Firefox - Flash wants to download and reinstall after every restart

I just had a similar problem, only I wasn't given any options!! McAfee Security Scan Plus was installed without any warning, and now it wants to download and reinstall every time I restart Firefox!!
I'm not sure who's bright idea this was, but it sure is annoying!!!

I branched this into a new discussion because I wanted to dig into it more deeply with you.
What you're describing is definitely not intended behavior, but I can't quite get my head around what you're actually describing. Can you elaborate on what you mean about "it wants to download and reinstall every time I restart Firefox"? Are you getting an update prompt when you restart? Can you provide a screenshot? That would be super helpful.
It might be worthwhile to just uninstall and reinstall to see if we can get you out of this busted state.
1.) Reboot your computer. For real. Reboot.
2.) Uninstall Flash Player | Windows
3.) Reboot again.
4.) Download and install Flash Player from http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer
If you're still stuck, please let me know. I'd still like to get a picture of the dialog that you're seeing. That's super weird.

I find the easiest way to install Adobe Flash is to use the manual installers. You just need to download the installer to your computer, then run it to install Flash. For more details see http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/191/tn_19166.html#main_ManualInstaller
That link states you should uninstall earlier versions, as you don't have the version of Flash used by Firefox you can skip that step.

I had to uninstall iTunes, QT, AND my sound card and reinstall them all. Sound worked fine, but now I can't sync my iPod. Computer recognizes that "something" is hooked up (thinks it might possibly be a camera) and I get that "open with" window. In "my computer" it shows that there is an "iPod" connected, but it is pictured as a camera. In iTunes my username is no longer appearing (although account info is there) and NO devices whatsoever get listed. There is nothing wrong with my USB ports or cable. And of course Apple won't help anyone unless you pay them to. ... I am getting beyond P/Oed!!! You pay hundreds for a product and all you get are headaches with their stupid bug infested software and no support at all.
Can anyone out there help me clean up this unbelievable mess Apple and iTunes has created in my computer?

After three completely wasted days trying to figure all of this out I finally got it fixed - on my own - by reading dozens and dozens of rogue posts in indie forums from people that refuse to dish out money to have a company TRY and advise possible fixes on their own glitches.
(here's a novel idea - fix the glitches Apple. Or - don't send out updates filled with bugs in the first place)
Everything (several applications) had to be uninstalled in a very specific order and then restarted , then it all had to be verified with manual deletions of leftovers, and emptying the recycle bin, then another restart, then iT had to be reinstalled again and the system restarted again, and two more update downloads. Holy!!!
I love my little iPod touch, but I honestly must say, when this kind of thing happens (and it has several times now when I try to deal with iTunes or Apple), it makes me want to flush it down the toilet.

Recently whenever I shut down my Macpro and restart I have to download and reinstall mac OSX 10.7.(it happened twice).
I have run disk utilties and reset pram, but that doesn't seem to help.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

By default the beta version does not overwrite the release version. If you uninstall the beta just make sure that you do not select the option to "Remove my Firefox personal data"
If you want to use both versions, or just test Firefox 4, you need to create a new profile for Firefox 4 (Firefox stores user data in the profile). Using the same profile with different versions can cause problems. Once you create a new profile you can copy certain data such as bookmarks and passwords between them. You can also use Firefox Sync to keep the profile synchronized. Finally, you will need to set up shortcuts to launch the correct profile for each version.

Can no longer open firefox; profile showed lock-uninstalled and reinstalled, still cannot access

For years I have used Firefox-suddlenly it will no longer open (can access sites with another browser). After spending hours reading forums, self-helps, etc I tried looking at the profile and it had a parental.lock shown on it. I am the administrator of the computer so I know it is not computer related. I tried deleting the lock (which I appeared to be successful at, rebooting the computer but still could not access Firefox.
I then uninstalled and reinstalled Firefox and am getting a message to close the previous version of Firefox. The update will not launch.

The Firefox versions which come with many Linux distros have the default Mozilla Firefox updater disabled and use the distros built-in updater.

Problem in Downloading and Reinstalling OSX Lion via recovery HD

I am using MBP 13 inch late 2011. I have erased my Macintosh HD. Now trying to reinstall OSx 10.7 using Recovery HD. Mac is perfectly connected to Wifi, as soon as i click "Continue" to reinstall the Mac OsX 10.7, it shows me this message "To Download and Restore Mac OSx, your computer's eligibility will be verified with Apple."
I clicked "Continue"... But after few seconds of loading it showed me message "Could not fing Installation Information for this machine-Contact Apple Care"
Why is it so???
My mac is only 9 months old... And Im in Pakistan.
Need help or suggestion. How can I download and reinstall OSx again..

I think some packages have overwritten some of the working drivers of my X61t, and now all external USB hard drives (flash, or non-flash) have become painfully and unusably slow --- 4 minutes to right click and delete a file in the drive, and transfer a few MB of file from / to USB = more than 10 minutes.
System updates version 3 told me that I have the most updated system (no critical or recommended updates), but how can I download and reinstall the required system drivers of my hardware through it then?
