Firefox doesn't list javascript in preference  content. How do I enable javascript?

"Enable javascript" not listed as an option on firefox content preferences. How do I enable javascript?

That option had been removed a long time ago; now you use about:config in the address bar, then set javascript.enabled to true:

I've followed instructions to remove problem, still exists, how do I get Iphoto to open?

    Option 1
Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose to Rebuild iPhoto Library Database from automatic backup.
    If that fails:
    Option 2
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. This will create a new library based on data in the albumdata.xml file. Not everything will be brought over - no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your albums and keywords back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one. .

  • How to disable 'Enable JavaScript' and 'Display PDF in browser' in Adobe Reader 9.1 msi?

I'd like to how to disable 'Enable JavaScript' and 'Display PDF in browser' in Adobe Reader 9.1 msi.
    Any help would be appreciated.

    NeoChang:
You can modify the installation package using the Adobe Customization Wizard to toggle the "Display PDF in Browser" but I have not found a setting to disable JavaScript from the Wizard. I have created a script which makes the changes, but it has to be run for every user since that info is stored in the User hive of the Windows registry.
    Disable JavaScript:
    REG ADD "HKCU\SOFTWARE\Adobe\Acrobat Reader\9.0\JSPrefs" /v bEnableJS /d 0 /t REG_DWORD /f
    Disable Browser Integration:
    REG ADD "HKCU\Software\Adobe\Acrobat Reader\9.0\Originals" /v bBrowserIntegration /d 0 /t REG_DWORD /f

  • How can I enable javascript in my cellphone?

I would like to enable javascript in my cellphone , samsung intensity 2, but no idea how, How can I enable javascript?

    Hello desiree7790!
I understand your desire to change or enable web browser settings on your Samsung Intensity II.  I would like to assist you with your device.
The device you have has web capabilities using a feature called "Mobile Web".  It's not a full web browser, such as one you would find on a smartphone device, but does offer a limited mobile web experience.  There are no options on your device to enable Javascript; however, there are web settings you can adjust.  The instructions for accessing these settings are found on page 91 of your device manual, which I've included in a link here.
I trust I have answered your question, and have addressed your concern.

  • How do I enable JavaScript in FireFox 26.0

Suddenly I cannot access any of my banking accounts online as they all ask me to Enable JavaScript (have been using them all for years with FireFox0. Also, I cannot even use my Facebook account or log on anymore.
Everything is asking me to ENABLE JAVASCRIPT and I can find nowhere in FireFox 26 to allow me to do this?
    Please help.

Yes, you can no longer do this in Tools > Options > Content.
That setting has been removed from the user interface, so you need to check the related javascript.enable pref on the <b>about:config</b> page instead to make sure it is set to true.
You can also check your extensions:
Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode|Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance).
*Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe Mode start window.

  • Firefox doesn't open facebook's login page,how can I do?

from a day to another, firefox doesn't even open the facebook's login page!I don't know what to do!! it opens all the other websites ,but not facebook!
== URL of affected sites ==
    http://www.facebook.com

    Hello Laura.
Does this also happen on other browsers? If it's only Firefox, try clearing your cache: http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/How+to+clear+the+cache
If that doesn't work, try deleting your Facebook cookies (no data will be lost): https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Deleting+cookies
If that doesn't help, it's possible that you are having a problem with some Firefox add-on that is hindering your Firefox's normal behavior. Have you tried disabling all add-ons (just to check), to see if Firefox goes back to normal?
Whenever you have a problem with Firefox, whatever it is, you should make sure it's not caused by one (or more than one) of your installed add-ons, be it an extension, a theme or a plugin. To do that easily and cleanly, run Firefox in [http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Safe+Mode safe mode] (don't forget to select ''Disable all add-ons'' when you start safe mode). If the problem disappears, you know it's from an add-on. Disable them all in normal mode, and enable them one at a time until you find the source of the problem. See [http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Troubleshooting+extensions+and+themes this article] for information about troubleshooting extensions and theme and [https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Troubleshooting+plugins this one] for plugins.
If you need support for one of your add-ons, you'll have to contact its author.

  • How do I enable javascript on per-URL basis?

Important: NoScript add-on is not the answer!
I am trying to secure my Firefox so that by default all scripting is disabled, but can be enabled on per-URL basis. It seems that Firefox itself doesn't have an option for that, and I have to use add-ons. Unfortunately, all add-ons I tried, including NoScript, require javascript to be globally enabled in Firefox (Tools -> Options -> Content -> Enable Javascript). Then they apply their settings, including whitelist. I am not satisfied with this kind of solution, because if something prevents an add-on from running or forces it to stop, the global setting of "enable javascript" kicks in and suddenly all pages can use scripting.
    1) Is it technically possible to get a per-URL control with "Enable Javascript" set to disabled?
    2) Is there any kind of UI where I could set it so? There are very few websites where I allow javascript, so even something like manually creating an extension is fine with me.

