Firefox.exe: Ordinal number 491 was not found. Urlmon.dll.

When I start Firefox I get an error message telling me that the Ordinal number 491 was not found in the DLL library. Urlmon.dll.
I can still use firefox, but it's quite annoying. I've tried reinstalling.

Does this also happen in another Windows user account?
Any luck with starting Windows in Safe mode?
Try to boot the computer in Windows Safe mode with network support (press F8 on the boot screen) as a test to see if that helps.

Ever since I installed Safari 5.1 on my PC (XP) I can no longer access the pdf files on my website. I have no problems with Chrome and Firefox. I keep on getting a message from WebKit2WebProcess.exe that the LogTransport2.dill was not found. (I HATE PCs...) I tried reinstalling Acrobat 9. I tried reinstalling Safari. I even tried an older version of Safari. Nothing Helped. Others have tried it on their machine, and it worked fine. But I do not know what is the matter with mine. I was updating Firefox to the newest version 7.0.1 from version 6.0.2 I think it was, I clicked the restart Firefox button that always comes up after updating. It started updating and then Firefox never restarted like it was supposed to after it was done updating. I then tried to open Firefox and it told me "This application has failed to start because xul.dll was not found." I did have Firefox crash on maybe about 30 minutes or so earlier which bothered me because I have been using Firefox for years and never had it crash on me before but I didn't think much of it at the time it happened because I was able to go back onto Firefox and finish what I had been working on. A while later I checked for updates and updated. The first time I tried to update it didn't work though so I had to shutdown Firefox and reopen Firefox and start the update a second time. It was after the second time that when I tried to open Firefox I got that message about failing to start because xul.dll can't be found. I filed a crash report when my Firefox crashed. This would have been around 1am-2am in the morning that Firefox first crashed and then wouldn't allow me to open it after updating. I have a DELL laptop running the Windows XP operating system but the laptop is probably at least 6 or 7 years old. The laptop will no longer charge so I always have to have it plugged into an outlet. Both my laptop hard drive and my external hard drive give me messages that I am running out of disk space on my hard drive. I bought this laptop 6 or 7 years ago second hand so it could be even older. In short it's a piece of crap and it gives me all kinds of issues but I currently can't afford a new one, but I have never had any problems with Firefox and I use Firefox more than any other aspect of my laptop so it's really really bothering me. May you please help me fix it?

Unfortunately I tried that and it didn't work. Thanks for the help though. I tried to uninstall and it said I couldn't because the file is corrupt or something, but I think I finally got it uninstalled and/or deleted or whatever, but now I try to reinstall/download it again from the beginning and I can't. No matter what I do I can not get Firefox working again. No matter how many times I try to redownload it. Any other suggestions?

With that one, first try uninstalling and reinstalling your MobileMe Control Panel for Windows, robin. Does that make the error go away?

When I try to open Firefox I receive this message, "Application has failed to start because ssl3.dll was not found." HELP!

I've been using Firefox for about 3 years. Today, I ran a scan of my computer Webroot Anti Virus and deleted all "risky stuff" they checked. Don't know if this is a coincidence but right after the scan I could not open Firefox. I receive the message, "Application has failed to start because ssl3.dll was not found. Reloading application may remedy this." I reloaded Firefox, the current version, clicked on open and received the same message. I've reloaded Firefox 3 more times with the same results. Now I need HELP.

See if you can make Webroot restore that file in the Firefox program folder (C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\).<br />
If not then you need to reinstall Firefox and make sure that Webroot doesn't do that another time.

Yesterday afternoon I was suddenly bombarded with literally masses of viruses, and since then my firefox has become completely unresponsive. There is an error message stating that "netlkr.dll was not found," and I have no idea whatsoever what exactly that means. I would very much appreciate some help here. Hey I finally got an older vesion of itunes to work!!! 10.7 x64 for windows 7
After uninstalling all apple products even quicktime
I had to delete everything from (program files, and program files x64, program data,)
And all downloads from apple, and I went in to search deleted other stuff from apple, and itunes
But definently not my itunes library and Playlist
Down loaded 10.7 x64 for windows 7, but checked (do not start when done)
Then I emptied my recycling bin and restarted my PC
I ran geek tech tool box same as reg cure pro, also PC Tools registry cleaner, and CC Cleaner

And wallah... It finally works, and I Love the older version anyways.

Same problem today. Took five times to reinstall without any error messages. Apple has posted a way to fix and you should follow their's first. I finally got to upldate correctly by doing their fix but with one difference. I did the following:
1) Went to the C:\program files (x86)\iTunes and C:\program files\iTunes folders and moved every file ending in .dll to the desktop (even if two files in same location had the same name, just replace)
2) Restarted computer and still got error message
3) Uninstalled all apple programs possible in the following order......itunes, apples software update, apple mobile device support, bonjour, and apple application support.....all performed using the microsoft control panel
4) put all the .dll files on the desktop in the trash and emptied (this is a step apple support did not specifically put in their fix but for a final try I wanted to delete everything apple).
5) Restarted computer.
6) Re-installed itunes from apple website
No error messages during re-install and was able to open shortcut in one try. Even updated my ipad to make sure everything was working.

when i am trying to create clause number from Contracts Terms --> Contract Terms Library : Clauses , i found below error.

where i have setup the document sequence setup? Please help me how to resolve this issue.

The compile and manifest were completed with no complaints but when I ran the code, I got "This application has failed to start because MSVCR80.dll was not found. Re-installing the application may fix this problem.".

This is a Windows side-by-side issue not a JNI issue. As such it doesn't really
belong in this forum except as an object lesson to people who create JNI's.
I had these issues when I moved to Visual Studio 2005 - which, oddly enough,
was the version of the IDE where SxS support was not only introduced, but
enforced.
The fact that you tried to put a SxS folder in the PATH tells me you know
nothing about how SxS and manifests works. You need to learn about these
things and then your problems will become blushingly obvious.
The Binless.dll manifest must be embedded, and it must contain dependency
entries that specify the SxS requirements, including the version(s) of the
dependent libraries. Secondly, the specific version of the libraries must be
installed on the target system.
My guess is your manifest specifies a CRT version that's not installed on your
system and that is why the system is complaining. Look for the
Binless.dll.intermediate.manifest file. It will tell you what your dll expects.
Here's an example of a dll (debug version) manifest:

After upgrade to 9.01 startup of firefox gives error message MOZCRT19.dll was not found

After the upgrade to firefox 9.01 with windows xp I get every time firefox tries to launch the error message "This application has failed to start because MOZCRT19.dll was not found. Re-installing the application may fix this problem".
Well, re-installing does not fix this problem!
I even de-installed firefox, cleared all folders with the hint of mozilla or firefox in its name and did the same with the registry, re-installed firefox 9.01 but always get the same result.

If you use ZoneAlarm Extreme Security then disable Virtualization and reinstall Firefox.

Clear the cache and the cookies from sites that cause problems.
"Clear the Cache":

"Remove Cookies" from sites causing problems:

Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).
