Firefox crashing when printing large webpage Windows 7
I have a fairly complex HTML document that is generated from a 3rd party application. It is approximately 100 pages of A4 at least.
When generated on a Windows 7 machine, the HTML is generated fine and opens in Firefox 16.0.2 as expected. However, when the user goes to print to a network printer, the status bar hangs at around 10% and Firefox stops responding. Eventually, after around 7 minutes, the crash dialogue box appears.
There is no appreciable spike in memory usage whilst this is going on. The document generates and prints fine on Windows XP machines.
Does Firefox still crash in a new profile?
Create a new profile as a test to check if your current profile is causing the problems.
See "Creating a profile":
*http://kb.mozillazine.org/Standard_diagnostic_-_Firefox#Profile_issues
If the new profile works then you can transfer some files from the old profile to that new profile, but be careful not to copy corrupted files.

FireFox crashes when printing bigger pdf files
We are using the setting "Preview in FireFox" for pdfs and when we try to print a larger file (over 60 pages or so), the print progress bar makes it to about 90% and then FireFox crashes. We have the latest version, 27.0.1, and I've tried reseting Firefox under Help>Troubleshooting Info and also uninstalled and reinstalled the program but still having the same issue. I'm able to print the file just fine in other browsers (or at least in Chrome). Can someone please help?
My best guess would be to troubleshoot the printer settings in Firefox and then talk to the Printer Support. [[Fix printing problems in Firefox]] . If it continues to crash please submit a crash report and post it to a new question with the "bp-"
We're sorry to hear that your Firefox seems to be crashing when you open it. Please perform the following steps to give us a crash report ID that helps us find out more about the cause of the crash.
#Press the following shortcut to get a Run window: [Windows] + [R]. This should bring up a window that contains a text field.
#In that text field, enter %APPDATA% and press Enter. An explorer window should open.
#From that explorer window, double-click on the ''Mozilla'' folder, then double-click on ''Firefox'' and then on ''Crash reports''. Double-click on ''submitted''.
#Now, you should see a list of files that contain reports. Go to ''View'' > ''Arrange Icons by'' > ''Modified'' to get the most recent files at the top of the window.
#Open the most recent 5 files with a text editor and copy the IDs.
#Paste each ID with '''bp-''' into the reply window on the forums.
Thanks in advance!
You can find more information and troubleshooting steps in the [[Firefox crashes]] article. -
Also tried "Reset all FF printer settings", no "print_" files.
'''print_printer''' isn't a '''''file''''' it is a '''preference''' that appears in the '''''prefs.js''''' file once a pref is "userset". Plus, those type of prefs appear in the advanced prefs window - about:config - whether they're "userset" or "default" value prefs.
https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/fix-printing-problems-firefox#w_reset-firefox-printer-setting
Quite honestly though, "we" might be better off trying to troubleshoot your crashes from the Crash Report ID#'s rather than resetting preferences.
#Enter ''about:crashes'' in the Firefox address bar and press Enter. A Submitted Crash Reports list will appear, similar to the one shown below.
#Copy the '''5''' most recent Report IDs that start with '''bp-''' and then go back to your forum question and paste that into the "Post a Reply" box. (Please don't take a screenshot of your crashes, just copy and paste the ID's. The below image is just an example of what your Firefox screen should look like)

Firefox crashes when opening a new window
Firefox opens normally and runs properly -- until I close all its windows. When zero windows are present, and I return to Firefox and ask for a new window, Firefox hangs. To resolve the problem I must Force Quit the app, which generates a crash report to Apple. Occasionally Firefox has crashed on its own and generated a crash report to Mozilla, but this is rare. I have tried disabling all add-ons, but that had no effect.
As long as there is at least one Firefox window open, the app functions normally. This problem only occurs when going from zero windows to one window.Try to repair the disk permissions:

Try to remove the Firefox plist file (org.mozilla.firefox.plist).

