Firefox doesn't display content, especially links.

This is my problem in a screenshot: http://d.pr/i/DjkB
The content isn't displayed and especially links. Links are always not there and sometimes text is displayed but all websites are disfunctional because of this.
Here's a link to a screenshot displaying how the same website should look like: http://d.pr/i/ZRvN

Did you manage to find out which font Firefox is using in the case when text doesn't display?
You will have to remove or update that font.<br />
You can also check that font in Fontforge.

I've noticed that on some pages, Firefox doesn't display certain text. I have the newest version of Firefox installed and my flash and java are updated. The text displays fine on Chrome and IE. Please see my example in the screenshots of the stevenson.edu webpage. Does anybody know what I can do to fix this problem or if there is some sort of plugin I am missing to display certain content? • Firefox Doesn't display correctly and is very laggy on sites with CloudFlare DDoS Protection

Since 35.0 and above i have been getting weird behaviour on sites with CloudFlare DDoS protection.
When i open the site in a new window, it takes a really long time and sometimes doesn't display at all and gives me a blank page. and now it just starts to say "New Tab" and i can't hit refresh.
When the site actually loads after 20 something attempts, the site is laggy, any action takes upwards of 20 seconds.
Whenever i try to open something, i get a blank page with the URL at tabs. Whenever i try to like or post anything, it delays by 15-20 seconds.
Site i am trying to use with much failure. http://hypixel.net/
    Anyone else having this issue?

  • Firefox doesn't mark threads or links as read

If I am on a forum or web page and I click on a link or thread Firefox does not mark it as read by changing the color of the link. How do I get this back. It happens with no extensions or themes and in safe mode.

Firefox doesn't do email, it's strictly a web browser. Sorry, but your problem isn't with Firefox.
If you are using Firefox to access your mail, you are using "web-mail". You need to seek support from your service provider or a forum for that service.
If your problem is with Mozilla Thunderbird, please Tag this thread as being for Thunderbird in the right-hand column of this page. This question currently is in the Firefox queue for answers.

  • Firefox doesn't display bookmarks in the sidebar, only in the menu bookmark. It doesn't display bookmarks in the "organize" bookmarks. It doesn't save tabs on exit. Problem began with 3.6.6

FF 3.6.6 doesn't display bookmarks in sidebar, but a search in the sidebar shows they are still there. It does display them from the menu bar. It doesn't display bookmarks in the "organize bookmark" display. It doesn't save tabs on exit. Doesn't save browser screen size.

With so many issues with your current profile it would be better to try a new profile.
Be careful with what you copy to that new profile and it sounds that at least you have problem with places.sqlite and maybe prefs.js and localstore.rdf as well.
First test that new profile without copying files and installing extensions.
Create a new profile as a test to check if your current profile is causing the problems
See [[Basic Troubleshooting|#Make_a_new_profile|Basic Troubleshooting: Make a new profile]]
There may be extensions and plugins installed by default in a new profile, so check that in "Tools > Add-ons > Extensions & Plugins"
If that new profile works then you can transfer some files from the old profile to that new profile (be careful not to copy corrupted files)
    See http://kb.mozillazine.org/Transferring_data_to_a_new_profile_-_Firefox

  • Firefox doesn't display links correctly where they are supposed to be.

I am using a Dell Venue Tablet running Windows 8. I try to load a web page and the links that are supposed to appear above a certain area, show up on the left side of the screen in a column, only in a text style format. The entire page itself isn't loading correctly. I've tried installing and reinstalling Java and that doesn't seem to work. It does the same thing in Internet Explorer as well. • Firefox doesn't display text of certain gmail messages seen correctly by IE

One email correspondent sends me messages which only occasionally fail to display on my gmail account browsed using current Firefox version. Same messages display fine in IE (how humiliating!). He has no idea what he's doing differently from one message to the next. I suspect it might be something about "pasted" in content. The header looks fine - just the body comes up blank. Forwarding to myself doesn't help. I've seen this about 6 times in 6 months - all from same sender - most of whose email comes thru fine. I'd suspect something else except for disturbing fact that IE reads these messages without any problem.

