Firefox.exe won't launch dur to a memory exception error.

When I loaded Firefox this morning, it automatically installed an update. Now the .exe file won't run giving me the error message
" The application was unable to start correctly (0xc0000056).
Attempts to run in safe mode get the same result and when I tried to reinstall I get the same issue.

Thanks, I've passed that on to theme.co.
As discussed above, I reinstalled Windows 7 a few hours ago for unrelated reasons. The "new" machine (exact same hardware, but new clean install of Windows, and now 64 bit rather than 32) does not have the problem with this particular site, even after importing my old profile back in. (Mind you, I also told MozBackup ''not'' to import the certificates from the old profile.)
This does not necessarily mean the main problem - Firefox not allowing security exceptions it should allow - is solved. However, it's certainly a positive sign.

-Business Objects Enterprise version/patch level (if applicable): Crystal Reports 12.1.0.892 - SP1
-Issue Description: Xcelsius exe won't launch - Entry Point Not Found message given
-Steps to Duplicate: When I try to open Xcelsius.exe, I receive a message box that says "Xcelsius.exe - Entry Point Not Found" "The procedure entry point ?LevelDiffToFirst@CTreeBtnCtrl@@QAEHPAU_TREEITEM@@@Z could not be located in the dynamic link library TreeBtnExtDll.dll."
I have uninstalled and re-installed Xcelsius with the same results.
Also, when I open Crystal Reports 2008, the "Crystal Reports 2008 SP1 - Software Manager" opens and shows an update available - SP2. When I try to install the update, it downloads and then displays a message the this update is only available for Crystal Reports 2008 SP1. I believe that is my current version.
After some research, I believe my CR Runtime app may be a different version than what Xcelsius.exe is expecting, but I don't know how to check or fix that. Any help is appreciated.

    Hi
I think I've managed to fix this error. I compared the TreeBtnExtDll.dll in my Xcelsius directory on the machine that wasn't working and one that was and found that the broken machine was using an older and smaller version of TreeBtnExtDll.dll. 89k and a date in 2008 I think. So I copied my newer version which was 109 k and dated 11/2009 into the C:\Program Files\Business Objects\Xcelsius directory of the broken machines and now xcelsius appears to be working fine.
I had lots of trouble installing the SP3 release because of the media issues so maybe the install wasn't complete.
Anyway, I hope this helps you

I've quoted some applicable information below for you:
iPhone and iPod touch: An unknown error (13014), (13136), or (13213) may occur after updating to iTunes 8.0.1 or later
    Solution 1
Make sure you have the latest version of iTunes installed.
    Solution 2
Quit and reopen iTunes. If the issue continues, then restart your computer.
    Solution 3
Quit iTunes, temporarily disable the anti-virus security software on your computer, then reopen iTunes and try to sync your device. If iTunes successfully syncs your iPhone or iPod touch, consult the anti-virus software vendor.

  • FireFox 9 won't launch

I recently upgraded to FF9 and after the upgrade, th eprogram won't launch. I also had the same machine reloaded (for other reasons) and installed FF for the first time and still have th esame issue.

Same here, any mouse movement freezes Firefox in 10.9.2, have to do a force quit.  I also cannot load any virtual machines with VMware Fusion with my macbook pro crashing.  I work in digital quality assurance, heavily using virtual machines and Firefox... really dissappointed in this update, it is seriously hurting my ability to work.

  • ITunes won't launch and I get a strange error message-

My iTunes will not launch and I get this strange error message: The iTunes application could not be opened. The disk could not be read from or written to. But I have no problems with the disk it is on, which is my harddisk. Help, help, help…

I have now tried a billion things: None of them work. I still get the same error message, when I try to launch iTunes after logging into my user profile. However, I can launch iTunes 6.0.1 if I create another userprofile on my computer and log into that. But that isn't very helpful. I have also tried removing iTunes 6.0.1 and installing iTunes 4.7 instead. I can actually launch that. However, I cannot connect to the iTunes music store using iTunes 4.7 nor can I play any of the music purchased from the iTunes music store. What am I to do, except curse Apple for creating a version of iTunes that many people seem to have problems with?

  • Why is my Firefox Aurora seems to be located in Program Files (x86)\Aurora\updated\firefox.exe, but that directory doesn't exist on my computer?

I'm using FusionDisplay to get a taskbar for my second monitor, and the taskbar has worked well until now. Now when I open pinned Aurora, it opens a new application and doesn't merge with the pinned down application icon.
It seems to locate the Firefox.exe to Program Files (x86)\Aurora\updated\firefox.exe, which doesn't exist. Also windows task manager right click menu for firefox.exe won't open anything when I click Open File Location.

Hi. I'm having the same problem with Final versions of Mozilla applications (FF and TB) on Win7 x64 as well. I don't have Display Fusion or the likes.
This started around FF15, and happens about every other update since. This is Very frustrating. Restarting the computer fixes it though. I'd never believe I'd have to restart the computer after pretty much about every update, major or minor. Now this happened to me for both FF19->19.02, and TB 17.0.3->17.0.4 at the same time. No other software running meanwhile.
This happens for about the 3 or 4th time. It's frustrating to have to restart every now and then for a browser update.
I'll stick to a version for both (19.0.2 and 17.0.4) forever, thanks Mozilla! Couple that with the inability of most versions of TB to sustain a longer uptime than 10-15 days with no addons and just 4 pop accounts with 50-100 emails and just one with 1000.

  • Firefox browser won't open after Windows Troubleshooter 'fixed' FrontPage XP compatibility issue with windows 7? HELP!!

