Firefox does not try to connect to my dialup internet. It just "starts" as if i were already connected
I have used the earlier version of Firefox for several years. When I clicked on the desktop icon a window appeared and allowed me to select "dial" in order to connect to the dial up internet connection. This is the only connection available to me
I have just downloaded and installed the newer version an now when I click on the icon the firefox home page appears but says it cannot conetct any web sites because it is not connected to the net
I have to use Internet explorer to get connected and then switch over to Firefox
Not sure if this Term is Relevant towards an iPhone but, my iPhone won't Post unless if it's plugged into a Charger.

I can connect with my banking websites but the login page will not come up. This is a recent occurrence and I have done virus scans and have also recently done a clean instal of Windows 7. The problem persists. I can connect to any other website with no problems. When I close FF it appears to close and Task manager shows as not running but it will not reopen. If I attempt to uninstall I am told that FF is running and needs to be closed. I have to reboot to get to close and be able to reopen.
I can connect to the bank sites with IE. However I really don't like IE.
I am using Win7 Professional on a Sony notebook VGN SZ55I don't have an answer, but I experienced the same problems trying to set up an airport express to route traffic to my stereo.
Apple Extreme router, iMac and laptop all worked just fine for months, upon installing Airport Express (step by step, according to instructions), all **** broke loose. Airport Utility was unable to see my Airport Extreme router, after hours of rebooting computer, cable modem, router, and finally a hard reset of the Airport Extreme router, it is finally recognized by Airport Utility again.
Recreated network, iMac connects to the internet just fine, laptop (Macbook Air) connects to the network just fine, but will not connect to the internet. Network diagnostics does not help, it gets to the "do you have a router? If so, reboot" stage, and never seems to see the router.
Any suggestions? -
I CAN NO LONGER SYNC ANY OF MY APPLE PRODUCTS TO I=TUNES, I HAVE CHANGED CORDS, CHANGED USB LOCATIONS, TRIED DIFFERENT ((I-PAD, I-PHONE) AND NONE WILL TRY TO SYNC. I HAVE RE-INSTALLED I-TUNES. NOTHING WORKS. THIS STARTED WHEN RAM WAS ADDED TO COMPUTER.
Hi, can you take the RAM out and try again? Sounds strange that RAM would cause this.
What computer type are you using and what OS? -
Firefox does not start up after an automatic update. Every time i try to open it, it just prompts the Mozilla Crash Reporter.

Same thing happens when i click restart.
No difference when i run it in Safe mode. And it won't let me create a new profile either. Is there anyway else i can extract my bookmarks? This is driving me crazy!Did the crash reporter send any crash reports?<br />
You can see the crash reports in this folder:
"C:\Users\<user>\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Crash Reports"
See: http://kb.mozillazine.org/Breakpad
See also [[Firefox crashes when you open it]]
Create a new profile as a test to check if your current profile is causing the problems.<br /><br />
See [[Basic Troubleshooting#Make_a_new_profile|Basic Troubleshooting: Make a new profile]]<br /><br />
There may be extensions and plugins installed by default in a new profile, so check that in "Tools > Add-ons > Extensions & Plugins"<br /><br />
If that new profile works then you can transfer some files from the old profile to that new profile (be careful not to copy corrupted files)<br /><br />
See http://kb.mozillazine.org/Transferring_data_to_a_new_profile_-_Firefox<br /><br />
If that still causes the same problem then do a clean reinstall and remove the Firefox program folder.
* Download a fresh Firefox copy from http://www.mozilla.com/firefox/all.html and save the file to the desktop.
* Uninstall your current Firefox version and remove the Firefox program folder before installing that copy of the Firefox installer.
* Don't remove personal data when uninstalling.
* It is important to delete the Firefox program folder to remove all the files and make sure that there are no problems with files that were leftover after uninstalling.
See:
* http://kb.mozillazine.org/Standard_diagnostic_-_Firefox#Clean_reinstall -
Using Firefox 3.6.20 and Windows XP Home SP3. Firefox sporatically deletes bookmarks from the bookmarks toolbar. Additionally, when I try to import from a saved HTML file, Firefox does not import the complete file. Results are inconsistent.
A possible cause is a problem with the file places.sqlite that stores the bookmarks and the history.

This sentence (in french version) "le fichier ne commence pas par '%PDF-'" appears when I try to open some (not all, mainly bigger than 1Mo) PDF files within Firefox (does not happen when I download the file)
You mention Thunderbird, has the PDF file been emailed to you? If it has this support page from Adobe may help - http://www.adobe.com/fr/support/toptech/acrobat/319294/

Firefox does not know how to open this address because the protocol (Sims3) with any program connects
can you help me plzWas the message sent from Microsoft Outlook? When you embed an image in a message in Outlook (at least up to version 2003), it creates a hidden attachment for the image and then inserts a "cid" reference to it. If the attachment gets stripped for any reason then the "cid" reference is useless: Outlook does not store the original URL or path to the image.
Edit: By the way, which webmail site has this problem? -

When I open firefox before connecting (via 56k modem) or if I leave a previous section open, disconnect and then reconnect, firfox does not work, it remains offline, even though internet is connected. I have to close firefox and reopen
Thanks for the reply. I never get the option to "Restore Previous History" from History. I don't even have the box checked that asks to delete the history when Firefox closes. I don't know what's wrong, no matter what, I always lose everything. I have the box marked "Show my windows and tabs from last time" for when I open Firefox, but it never shows that, just my homepage. Also, when I check my History, it only shows the pages that I opened since I started Firefox, nothing from before. Even if I were to open up 10 pages now, close Firefox, and open it, the history would only show the homepage that opened this time, not any of the 10 pages that I opened 5 minutes ago.

