Firefox download manager will not work

Firefox would not load so I uninstalled it and tried to download a new version. I can download the install manager but it will not complete.

Hello,
Certain Firefox problems can be solved by performing a ''Clean reinstall''. This means you remove Firefox program files and then reinstall Firefox. Please follow these steps:
'''Note:''' You might want to print these steps or view them in another browser.
#Download the latest Desktop version of Firefox from http://www.mozilla.org and save the setup file to your computer.
#After the download finishes, close all Firefox windows (click Exit from the Firefox or File menu).
#Delete the Firefox installation folder, which is located in one of these locations, by default:
#*'''Windows:'''
#**C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox
#**C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox
#*'''Mac:''' Delete Firefox from the Applications folder.
#*'''Linux:''' If you installed Firefox with the distro-based package manager, you should use the same way to uninstall it - see [[Installing Firefox on Linux]]. If you downloaded and installed the binary package from the [http://www.mozilla.org/firefox#desktop Firefox download page], simply remove the folder ''firefox'' in your home directory.
#Now, go ahead and reinstall Firefox:
##Double-click the downloaded installation file and go through the steps of the installation wizard.
##Once the wizard is finished, choose to directly open Firefox after clicking the Finish button.
More information about reinstalling Firefox can be found [https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/troubleshoot-and-diagnose-firefox-problems?esab=a&s=troubleshooting&r=3&as=s#w_5-reinstall-firefox here].
<b>WARNING:</b> Do not run Firefox's uninstaller or use a third party remover as part of this process, because that could permanently delete your Firefox data, including but not limited to, extensions, cache, cookies, bookmarks, personal settings and saved passwords. <u>These cannot be recovered unless they have been backed up to an external device!</u>
Please report back to see if this helped you!
Thank you.

  • I bought a new computer but the Adobe Download Manager will not allow me to download software?

I have already installed software onto two computers - a laptop and desktop, but now I have a bought a new desktop computer (imac), and I cannot get the Adobe Download Manager to download the software onto it. I have deleted the Adobe Cloud software from the old computer, and have the Adobe Download Manager (that works fine on the laptop) on the new desk computer, but it will not allow me to download anything other than trials with a 30 day limit. I am paying my monthly Adobe Cloud sub so getting very frustrated.

I know... I deleted and then realised I should have uninstalled. Stupid of me.
However, maybe people at Adobe read this or something, cos it has suddenly started working fine.
    Thanks for reply BTW.

  • Browser.download.manager.scanWhenDone not working

I have browser.download.manager.scanWhenDone set to false but my downloaded files are still blocked. I remember this was working well in the past.

Button '''Unblock''' work's fine ! But every file downloaded by Firefox is flagged as "came from another computer on internet...". In the past by using those two settings from above Firefox was just saving files to downloaded location '''without telling to OS''' that those files came from another location so I don't have to right click every file and click Unblock from it's properties. It is annoying :(

  • Firefox 4.0 will not work with my Knology email service when 3.6 will, why not?

I've cut and pasted the Knology response to my question. As you can read below, Knology states it is Firefox issue.
    Mr. Stanley,
Thank you for contacting Knology Technical Support. I do apologize that you are having problems accessing the webmail service with Firefox. As the error message states this is a problem with Firefox dropping support for some type of code. The way its worded makes me assume that it will be available as a plug in or extension for Firefox, but we do not know what they have dropped out of the base browser. Both Internet Explorer and Google Chrome have no problems accessing the webmail.
    Thank you for choosing Knology,
    Roy

You can get Firefox 3.6 from http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all-older.html

  • Adobe Reader 8.1 Downloads but will not work

I'm running WIN XP. I downloaded Adobe Reader 8.1 and it was successful. When I open a document, the document appears, but when I try to do anything it freezes and says 'program not responding.' When I open Adobe from the shortcut, the initial screen appears, but same thing. Any action on my part causes it to 'not respond.' I have uninstalled and reinstalled several times. I've had this problem for a while. At one point, I received a message about a registry problem of some kind, but I didn't write it down and I don't get that now. Just a non-responsive program. Any ideas? Thanks.

After doing the upgrade Adobe Reader 8.1.2 I tried to download a pattern from epattern.com that I just purchased and I get a pop-up asking for a password to open the document. I have a password with the site I am trying to download from, as that is the only I know to use, but Adobe Reader will not accept it and I don't know what other one I am supposed to use??? My e-mail address is [email protected] Thanks! Caryl

  • Downloadhelper and Realplayer download features will not work properly with Firefox 5 with will with Firefox 4 do I switched back.

