Firefox does not start in Linux unless some extension was changed (i.e. activated/deactivated)

Problem: When I start FF in Linux, it crashes after the cursor is jumping for half a minute. Nothing is displayed. When I start FF from the command line, I get the prompt back after one second without any message. In safe-mode and with all extensions off it always starts.
However, when I change something in the extensions' settings, it may start: If I start in safemode, deactivate all extensions, and restart - here it goes, with all extensions off. If I activate all the extensions again and restart - here it goes again, with all extensions on. If I delete one or more of the extensions' folders in the extensions-directory of the profile (i.e. sth changes about the extensions!), it may start again, too, but not in every case.
What could be the cause of this issue and how can I resolve it?
I use FF 3.6.8 in openSUSE 11.3. The profile-directory I use with FF in Linux is also used by my Windows-FF. As for extensions, I use Greasemonkey, Firebug and Web Developers Toolbar

Same thing happens when i click restart.

Firefox has always worked on the laptop of my girfrind, until yesterday. When I run firefox from the command line I get the following message, and firefox does not start.

2)goto this website : http://toolbar.zynga.com/install/farmville/
3)login with a valid facebook acount
4)Click install, and then click allow, install now, restart namoraka, restart, finish, and then click save and quit.
Now firefox does not start anymore.
Is it usefull when I make a tar file of .mozilla and post it here?

Firefox does not start by clicking on the icon in RHEL 5.
Firefox does not start by clicking on the icon in RHEL 5 on thin clients, also the internet proxy server usename is not accepted for java applets on webpages. However while using Firefox on the servers directly everthing works fine. This issue occurs on a server thin client environment, where the home directories are located on a 5 TB storage connected using SAS cables to the servers.
A possible cause is security software (firewall) that blocks or restricts Firefox without informing you about that, possibly after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program.
Remove all rules for Firefox from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full unrestricted access to internet for Firefox.

i am using Duke 64 bit. 50% of the times firefox just does not start. i had the same problem in 2.0.0.3 and now it is 2.0.0.4 but problem is not solved. when i use command "firefox" in X Terminal, cursor just goes to the next line without doing anything and when i do "ps -x" i can see firefox was *already* running but i do not see any windows of firefox. Since a few days, when I click Firefox, it does not start anymore (browser Windows does not appear anymore).
Also, I noticed that after I click, my computer makes a lot of noise et becomes slow & gets almost blocked: I can see that in the task manager/processes, firefox is there and consume a lot of memory ressources.

I have tried installing different versions of Firefox, but all of them have the same issue - the browser does not start at all, no error messages, cpu usage is 100% in task manager, so have to shut it down there.

Firefox will not start.
Run profilemanager and delete old profile - create new profile - click run firefox from profile manager and firefox opens.
Close firefox and try to reopen. Will not open. Follow above procedure again and foerefox opens until closed them will not open.

I had tried starting Firefox in safe-mode before I posted this request, but it did not work. I tried to restore the system to an earlier version, but that made everything worse. Two accounts were unusable and one sort of worked, so I reloaded the operating system and now firefox works, for how long, I don't know. But thanks again for your suggestion.

I cannot use Firefox at all now. It simply will not start up. I've been through the troubleshooting section and it appears something was corrupted when it closed. However, the advice to create a new profile can't help either as it won't let me.
I have various saved information for websites which I don't have to hand elsewhere, so really need Firefox to work. Is there any way of solving this?Hello Zubeyir.

IPhoto does not start to update after my iMac was updated to OS X Yosemite.
iPhoto has been "paused" after my iMac was updated to OS X Yosemite. iPhoto does not start to update when I click "UPDATE" in App Store "Updates". The circle on the left top corner just keep circling. Do you know how to fix this problem? I cannot download my photos to iPhoto without updating it.

I could not follow what you have explained to me as I struggled to find iPhoto 9.6. Anyway, while I was struggling, I managed to update iPhoto somehow. Finally, I can use iPhoto!

Firefox does not start (not even safemode) but uses CPU
I have the latest Firefox 25.0 (and latest Flash 11.9.900.117) on Windows 7 and the following behavior is reproducible. This started not too long ago.
At first when I start Firefox nothing appears no matter how often I restart. However, in the process list I see firefox.exe at 25% CPU, 2x FlashPlayerPlugin_11_9_900_117.exe (0% CPU) and plugincontainer.exe. No matter how often I kill all of them, Firefox wouldn't restart.
The following does also not help in this situation:
* Starting in normal Safemode: Firefox opens up a Window but freezes immediately and does not respond. The process list shows the the same processes even though I find FlashPlayer unexpected.
* Disable plugincontainer: Same results (just without plugincontainer.exe)
* Deinstall Flash: Same results (just without FlashPlayerPlugin)
The following can start Firefox once only:
* Starting in Safemode but select "Reset Firefox": Firefox won't start right away, though. Nothing happens and you have to kill the processes. However the very next time you start Firefox the normal way, it works fine (but it shows FlashPlayerPlugin.exe in the Windows process list despite not Tab being open). Unfortunately, after closing Firefox the processes (Firefox, FlashPlayerPlugin) are not removed. I kill them and the trouble with Firefox not starting reappears again.I'm afraid not. As soon as I reset, Firefox disappears however two new FlashPlayerPlugin.exe processes start. Those together with firefox.exe remain as background processes and above cycle is the same.
There is one difference between resetting in safemode-startup (Shift clicking while startup and chosing "Reset") and resetting from the Troubleshooting menu: Only the former allows for a subsequent single normal start (after killing the first attempt as described above).
PS: My extensions did not get lost. Does that mean the "Reset" actually crashed? Also I'm using Sync.
PPS: I've tried disabling all Plugins (Flash etc.). Now when I close Firefox, FlashPlayerPlugin does not remain as a process, however firefox.exe does at 25% CPU. And when I try to restart Firefox, I again get two FlashPlayerPlugin processes with all the above symptoms (Plugins remain disabled in the configuration). This plugin is probably not the cause as I also tried deinstalling it, but it may give an indication where Firefox gets stuck.