The issue- Firefox browser won't launch.
The history- Ran Windows troubleshooter to 'fix' compatibility issues running FrontPage (office xp proferssional version) on Windows 7. (Front Page opened then stopped responding partway through launch before 'fix'.)
Now Front Page works (whoop-whoop!) but no Firefox :o(

I removed opentext nfs solo v14 (hummingbird) it is just worked.

  • Firefox.exe process remains after closing Firefox

I closed Firefox 5 over 45 minutes ago. At the time it closed, I had around 60 tabs open. The Firefox window closed, but now, over 30 minutes later, firefox.exe is still consuming 624 MB of memory. For the record, currently Windows Task Manager shows firefox.exe consuming 00 CPU, 639,772 K Mem Usage and a Peak Mem Usage of 771,296 K.
I'm seen this behavior at other times and, on those occasions, the firefox.exe process did eventually terminiate and release that memory. Why does firefox.exe take so long to terminate? Is this a bug or just a result of the way I use Firefox? I do tend to have a lot of tabs, 60 to 75, open at any given time. I'm guessing that's more tabs than the typical user.

I should go on to add that I have already seen the Firefox Hangs |Hang at exit document and none of these look like the obvious issue. I'm running Java Version 1.6.0_26, so current there. I'm not running any of the listed Internet security software. The only extensions I'm running are Java Console 6.0.26, ReloadEvery 5.0.0 and Xmarks 4.0.1, so not a lot of extensions.

  • Microsoft Office X- won't launch anymore

    Hi:
I have Microsoft Office X- All of a sudden my Microsoft Office Apps won't launch anymore. They report an error yet if I open a document it will launch Microsoft Word or PowerPoint just fine.
I have tried to replace the Microsoft Office X from a Super Duper back up but it also is still failing to launch.
I am guessing "launch services" is goofed up. Does anyone know how to fix this issue?
    Thank you,
    Reid

I don't think it is an Intel based problem. I have a G5 iMac and a legal old MS office v.X upgrade on top of office 2001 version. Worked fine until a few weeks ago except for a few years needing to keep current with the latest XML free MS converter. Repaired disk/permissions. Dug out all of the app/preferences from my user/library. Reinstalled and it checked with MS mothership. However, still crashes on launch. I think perhaps the most recent OSX security update?

  • I am trying to launch Firefox 9.0.1 on Windows 7 but the application window isnt visible even though there is a firefox.exe process running in task manager.

I am trying to launch Firefox 9.0.1 on Windows 7 but it isnt working. I try to launch it and the application window does not show. When I look at the task manager and then look at the Applications tab, Firefox isnt listed. If I go to the Processes tab, there is a firefox.exe*32 process listed. Each time I double click the Firefox icon, a new firefox.exe process is spawned but there is never a visible instance of the Firefox application.
There are no errors in the application logs. I end up just having to kill the processes.
I tried launching in safe mode by holding down the shift button but the same thing happens.
Any suggestions on what to try? It has never worked since upgrading from version 8. I tried un-installing and re-installing

I went through everything mentioned in the link you posed and nothing detailed there resolved the problem.
The Profile folder didnt exist so I created it. Made sure the perms were good and that it was not read only.
There are no default folders appearing under the profile folder when I start Firefox.
I have Firefox installed to my E drive.
Nothing happens. The process appears in the task manager but no application shows up.
Cant start it in safe mode, cant run the profile manager.

  • Firefox won't start can't find firefox.exe in processes

I recently was having problems with my computer where it would crash and I had to do a system restore. I am now not able to open firefox, I found this page explaining how to fix the problem:http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Firefox+will+not+start?s=icon+won%27t+open&as=s The solution says to delete the process of firefox.exe in the task manager, however I can't find this process. Any help?

  • Acrobat X intermittently won't launch, multiple Acrobat.exe processes hanging in task manager

Apologies if this is in the wrong community area - I was unsure where it belongs.
This is an intermittent issue, but does happen several times a day.
Regardless of what method is used to launch Acrobat (double-clicking a PDF, clicking the shortcut in the taskbar, selecting Acrobat from the start menu), often the application won't launch. Upon investigation, task manager shows multiple instances of Acrobat.exe, although the application is not running (see the image below). Ending all Acrobat.exe processes does allow Acrobat to launch.
Any thoughts as to what might be causing this, as well as a more permanent fix? The workaround of constantly ending multiple processes is becoming cumbersome.
We are running Acrobat X Pro in Windows 7. I also have several CC 2014 apps installed (as well as a couple of earlier versions required for plugin functionality).

This happens all the time in my company with several installs of Acrobat.
The only way to fix this for us is to end each process in Task Manager as you have pointed out.
It is very time consuming in our workflow as we each operator deals with hundreds of PDFs daily, and has to do this End Process procedure several times a day.
We have done several tests and nothing seems to stop this from happening.

  • Firefox fails to launch. When I click on the shortcut nothing happens. in Taskmanager processes Firefox.exe is shown but there is nothing on my desktop. Please Help?

Firefox is failing to launch. Clicking on shortcut does nothing but start Firefox.exe process in Task Manager but nothing on my desktop or taskbar. I recieved no warning of infection from Microsoft Security Essential nor did subsequent scans with MSE and Super Anti Spyware result in anything more than a couple of harmless ad tracking cookies. Have uninstalled Firefox, cleaned registry with TuneUp Utilities and downloaded and reinstalled Firefox 7.0.1. The program still fails to launch.

Check that you do not run Firefox as Administrator.
Right-click the Firefox desktop shortcut and choose "Properties".
In the Compatibility tab, make sure that Privilege Level: "Run this program as Administrator" is not selected.
You also need to check the Properties of the firefox.exe program in the Firefox program directory.
