Firefox does not open my email. Internet Explorer does

Firefox stopped opening my email a few days ago and I have troubleshooted it with my internet supplier this morning. We found that Internet Explorer would open it but the Firefox page would still not open it. We updated Adobe Flash Player to 10.3 but still not working.

When tethered to my Android phone, Firefox (ver. 8.0) will not open most webpages, but Internet Explorer (ver. 9.0) will. I say Firefox will not open "most" pages because, oddly enough, it WILL open https pages, but NOT regular http pages. When I try to open any regular http webpage in FF, I see in the status bar the usual "looking up..." and "connecting to..." messages, but then all I get is a completely blank white screen. I get no error messages whatsoever, only this blank white browser screen.
When NOT tethered, FF works as normal when browsing to both https and regular http webpages.
Why would Firefox open secured https pages but not unsecured http pages?
As part of my attempts to diagnose/resolve this issue, I completely wiped/reformatted my harddrive and reinstalled Windows 7 Ultimate 32bit and both FF8 and IE9.
Also, the issue arises regardless of which tethering method I use on my Android phone. That is, it happens whether I connect my computer wirelessly or via USB.
Lastly, the issue arises even when all add-ons are disabled and even uninstalled. I made sure to try the tether capability as I was reinstalling FF, before installing any add-ons and the issue persisted.

The problems are getting worse. I think I will have to give up on Firefox and go with the Google browser. No problems with IE just firefox and I can't take it anymore.

Downloaded file from Firefox but it is not opening in the internet explorer

2. when we are trying to open downloaded xml file in internet explorer through the javascript it is throwing Type Error : Access denied . But, when we open the xml in notepad++ and re- save it is able to open in internet explorer.

Firefox will not open my email client when I click on a "mailto" link on any website. How can I fix this.

Anytime I drag my cursor across, or try to click on a "mailto" email link on any webpage, it will display an incorrect e-mail address (it seems to default to one in particular). It will not open a new e-mail window and if I "copy e-mail address" it's the wrong one. I've tried everything and was hoping with new updates the problem would solve itself but obviously it hasn't.

Firefox cannot display my bigpond emails, internet explorer displays them ok

Firefox displays my bigpond logged-in site then when i select my email web-page thepage is displayed but no emails.
When i do the same with internet explorer the email page is displayed correctly.
This problem has only occured recently. Firefox performed the task perfectly until a few days ago. Makes me wonder if automatic windows updates could have anything to do with it.

Firefox icon disappeared, have to use Internet Explorer to access web sites. Although I can get into Yahoo home page, am unable to open e-mail account.

Turned on computer this am and firefox icon not there. Used Internet Explorer to access web sites. Was able to access my Yahoo home page but not able to open my e-mail account. I am not savvy enough to change settings by myself, so I really need help.

Hi--I tried your suggestion and no dice. A window came up with the following:The item 'Firefox.exe' that has this shortcut will no longer work properly. Do you want to delete?
Another window said 'C:Program files (x86) Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe' specified in the target box is not valid. Make sure the path and file name are correct.
I have no clue as to what that means. I did delete the shortcut.
Finally went into our Kaspersky virus protection and found Firefox is in quarantine and that is probably why I am unable to uninstall and reinstall.
Any ideas????

Email links to open a web page do not display in my email using Firefox. They do display using Internet Explorer. Why?

My email account on Network Solutions site no longer show links sent to me. Someone sent me an email with a link for me to click on to fill out an online form. The link did not display. If I forward the email to another account, I can see the links. If I open the email in Explorer, it also displays the link. Why does Firefox 18 not display the links?

Firefox w/ not open forms from websites. Internet Explorer had no problem. Re-installed FF with no resolution.

I also have this problem. I cannot open links from a discussion board I frequent nor can I open links from my email. Also after opening my email, I cannot go to any other sites except my home page. I can then go no where else.
When I close Firefox and try to reopen it, it does nothing! I have to bring up the Task Manager and end the Firefox process before I can get back in.

When I open an email and use a link it always opens with win internet explorer, why?

If an email directs me to a web site the new web site always opens in Windows Internet explorer. I expect it top open in Firefox but this dose not happen.Why?

I upgraded from 3.6.13 to Beta 4.0 and now Firefox will not open at all I tried to uninstall to start again but it will not uninstall either it does nothing.