    You can't disable JavaScript globally.<br />
If you do that then it isn't possible to enable it in specific cases.<br />
The only way is to enable JS globally and either disable it by default (NoScript) or enable it by default (YesScript) and change the setting for a specific web page.
Adblock Plus also can block JavaScript.

  • How do I enable Javascript in Foxfire 29.0?

about:config does not give me a box with preferences so I can toggle Javascript on/off. When I try to download the add-ons for enabling Javascript to be toggled, they won't download -- I get a message that they are not compatible with Firefox 29.0.
I need Javascript to access the websites I most frequently use: my banks, my credit cards, my Gmail accounts, and YouTube.
None of the articles on Javascript seem to apply to my situation: I get a message that Javascript is NOT enabled.
I am running it in Windows 7, Service Pack 1.

This solution didn't work, because the page was redirecting and never arrived. It might have been because I was using Internet Explorer, which also is not Javascript enabled -- but the Mozilla Support Forum requires Javascript enabled in order to access it!
I used Chrome, and was able to toggle it when the about:config field ''finally'' opened. The originally posted instructions omitted the instruction that the command about:config will only work if you do it from the Firefox home screen, where the orange word 'Firefox' appears at the beginning of the destination.

The website may have a preference for Flash before using Javascript.  Try a different browser like Skyfire (or whatever.)  Regardless, if it's using Flash, it's probably not going to work very well with the iPad.

As has been discussed here about a trillion times, there is no Flash or Java on the iPad.  You are SOL.
Just an FYI, Java is not the same a Javascript.  Safari on the iPad has Javascript, but not all websites work correctly with mobile versions of web browsers.

I've followed the instructions to permit cookies, but every time I change this setting, it changes back to Never Remember History. This was happening before with earlier Firefox. Now its happening with 34.0.5. I'm using Windows Vista.

  • How do I enable Javascript in Foxfire 29.0? about:config does not work.

I've just downloaded the newest available Foxfire (29.0) in the hope I can access my gmail account. But it still says "Javascript is not enabled". about:config does NOT show a preferences menu, so I can't toggle Javascript on. I tried downloading add-ons to toggle Javascript on/off, but they are not compatible with Firefox 29.0.
Must I stop using Firefox altogether? I cannot access my banks, my credit cards, or my gmail accounts, nor can I access YouTube. This is all I use my browser for -- so Firefox is no longer useful to me, unless you can give me a fix for this!

  • How do I enable javascript if there is no option to enable javascript - follow-up

I have read the solution on about:config solution in the original post, but when I when there, I found Java is already enabled - the default configuration.
I am running Noscript, yet I am prompted on virtually every page, to allow or forbid scripting for that page. How am I to know whether any particular site has malicious scripts on it? First, I cannot see the scripts, secondly I don't understand or know what the scripts actually DO, and thirdly, I'm not a coder so the whole field is out of my depth (i.e. deciding whether or not a script is "malicious").
One other thing: there are prompts to allow several sites, but how does a user know if any of them is safe or malicious? Any site could be hacked...including YOURS.
One more thing: when I tried to submit this question, I received an "ACCESS DENIED" error and when I returned to my question page, all my typing had been erased. I have had to retype everything. It seems I did not allow google analytics to submit, but why should this be necessary??
I like being protected from myself, but how do I know "MYSELF" is a danger, when Java is enabled by default, in reality every user is exposed to dangers by default.

Thank you for your prompt reply! And the link to quickjava. I will try it.
However, it does not solve the issue of how I determine which sites to allow or block.
Also, if Java is enabled, it implies that Noscript doesn't DISABLE it...I don't understand this. However Noscript is obviously working from the number of discrete pages I have to allow.
I assume I will have the same confusion with quickjava - what to allow of forbid.

  • I have a macbook and I use the trackpad to zoom in some windows. On the new version of firefox, this option appears to be disabled. How can I enable it again? thanks

the option is called "pinch open and close".

When you try to use the Mac side on your external monitor do you get a blank screen or do you see the aurora background?
It would help to know which one of the 9 different models of MacBook you have. To see which model you have go to the Apple in the upper left corner and select About This Mac, then click on More Info. When System Profiler comes up check the Model Identifier and post it back here.

  • Snow Leopard finder doesn't list all files on Windows 7 volumes

From my Macbook Pro (10.6.8), I can connect to my Mac Pro, while it is running Windows 7 in Boot Camp, in order to access the Mac Pro's 6 volumes (1 Boot Camp, 5 Mac volumes). This is using SMB via Finder's 'Connect to server…' on an Airport network.
However, Finder never displays all the files and folders on any of the Mac volumes it connects to through Windows 7. It seems to show approximately the first 18-9 files and folders, and then nothing. The same applies when I open a nested folder — it doesn't list all of its contents.
Any ideas as to what's causing this and how I can fix it? I have searched all over but can't find any answers yet, so I'm hoping someone here has seen this before.

Thanks for the reply, but I do have the Restore Windows box checked (see below). And the Resume features info (cnet link) only addresses how to turn the feature off, either selectively or globally. I'm simply looking for the functionality that I had with Snow Leopard and now seems to be absent. Maybe it's a bug in my Finder.