How safe is it to delete Lucida Grande from my Windows Fonts folder?
    </blockquote>
I think it depends on how it got there. If it was dropped by Safari for Windows, which is no longer a product that Apple supports, I think it's safe to remove. If it belongs to some other software, then that software might object to losing the font. I'm not sure of the best way to determine that. I suppose you could hedge your bets by dragging it into a different folder so Windows just doesn't see it.

  • Firefox doesn't display text properly on pages created with email marketing tool (Constant Contact).

Pages that are built with Constant Contact email marketing application don't display correctly. Different sections of text, usually a paragraph or list group, are readable but "shaded out." This is happening on Mac and Windows platforms.
The pages are built using standard HTML tags and the problem doesn't appear with other browsers.

Can you post a link to one or more of such pages?
    * "Clear the Cache": Firefox > Preferences > Advanced > Network > Offline Storage (Cache): "Clear Now"
    * "Remove the Cookies" from sites that cause problems: Firefox > Preferences > Privacy > Cookies: "Show Cookies"
Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of your add-ons is causing your problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes).
    * Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.

  • Chrome doesn't display content?

I'm using the TCS 3.5 version of RoboHelp, a.k.a. RoboHelp 9. Chrome looks like it's version 16? There are other versions being used, though.
We almost went crazy yesterday, because my boss followed my instructions for turning her project into WebHelp, and it came up empty. Literally. No left nav table of contents, no search, no text, nada. Just the skin. And the skin was a slightly different color, and the spacing was funky. After a few hours of hair-pulling, having others walk through the process and generate RoboHelp just fine, we found out her default browser was Chrome. So I pulled her output off our fileshare, and opened it in Chrome, Firefox, and Explorer. The last two were fine. But Chrome was empty, and the skin didn't look right. It looked fine on the other two browsers.
So, what do we do? Is there some way to make RH Chrome-friendly, the way you can add Mark of the Web? Or are we just SOL, and Chrome and RH don't play well together?

    Hi there
Does Chrome display it correctly from a Web Server? For example, does the link below work in your boss' Chrome browser?
I seem to recall that Chrome has issues with WebHelp from any HAT because of the framesets. But only when you attempt to view locally. It's a security thing. So is Mark of the Web. But that's only applicable to Microsoft Internet Explorer.

  • Calling WebHelp from JS doesn't display content in frames

    Hi,
We are using WebHelp on a UNIX server run from the cloud, to replace the original spartan-at-best, flat-HTML help content that was released with a web-based program, all of which was "context-sensitive" via mapping to #Name destinations within the old help  web page. To make it work, we have a JavaScript that maps the old #Name destinations to the new WebHelp MapIDs and redirects the old help web page to a subdirectory that has the WebHelp output files. But, it's not working correctly. If we invoke WebHelp via
HH_DISPLAY_TOC, the new WebHelp opens within the frameset, but the context-sensitive mapping doesn't work.
The programmer says we need a way to call help using a URL. So, I sent him what it says in the RH help system for programmers:
    RH_ShowHelp(0, "IQ_Help/util_en.html", HH_HELP_CONTEXT, HelpTag)
I also sent him a PDF of the RH help topics for programmers about calling WebHelp.
From what I gather reading the JavaScript (and I am NOT a programmer), he has set HelpTag as the variable for the Map ID that is provided in a .properties file.
Tried unsuccessfully using the following ways of calling it (not as sequential lines of code, but as replacement methods of the same line of code):
    RoboHelp_ShowHelp(http://[servername]/IQ_Help/util_en.html, 0)
    RH_ShowHelp(0, "IQ_Help/util_en.html>UUGuide%20SPi",HH_HELP_CONTEXT, HelpTag)
    RH_ShowHelp(0, "IQ_Help/util_en.html>UUGuide%20SPi",HH_DISPLAY_TOC, HelpTag)
    http://[servername]/robohelp/rest/robowindow?wtype=ctx&context=HelpTag <-as a call to URL
I'm sorry, I'm looking like a real idiot around here -- I really don't know much at all about Java or JavaScript, and I have never had to direct a programmer through how to get the help call to work, and I'm at the end of his patience with me... I don't know where else to turn...I need some insight from YOU.
I thought about providing the text of the JavaScript here, but I don't know for sure whether it would show up as text, or how to make it an attachment that's safe. Please tell me...?
    Thanks in advance,
    Rene

