Firefox download problems

I have a Lenovo Yoga 11, and have an Etextbook on a website named chegg. But I cant scroll through the pages or click on any tabs once the books open, the service technition from chegg said I might want to try using Mozilla Firefox, but I cant get it to download onto my computer as everytime I try to run it, it says "This App can't run on your PC." does anyone know know a way around this problem I have finals in 2 days and really need to read! thanks for the help.

Firefox is not available for Windows RT which is the OS you have on your device so think you are SOL unless somebody has a clever way of doing it.

If downloads hang at the last minute (just before reaching 100%), the cause might be antivirus software which tries to scan the file and during that process hangs the Firefox instance.

Firefox downloads "failed". Have reset FF, been through "downloading problems" trouble doc, and uninstalled/reinstalled FF w/o luck. Safari is able to download.

Recently I am unable to download anything in FF. It briefly acts as if downloading, but the file is corrupted and the next to the file in the DL manager it just says "Failed".
I tried Resetting FF. No luck.
Then I tried all the steps in the "downloading problems" support doc. No luck.
I tried with all add-ons disabled. No luck.
In desperation, I searched for "Firefox" and moved two folders called Firefox, the application, and a .plist file to the trash (still there) and redownloaded Firefox and reinstalled. No luck.
If I click on a .pdf it will be be viewable, but it won't download. It's not just .pdfs that fail, it is any file I try and download.

I have the same problem and I also tried a lot of troubleshooting advices without any success.
The problem seems to be with OS X Parental Control turned on and using a other account than the one of the admin.
The user sl-nw found a short-term solutions (changing back to version 31, working like a charm or turning off Parental Control), yet a long-term solution is needed:

I chose cancel and when I rebooted the Google page the same window came up.
I don’t want to open with or it will open with something every time I come back to Google.
The best option until this is resolved is to “Save File” and that continues to down load into the “Download Firefox” folder.

Windows 8.1 ..Firefox download setup file locks up on "Installing" window

When the Firefox downloaded setup file is run (Firefox Setup Stub 31.0.exe) , 1st thing appearing is a window saying "Firefox Setup...Your about to enjoy..." It has a green moving downloading bar that continues to run forever without any result. I let it run for an hour without any change to the window. On the bottom of the window it says "One moment, Firefox will launch as soon as the install is complete" To the right of that, it has a CANCEL button. WHAT IS WRONG...HOW CAN I GET THIS TO INSTALL?

I have to say though, right before I tried your suggestion, I did an UPDATE/RESTART. It took a long time for it to complete, so it must have loaded more Windows updates and maybe that was the problem.. but maybe not, too.

After I hit run, and firefox downloads, the pop up window doesn't display..what do I do?

I go to their webpage, I hid firefox download, I hit run, then nothing happens after it downloads. No pop up screen or anything. I've searched my laptop files and folders, but no firefox is displayed.

Same problem for me.
1. Cannot connect to wifi as icloud password pop up keeps appearing.
2. tried deleting account. UNable to do so.
3. tried resetting password by logging into apple id through desktop as mentioned in one of the responses in another thread. Unfortunately the apple id to be reset is the same as being prompted by icloud and hence unable to reset the same.
Feel like breaking the **** ipad into bits. Stupid of apple to let such a bug in and not offer support !!

Anyone notice that Firefox downloads and load a page a lot slower then Dolphin HD? That has been my experience all morning. I'm on Verizon Droid 2.
I been testing various web pages using Dolphin & Firefox Mobile, and I have noticed that in general, web pages takes longer to download and slower to render in Firefox Mobile then in Dolphin HD. It is not a cache issue as I clear my cache between tries.

You have to push the orange button twice. First time it only drops. Only if you click in the right corner it works???

IPhoto '08 may break Firefox download capability

Just an FYI if you are having problems with Firefox after installing iLife '08:
After installing iLife '08 I was getting the following error in Firefox 2.0.0.6 whenever I tried to download any file from any site:
"/Library/Application Support/iPhoto/Themes/Shared/Baby/Icons/BabyBoy/babyboy-blank-hlines.tiff /tempfilename could not be saved, because an unknown error occurred. Try saving to a different location."

Now I wasn't trying to save to that location in the first place, so I changed my default save location in Firefox to the Desktop and I still received the same error. I deleted my entire Firefox profile and I still received the same error. I reinstalled a clean copy of Firefox, same problem. I deleted iPhoto's Application Support subfolder and it fixed the problem. I have reinstalled iPhoto '08 fresh and the problem has not come back... yet.

Welcome to the Apple Discussions. As Terence mentioned the boot drive requires adequate space for cache, memory pageout and system cache files. It's strongly recommended that a minimum of 10 GB be maintained or more for best performance.
You can regain some free space by running Monolingual to remove the unneeded language modules. Be sure to not remove the English modules. If you're on an intel Mac do not run any of the other option in Monolingual. I saved nearly 2.5 GB the first time I ran it on my MBP.

TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've written an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. I download updates cc cleaner ad aware which I am told have been downloaded but the Firefox Download screen is blank!!

CNET tell me which programs on my PC need updating ie CC Cleaner. Ad Aware and similar. So I download the updates and get a message at the bottom of the screen that tells me the updates have been downloaded.
But the screen Firefox Downloads is blank. There is no list of the downloads so I cannot go any further ie instal them!!

Something is blocking the download. Prabably because this is an exe file. There is a Norton Antivirus Corporate Edition installated, but I cannot find where the restriction is defined.
I am not that familiar with whether there is a some Windows configuration effecting this restriction
Also I am using Verizon FIOS, I do not suppose this is a source of the problem.

How do I stop firefox downloading files as a blank webpage?

By mistake I recently changed a Firefox download setting that now makes all files I try to download as blank web pages. When the window comes up and asks me for what I want Firefox to do with the file it says Firefox (default) and when I open the file it opens a blank webpage. So far I've tried numerous things including resetting to the factory state and completely uninstalling and reinstalling the browser. Some help with this would be much appreciated.

You can check for problems with preferences.
Delete possible user.js and numbered prefs-##.js files and rename (or delete) the prefs.js file to reset all prefs to the default value including prefs set via user.js and prefs that are no longer supported in the current Firefox release.

Note that you should be cautious with opening files in Firefox via the open with dialog because Firefox shouldn't ask if it could handle this file internally.