Firefox crashes when printing a Gmail message or attachment
ID: 911954ff-c73d-41fe-bbdb-727902140624
Firefox crashes whenever I try to print a Gmail message or attachment. Within a message, I click the down arrow and select "Print." The usual print dialog box opens, but when I click "Print" here, Firefox crashes completely.
Same thing happens if I click on an attachment and click the "print" icon...or open the attachment in Preview and try to print it.
I'm running up-to-date Firefox 30.0 on Mac OS 10.6.8.Hmm, it started happening again, and this time the suggestions above did not fix the problem. Last time, setting another printer as the default worked.
This time, changing the default printer didn't help. Neither did clicking the "reset Firefox" button.
I also tried shutting down and restarting the Minolta BizHub that I am trying to print to.
I can print fine to another printer.
It worked fine since June 24, my last post. -

Firefox crashes when printing from the web.
Mac user with OS 10.4.11 (Tiger). Have had repeated problems with Firefox in all versions crashing when trying to print from the web or using print preview before printing. Currently have Frefox v3.6.16 for MAC. Am printing to an HP 1315 AIO and HP 1210 AIO printers. Very irritating! Can copy paste web stuff to Word and print OK. Problem went away with OS 10.6 and Firefox 4 on my new MAC.
Inconclusive Evidence, I have tried all of your recommendations with no success. I can print with any other applications, just not Firefox, so I know it is not a problem with my driver. I'm stuck as to what to do at this point. Any other tips? Thanks for your help!

Firefox crashes when tabs closed & popup windows closed
When I try to operate a program through a pop up window, Firefox crashes. When I try to close a tab, Firefox crashes. This has only begun happening since the weekend when it updated to the newest version. I have tried uninstalling/reinstalling with no change in the results. This happens regardless of what website I go on. I have submitted crash reports every time it happens, so you should have a record somewhere. Please help!

These are all the crash report IDs. Many of them do have bp at the front. How can I fix this? I disabled the Norton toolbar, but still having problems. I do not want to disable Norton, leaving my comp. at risk.
Thanks for your quick reply!

Firefox crashes when I have multiple windows or tabs open
I am running windows 7 home premium on a HP (HPE-170f ).
Firefox hangs and then crashes on a regular basis when I multiple tabs and or windows open. When it asks to send a report, it usually tells me that there was an error in submission so the crash reports listed below are far from the only ones.
When I restart Firefox, my history is lost. I just went through your articles and I changed me startup to: show my windows from last time. Hopefully that will help the history problem but...What about the constant crashes?
Thanks for the help! This can be a problem with OOPP (Out-Of-Process-Plugins)

Firefox crashes when printing (save as .pdf) certain web pages
Sometimes, the problem can be overcome by selecting "Preview" from the print dialog box, which composes the page in Preview, from which the file can be saved as .pdf. My solution to this problem is to quit using Firefox and go back to Safari.
Go to the address '''about:crashes''' and tell us your latest crash IDs. We can then look at the data specific to your crash and have a better idea of what is causing the problem.

Firefox crashes on Windows 7 when printing to a Windows 7 network printer.
On Windows 7 running Firefox 3.6.10, I cannot print to a Windows 7 network printer. Firefox crashes every time as soon as I hit print.
However, the situation is very specific. I can print from Windows XP using Firefox 3.6.10 to a Windows 7 network printer. I can also print from Windows 7 using Firefox 3.6.10 to a Windows XP network printer. The only situation that doesn't work is using Firefox and printing from Windows 7 machine to Windows 7 machine.
Firefox is also the only program that does not print. I can print using Internet Explorer, Google Chrome, MS Word, MS Excel, and every other application just fine. Firefox is exclusive in that it is the only program that crashes and refuses to print. The drivers that are being used a PostScript drivers.
I have tried multiple versions of Firefox from older ones to the Firefox 4 beta and the program crashes every time.
Again, the only time it crashes is printing from a Windows 7 client computer to a Windows 7 network printer. Printing from XP to Windows 7 and from Windows 7 to XP works.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. The only program I've noticed the problem with is Firefox, so I'm assuming it's a problem at the application level. Here is the Crash Report for a user more experienced at reading Crash Reports than I am: <br />
