. Does npdeployJava1.dll have anything to do with it?

When I try to open Firefox, my computer crashes and I get the blue screen then my computer restarts. I found the plug in npdeployJava1.dll and tried to remove it but I can't. I'm wondering if this file has anything to do with it crashing my computer. If so, how can I get rid of it?

Sometimes I can walk away from the computer and only have one tab open (e.g. Facebook) and when I come back to the computer a few hours later, Firefox has crashed for no reason.

Unfortunately the linked crash report is empty (@ EMPTY: no crashing thread identified; corrupt dump) and doesn't include any data, so it is not possible to find the cause of the crash.
Did you recently submitted other crash reports that were submitted and show a crashing thread?

Create a new profile as a test to check if your current profile is causing the problems.

There may be extensions and plugins installed by default in a new profile, so check that in "Tools > Add-ons > Extensions & Plugins" in case there are still problems.

i have used firefox for many years thn all of a sudden i keep getting the crash reporter, so i can never try safe mode or other things because it crashes on strt up. Th strange thing is whn i log on to my wife user it works fine.

My firefox crashed and will only let me install a 2.0.0.20 version (computer OSX10.3.9), was running Firefox 3.6 - any way to get back my bookmarks?

i think firefox 2.0.0.20 and 3.6 store their bookmarks differently. i would like to recover my bookmarks from 3.6 which i ran on for a year or more with no problems until this recent vaporization. i know the bookmarks must still be someplace and would like to put them in the right folder of the only firefox version my computer will now allow (2.0.0.20). have done nothing else to change the use, just suddenly firefox quit working and i had to reinstall and no upgrades will install.

I tried your suggestions, but they did not fix the problem. I downloaded Google Chrome and found that it was giving me a similar problem, but it was labeled error #336. I searched for that error number and found it had something to do with proxy settings. I figured out how to follow the instructions for fixing it in Chrome, but in Firefox instead, and that fixed my problem totally. I have no idea how my proxy settings got changed in the first place, but at least it's working now. Thanks!

A week ago Firefox crashed and since then will not run on my computer. At first when I clicked on Icon on desktop a popup said Firefox was already running, but where was it? I couldn't find it anywhere. I uninstalled Firefox and downloaded Firefox 9.0.1.

Now when I click on either the desktop icon or Firefox in the program section, a little popup appears in the top left hand corner but there is nothing in it that I can click on to run Firefox

There may be a parent.lock file left in the Firefox Profile Folder because Firefox crashed.

The different users will have different profiles, and probably different add-ons. One of you is using Roboform and not updated it. Try updating roboform.
Please post back with how you get on, and whilst logged in mark the thread as solved, if applicable. (That helps others find it, note breakpad only searches sumo for solved threads)

Firefox crashes even when all add ons are disabled. It crashed before but as soon as I updated the program or addons it worked fine. Not this time. It just kept crashing. I finally uninstalled it. I uninstalled Flash player and it still crashed. What is so wrong with it all of sudden?