Upon installing Firefox 5 then trying Download helper the download feature of Download helper worked but when trying the download and convert feature it led my to other sites to download further programs for which the new site asked me to install Firefox fist (which was already loaded), dead end.
With Realplayer there was no longer the option to download the video with Firefox 5.
When I deleted Firefox 5 and reloaded Firefox 4.0 both of the above problems vanished; now everything works fine.

  • Firefox 4.0 will not work

I had Firefox 3.6. I tried to download Firefox 4.0. After the download, I received an error message that Firefox could not run on Mac OSX

    Hi
I would strongly recommend you make sure that you are running the most up to date version of Firefox. This [https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/update-firefox-latest-version link] will show you how.
With regards to Dashlane, the support page for that product gives some guidance that will help you to make sure that it is working properly ([http://support.dashlane.com/hc/en-us/articles/202637722-How-to-install-Dashlane-on-Windows link]).
I hope this helps, but if not please come back here and we will see what we can do.

  • Firefox Silent updater will not work unless I launch Firefox.exe one time with Admin rights

I am building a Firefox 17.0.4 ESR package to use for my Enterprise. Everything is working great except for the updater piece. I am using the configuration.ini file during the install with the command MaintenanceService=true turned on, and a mozilla.cfg file with updates enabled, pref("app.update.enabled", true). I am running the install both manually, and through SCCM with Admin rights, including the maintenance service. After the install runs, I open Firefox as a limited user and go to Help->About, and it says Updates are available at www.firefox.com, and that the browser is set to the ESR release channel.
In all my troubleshooting, the only 2 sure ways I have found that make the auto updates work for a user were to run firefox.exe as an admin 1 time, or to install the base esr package as an admin after my install package. That will fix it for the logged in user only, but another user would run into the same issue. It appears that something is not installing correctly, but I cannot determine the cause.
    My install command is:
    Firefox Setup 17.0.3esr.exe /INI=%INST%\Configuration.ini

In my organization, we have removed Admin rights from all users, but use a product that can elevate any .exe with create a policy for to run with Admin rights. We have a policy set for updater.exe and it does work for future updates, just not this first update after install until Firefox itself is run as Admin for the first time. My thought is that when Firefox and the Maintenance service are installed with Admin rights through SCCM, the maintenance service should have inherited rights from that install. Forgive me if I am wrong in my conclusion.

  • Downloaded Brushes will not work!

Okay, so after a month of struggling to get Potoshop CS6 Extended Teacher Student Edition to work, I was playing around, downloading brushes and actions. The actions work. But I can't get the brushes to. I download them into the downloads file and then move them into program files > Adobe > Adobe Photoshop CS6 (64bit) > Presets > Brushes
There are some other folders. The other one is in program files > Adobe > Adobe Bridge CS6 (64bit)
Program Files (x86) > Adobe... And In that is Fllash player, Photoshop Utilites - CS6, Adobe Photoshop CS6, Adobe Extension Manager CS6, Adobe Bridge CS6 and Acrobat 5.0
Did I download it in the right place? In the program files and not Program Files (x86)
And then when I moved the files into the brushes folder, I got something that said "You'll need to provide administator premission to copy to this folder." And then it asks to countunie, skip or cancel.

Um I got a new tower, that holds 1 trigbits? Um so probally the 64. Most of the files were zipped. Abr. not zip?
    C:\Users\Your Name\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CS6\Presets\Brushes (Don't have it)
    I go to C:/Users/Owner
    But that's all I have

  • My Webpage works fine in Dreamweaver/Firefox & Safari but will not work correctly in IE. Help Please

    Hi,
I uploaded my page from Dreamweaver yesterday and it works fine in Firefox and Safari, but when i opened it on Internet explorer, the bottom tables have moved and the image links at the top have a white boarder around.
    Webpage link: http://www.gs-designproject.co.uk/home.html
    any help greatly appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Gav

The white borders around your images are created because they're embedded in links. Add the following to your style sheet:
    a img {
        border: none;
The problem with the table row at the bottom is this:
    <td colspan="760px" height="40" valign"middle"="">
The colspan attribute takes the number of columns that you're spanning, not a number of pixels. Judging from the rest of the table, it should be colspan="7".
