Firefox disappears but its process keeps running

For the past few weeks, Firefox's window has been often disappearing out of the blue as if the browser crashed, but the browser's process keeps running in the task manager and I have to kill it to restart it. No crash report is ever generated. This happens often on websites that use Flash such as Youtube, Grooveshark and Imgur. I've disabled hardware acceleration but the crashes still occur. Please help.

You can check for problems with current Shockwave Flash plugin versions and try this:
*check for updates for your graphics drive drivers https://support.mozilla.org/kb/upgrade-graphics-drivers-use-hardware-acceleration
*disable protected mode in the Flash plugin (Flash 11.3+ on Windows Vista and later)
*disable hardware acceleration in the Flash plugin

Thanks for reporting your solution to Flash lockups, which included reinstalling the Flash plugin after first doing a complete uninstall, including manual removal of leftover Flash files and folders.

Adobe processes keep running after closing program!

Hello,
I have this issue with Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, Media Encoder and Audition but not with Photoshop, Dreamweaver etc.
Everytime I close one of those programs the respective process keeps running in the background.
I can't restart the program until I go to the task manager and kill the process (AfterFX.exe, Adobe Premiere Pro.exe, pproheadless.exe)
I already tried a clean uninstall with the cleaner tool and reinstall but the problem remains.
I encountered this problem few months ago after a longer break from Adobe.
Never had any problems before.
I cloned my complete system with Acronis on a new SSD few months ago..
can't remember anything else with much impact which could have triggered this.
System: Win7 x64
Software: Adobe CC

I found the Solution (for me at least)
It seems to be a driver problem with graphic cards from nvidia's 600 series.
I have installed the oldest available driver for my GTX 680 and everything works fine now (some newer drivers might also work)
I'm gonna write a e-mail to the Nvidia support and tell them what happened, pls do the same if you found the solution due to this post and
upcoming drivers gonna work well for us again.

Why does the Firefox Update that I accessed keep running and not complete its task?

The routine updates that Firefox sends to me have always worked just fine. Now though the latest update I have been trying to access just keeps running and never completes the task. The motion bar that shows the user that the update is running never stops. I have come back minutes later to find the motion bar still running. I have tried to access this particular update several times now and it always does the same thing; just keeps running and never stops.

I am trying to run Greasemonkey on Mozilla which is a mozilla add-on but my computer keeps running mozilla in safe-mode. I have uninstalled the add on and it still restarts in safe-mode.

I have been running Greasemonkey for about 3 - 4 weeks. working fine. A few bugs but nothing substantial.
However, today I downloaded a new user script. It too was working fine. I left my computer running and went out. When I came back I continued playing Kingdoms of Camelot.
I had to refresh the page and then got an error message

I uninstalled the Greasemonkey add-on but Mozilla is still running in safe-mode.

Have you tried running the script manually to confirm it isnt just hanging on input for the lftp ?
You could add a -o <file> to the lftp command line which would output debug info into <file> so you could see.
Creation of the job looks fine so as GregV said, what output do you have in ALL_SCHEDULER_RUNNING_JOBS and any ADDITIONAL_INFO in the ALL_SCHEDULER_JOB_RUN_DETAILS or in $ORACLE_HOME/scheduler/log that might indicate what the problem is ?

Firefox process keeps running after closing

If i close Firefox i cannot reopen it afterwards because the process is still running in the taskbar.
I already disabled all plugins and addons but this didn't work.
I tried to uninstall and reinstall (without deleting personal data) without success.
If i start firefox in safe mode the problem also occures.
If i start firefox with another user on my pc there is no problem.
Anyone an idea?

When I load a try to sign in to Gmail or load a gmail page in either Beta12 or RC1, Firefox 4 hangs and I have no ability to mouse click within the browser. When I close the windo, the process keeps running.

I Get the message that FIreFox needs security updating but when I try to download it, it just runs forever and doeesn't complete the download . I tryied several times but it just keeps running. I have an eMac PS10.4.1.1 Thank you.

There is not much else to add. It works fine except for the update strongly suggested by Firefox. It gets stuck on Connecting to the Update Server and stays there until I Force Quit it.

This issue can be caused by corrupted cookies or cookies that are blocked.

Clear the cache and remove cookies only from websites that cause problems.

Installed Firefox 4 but wont complete, keep asking me to reboot (have rebooted multiple times)

I downloaded Firefox 4 and it asked me to reboot to complete the installation. I rebooted and when I tried to launch it it keeps asking me to reboot (have done multiple times). I tried to remove the program and start over and when I try and remove the program it asks me to reboot. So, I cant even get rid of it and start over. Ack Help!

I found a dirty solution for this problem:
# I deleted the Firefox folder in Program Files (the profile is not in this folder so I keep all my bookmarks, passwords,...)
# I re-installed Firefox 4

I tried to establish the Menu Bar in Firefox 4, but the process did not work. I had to reinstall Firefox 3. Why?

I installed Firefox 4 on my Vista based PC, and there was not Menu Bar nor was there a Status Bar. I followed the instructions in the help article, but I couldn't get either tool bar to appear. The main problem was I did not get the temporary Menu Bar when I pressed the Alt key and released it. Since I use the Menu Bar all the time, I ended up reinstalling Firefox 3. From what I saw of Firefox 4 it seems to be a good upgrade, but I need my tool bars. Is there some other way to get the Menu bar without using the Alt key?

The Status Bar has been replaced by the Add-on Bar in Firefox 4, by can get some of the functionality by installing an Add-on; see below.

Firefox stops working, its process hangs and it is impossible to terminate it.

After some time (hours or days) firefox stops loading pages (showing "Connecting..."). CPU usage of Firefox process as about 10% (my computer has 4 cores). If I try to exit Firefox, the process remains to hang forever until restarting of computer. So, I cannot just stop Firefox and start it again.

Use "Firefox > Exit" (Windows: Firefox/File > Exit; Mac: Firefox > Quit Firefox; Linux: Firefox/File > Quit) to close Firefox if you are currently doing that by clicking the close X on the Firefox title bar.
Boot the computer in Windows Safe Mode with network support (press F8 on the boot screen) as a test.

DI al_engine Process keeps running after completion of job

We have DI installed on Unix. We have been noticing multiple al_engine processes in active status even when there are no DI jobs running. In order to get rid of these processes, we have been periodically bouncing the server. Is there a cleaner way of releasing these processes.

does any of your batch jobs in hanging state ?

I set google as my firefox default but its been hijacked by yahoo and I cant get rid of it!
