Firefox downloads and opens .doc file, but only downloads .docx files; would like to open both types automatically.
Is there a setting so that the .docx files open automatically just as do the doc files?

the cursor includes a text box from a previous image or link when the cursor is positioned on the side of the page. it will mainly happen when i hit "back" from the page i was on. i click and it goes away but only to return again on the next launched page. i also keep several tabs open and it will carry over to any one of them i go to. how do i get rid of this?

I would like to uninstall firefox 4 and then reinstall it, but how do I save my book marks?
I would like to uninstall firefox 4 and then reinstall it, but I don't want to lose all of my bookmarks. The actual problem is a persona that won't stay changed. We change it, but every time we close Firefox it goes back to the Persona we changed it from when we start up Firefox again. I was just planning on uninstalling and reinstalling Firefox, but, like I said, I don't want to lose my bookmarks. How do I save my bookmarks in Firefox 4?
You could always remove/disable the Persona that you don't want. Go to Add-ons > Appearance, and then just disable/remove the offending Persona.
Though, if you really want to save your bookmarks:
Bookmarks > Show All Bookmarks > Which will open the Library > Look for Import and Backup > Backup...> and it will prompt to you save the file somewhere. To add them back into Firefox, go back to the library > Import and Backup again > Restore > Choose File... > and then open the file you saved earlier. -
hey guyys .if some 1 from firefox team can help it wud be great......I was using firefox 3.6.3 on Mac OS 10.5.8 and Today I installed firefox 3.0(besides application folder) but not in same application folder like firefox 3.6.3 ...so now i had 2 firefox version 3.6.3 and 3.0....I had 3.6.3 already open ..i closed it to... open 3.0 ....when i opened 3.0 it asked me to import settings i said no....it opened well.....then i close 3.0 and tried to open 3.6.3 version ...now it was a problem everything got lost sessions, bookmarks, add ons, etc....it went back to default ....when i had 2 profiles in 3.6.3.....can any pls help me on dis 1...is there a way to restore my sessions, bookmarks and add ons ??? I have uninstalled 3.0 version now....??? pls pls pls ....help

== todayIt turns out that the problem had to do with network accounts, even though it was not clear at first. Redirecting the program to the local machine's cache with a network home redirector script fixed the issue. Thanks anyway.

I can no longer access my mac mail in the Mail program - only on icloud. I would like to have both my aol account and mac account in one place like it was. Anything I can do?
iCloud's mail server settings are different from MobileMe's. Strictly speaking Lion 10.7.2 is required for iCloud, and on that Mail is set up automatically.
Snow Leopard cannot access most of iCloud's facilities, however you can set Mail up manually to access your email. The method is described here:

iCloud cannot access your AOL account (the MobileMe facility for checking external POP accounts does not exist in iCloud) - you will have to do this in the Mail application in the usual way. You could of course set up forwarding from your AOL account to iCloud (assuming they provide this facility) but you will not be able to reply using iCloud's SMTP server with anything other than the iCloud address as the 'From' address. -
Hello, I purchased Adobe as a download a few years ago and installed in on a Mac Pro. I would like to uninstall it on that mac and install it on a new Mac Pro. Any idea how I can do that?
Just download, install, and activate using your serial number. You are allowed to have the software installed and activated on two machines. If you do not wish to retain the original installation as a backup you can deactivate it by opening one of the programs and choosing Help -> Deactivate.

I have an old iphone and have a new one as well. I would like to use my old on as an ipod but itunes not longer recognizes it. Any ideas? I have been using it for a month with no problems until tonight. I restarted my computer..still no fix.
Looks like its fixed. I am syncing it now. A lot of the answers are for the new iphone so i had to mess with a bunch of settings as well. My old phone is now an 8 gig ipod. the books app no longer works and that *****.....but better than nothing...