  • Firefox doesn't display Romanian diacritics properly (Google Fonts)

    Hello,
I have a blog on Blogger, which is in Romanian. I am using Arimo (Google Font). I tested my blog on several popular browsers (Google Chrome, Opera, even Internet Explorer) to check if the diacritics are displayed properly. They work perfectly on all 3 browsers.
However, on Firefox, only two of them work Î & Â, while the other three (Ș, Ț, Ă) are replaced with another font. What could be the problem? I would love for all my visitors to see the same design, regardless of the browsers they use. Can you help? Thanks in advance.
Here's an image, to better understand my issue - http://i.imgur.com/257QyId.png

The link for my blog is http://ferdy.ro
@guigs2 - thank you filling a bug report.
    @cor-el,
As you can see, if you access my blog, it displayes the Arimo font, yet three Romanian diacritics (ș, ț, ă) are displayed with the Arial font. I used the sans-serif trick in my CSS code and it sort of fixes the problem, but not entirely.
Arimo has tons of diacritics (including Romanian diacritics) and special characters, yet this issue occurs only on Firefox and Yandex (tested today), however it is displayed properly in Chrome, Opera and even Internet Explorer.
The 'Allow pages to index...' setting is already enabled on my browser. Also, the Page Inspector generates a 'Not found' for me. This is weird, if it was because of the font, then it shouldn't work on all the browsers.
If there is nothing I can about it, then I'll switch to Arial entirely or keep it this way - it's very important for me to have the same design on all of the browsers.

  • Firefox doesn't display text boxes or windows propertly

Hello, most of the time on many websites only a portion of the textbox bounadry lines show or none at all.
This can be difficult when it doesn't show at all when I need to move my cursor to starting inputting text, aside from it looking unsightly.
Also somtimes windows that were intended to have a lined border don't show or only so partly, I know this because I have another computer running same version of firefox with windows xp beside the computer I am having trouble with to compare.
The computer os I am using that I am having problems with firefox is windows 8.1.
All my windows and video drivers are up to date. I've tried disabling firefox hardware acceleration to no effect.
    Thanks for any help.

Thanks Guys for all your attempts to help...none worked.
In the process of trying different things my "My PC" icon disappeared because I was trying to change my account settings to Administrative privileges because I was trying to access the firefox file folder that had profiles so I could delete them. Apparently they were hidden in user folder, but that user folder was hidden and in the attempt to make it visible it denied me access because I didn't have admin rights....
...so in the end I just re-installed win 8.1 and now all the web pages display properly...don't know why..but at least it displays better now.

  • Flash plugin is installed and enabled, but Firefox doesn't recognize content.

I have the latest version of flash player installed and enabled. When I go to Adobe's test page, it recognizes the install and lists the correct version number, but the test animation at the top of the page fails to load properly. Also, the applications handler in Firefox's 'options' menu fails to list any flash compatible file types. On YouTube, I'm met with the video throbber stuck, unmoving, against a black rectangle. Right clicking the video and trying to view the 'settings' dialog does nothing.
I have tried deleting 'pluginreg.dat' and a number of other solutions I've found online, but nothing has made a difference. My other plugins (java, acrobat, etc.) all work fine. Thanks, in advance, for any help.

  • Firefox doesn't display my html properly (Like it is looking like on my editor). Explorer displays the page like my html editor.

    Hello,
I develop my web site with a html editor. When I use preview, everything is fine. If I use Explorer, everything is fine also but if I use Firefox to display the page, the images and text are not where they should be.

If you use MS software to generate page code then make sure that you disable VML (MS Office) code in the web authoring settings. Otherwise only IE will be able to display that website properly.
You can see VML as green comments in the View > Page Source.