Firefox does not load at all. unable to connect. safari and IE work ok.
Windows 7
Is it hanging ? have you looked for the firefox.exe process using something such as the Windows task manager. Do you find the process ? Presumably Firefox has worked previously on the same computer, can you confirm that?
See

I do not know what happened, all of a sudden Firefox does not want to work anymore. Had been conected to audible. Retried about 4 times.... no luck had to force quit every time. The three Firefox app. into garbage, emptied garbage and redownloaded new version from Firefox. Reinstalled but same thing happened again... no connection.
What can I do, I like Firefox better than Safari, had it for years on my Mac.
Please let me know.
(Note: I have also mentioned this on the automatic response to the malfunctioning).
'''''Email removed by moderator to protect you from spam'''''Hey.
I think it might be the problem with one of your plugins.
Try to uninstall the webbrowser AND remove the storage from Firefox in your user-account (Linux: /home/username/.mozilla). You can check the list of installed Add-Ons in Firefox under "Extras => Add-ons" or by pressing Shift + Strg + A (Linux). -
Firefox does not trust a specific secure website that I know is secure, but it does trust other secure websites. Also, Internet Explorer trusts this website and Firefox on another computer trusts this same website. When I try to connect Firefox tells me that it does not have a valid certificate (even though I know one exists) and that I would have to make an exception to connect. Is there some way I can correct this and get the proper certificate into this particular Firefox program?
Can you post a link to that website?
It is possible that the server doesn't send a required intermediate certificate.
Firefox stores intermediate certificates that servers send for future use, so if you have visited a website that has send such a certificate then you won't see an error if you visit a server that doesn't send that intermediate certificate.
You can inspect the certificate chain via a site like this:
You can retrieve the certificate and check details like who issued certificates and expiration dates of certificates.
*Click the link at the bottom of the error page: "I Understand the Risks"
Let Firefox retrieve the certificate: "Add Exception" -> "Get Certificate".
*Click the "View..." button and inspect the certificate and check who is the issuer.
You can see more Details like intermediate certificates that are used in the Details pane. -
"DBSL does not support extended connect protocol" while configuring SSFS
Hi, I'm trying to configure ssfs on ERP EHP7 on HANA Database system. Doing it with this guide - SSFS Implementation for Oracle Database
But when I'm trying to test connection with r3trans I got following error in the log:

I already updated DBSL_LIB to the latest version, but it doesn't help.

HT1689 how can i undisable my ipod touch when itunes does not want to connect?
My brother's ipod touch 4th generation was cracked on the screen and was not able to see anything after a while. We finally fixed it and now it says "IPOD DISABLED CONNECT TO ITUNES". We tried connecting it and itunes does not want to connect because it says that the ipod has a passcode and until we unlock it, it will do it. So we our stuck and on top of that, the ipod's power button does not work, so we waited to uncharge the ipod so we can try to connect it again and it still won't do it. We do not know what to do, and we cannot afford to buy a new one. Is there a solutiong for this? Thank You.
Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased.
iOS: Wrong passcode results in red disabled screen
If recovery mode does not work try DFU mode.

For how to restore:
iTunes: Restoring iOS software
To restore from backup see:
iOS: How to back up
If you restore from iCloud backup the apps will be automatically downloaded. If you restore from iTunes backup the apps and music have to be in the iTunes library since synced media like apps and music are not included in the backup of the iOS device that iTunes makes.
You can redownload iTunes purchases by:

I have seen these other similar problems and solutions in the support forums but none of them describe exactly my problem and none of their solutions fix my problem:

browser.showQuitWarning
are set to true.
With all the above set to true I have also tried in
Options -> General -> Startup -> When Firefox Starts
varying the setting between
"Show my windows and tabs from last time"
and
"Show my homepage"
When I have this set to "Show my homepage" Firefox does ask me when I'm closing it down if I would like to save my tabs for next time. I select Save and Quit, yet when I reopen Firefox it opens only a single tab, my homepage.
When I have it set to "Show my windows and tabs from last time" Firefox does NOT ask me when I'm closing it down if I would like to save my tabs for next time. When I reopen Firefox it opens only a single tab, my homepage.I ddin't have this problem ubtil today! If I closed Firefox with open tabs, then when I reopened Firefox, the tabs were there. It was like that first thing this morning but now, at 10:37, it warns me when I try to close it with multiple tabs open and when I reopen Firefox it reopens without the previous tabs! I have opted for "show my windows and tabs from previous session". Restore previous session is inoperative. Presumably, there's been another update which has caused this, as with the RSS feeds disappearing.
