  • Firefox is freezing everytime I click on something no matter the page.

It doesn't matter what website I am using everytime I click on something, it loads the page correctly and then says (not responding) for 2 to 3 minutes. It hasn't crashed so far, but I am not a big fan of waiting.

Click here and follow the instructions, or if there’s a type of adware not covered by them on the computer, these ones. If you're willing to use a tool to remove it(you don't need to, but may find it easier), you can instead run Adware Medic; this link is a direct download.

  • Macbook keeper advert pops up everytime i click on something

Everytime i click on a link this macbook keeper advert just pops up until i close the tab down.
does anyone know how i can get rid of it?
    thanks

Each browser works a little differently.  Check your browser Preferences (COMMAND ,( and look for an option that allows you to 'block pop-up widows'.  This will not totally eliminate them, but will minimize them.  This is from my primary browser, Firefox:

    hey,
ive also downloaded the easyfind app but it dont seem to find the pop up anywhere on my mac, but its defiently there everytime i click on something.
There is nothing to search for in ths case.  It is a function of the web site.
since deleting google chrome it hasnt popped up but im worried if i reinstall it back it will appear? is this common?
It may, but to a limited extent if your follow my suggestion and 'block pop-up windows,.  It is common in that it is not unusual.

  • Firefox freezes everytime ~ OS X 10.5.8, Flash 10.3.183.10

Im also using OS X 10.5.8, Firefox 3.6.23 and have Flash 10.3.183.10 installed.  I am having a problem loading flash apps~ firefox freezes everytime and i must "force quit" firefox everytime.  In one of the gaming forums, players using chrome and other browsers are having issues as well.
On the mozilla firefox "plug-in check" page it lists all my plug ins and tells me if i need to update.
Even after I tried to do so, it still says I need to update.  Is this beacuse I am not using the latest version of flash (even though OS X 10.5 doesn't support latest version)?
Is this version of flash mentioned above the latest version that will work for me?  When i try to install updates, After I do so and restart firefox, it prompts me to do the whole process all over again~ over & over.  What the heck is going on?  Any trouble shooting tips or links would be helpful!

  • Everytime I click on something in Firefox I get system23/yehmyv.dll not valid windows image. What do I do?

I tried updating Firefox but still get the same message. When I used Explorer (YUCK) I did not get the message even though I went to some of the same sites. The entire message reads: DLL C:/WINDOWS/system32/yehmyv.dll (should be back slashes) If I click ok it goes away but comes back almost everytime I click on a link. I can work with it but it is annoying and I'm worried about potential problems cropping up. I ran spyware and checked my firewall. Don't know what to do next

Also do a malware check with some malware scan programs.<br />
You need to scan with all programs because each program detects different malware.<br />
Make sure that you update each program to get the latest version of the database before doing a scan.<br />

  • Spinning wheel everytime I click on something. Help?!

I'm trying to update my software to OS X 10.6.4 to download iTunes version 9.2 so I can update my iPhone 3gs to ios4. My macbook pro is running so slow, that whenever I click on something the spinning wheel comes up and basically freezes my computer for an insane amount of time before I can continue. So, thus I've tried downloading different updates separately and it will not work.
It was working fine until last night when I tried to update with all of the available updates at once and when I turned it on after THAT failed, it has being doing this. Even now if I try to install the updates separately the spinning wheel comes up! is very frustrating. I'll take any help. Thanks.

  • I have pop up windows popping up everytime I click on something and I want to know how to stop it.

In the last few weeks when I click on something a pop-up window pops up. I have to click to close it and re-click on what I want. If I have opened Firefox and click on say open Facebook the pop-up comes up and I close it and then click on Facebook again to open it. If I'm in Pogo and click on a game a pop-up Pops up and I have to close it and click on a game again. The BLUE line at the top of the pop-up windows always has Firefox on it. It does this in any thing that is on line.
Is there a way to stop this I'm ready to change from Firefox to something else if it I can get it to stop.

MPlayerX isn't itself the problem; it was downloaded from a source that packaged adware with it. Click here and follow the instructions, or if desired, run Adware Medic.

Boot into the Recovery volume (boot with the Command + R keys held down), select Disk Utility and repair both the disk permissions and the disk.  Reboot normally and check the performance. Any improvement?

  • Freezes when I click on something

My iBook G3 500 runs OSX Panther 10.3.9 . I got it yesterday, and first time I used it, it was great. I turned it off, came back and it came up. I logged into Adium, then clicked on Firefox. It didn't do anything, and the mouse started jumping around. Then the whole thing froze. Restarted and at the apple screen with he progress spinner, the apple would turn into a circle with a line through it. I put in the OSX CD and it booted into OSX from the CD. Now it will boot into OSX without it fine, but if I click on an icon, something in the dock, or anything on the finder, it will stall for a second. Then the mouse turns into the rainbow progress spinner, then freeze.
I am getting a really bad impression on OSX, because Apple loves to make the point that Mac OSX won't freeze. But what can I do to fix my problem?

Hi, and welcome to Apple Discussions.
I got it yesterday, and first time I used it, it was great.
What did you get yesterday? The iBook or an upgrade to Panther?
How much space remains available on the hard drive? OS X requires approximately 5 GB of available hard drive space to run smoothly. That 10 GB hard drive may be a trifle cramped.
Try booting into Safe Mode. This will take quite awhile longer than a normal startup because it does a file check and repair of the hard disk.
You will see your normal desktop. Once completely started up in Safe Mode, restart normally, and go to Applications > Utilities > Disk Utility. Click on the top hard drive icon in the left sidebar and note the S.M.A.R.T. status at the bottom right of the pane. What does it say?
Select the named boot volume in the left sidebar, and repair permissions on it.
See if a little hard drive maintenance helps things out.

  • Firefox freezes everytime I try to clear the search history.

It appears I somehow got upgraded to the newest version of firefox. And everytime I try to clear the history it freezes. Then I get errors... Something about a script... or the program will just say "not responding"
Can this be fixed? If not can I download an older version which worked?

Are you clearing the cookies as well?
This problem can be caused by clearing the cookies via [[Clear Recent History]].
    * Firefox/Tools > Options > Privacy > Firefox will: "Use custom settings for history" > [X] Clear history when Firefox closes > Settings
    * Firefox > History > Clear Recent History or Tools > Clear Recent History
Try to exclude the cookies to see if that helps.
If you use [[Clear Recent History]] to clear the cookies then Firefox also tries to clear the cookies from plugins like Flash and starts a plugin-container process for each plugin and possibly for each cookie (?) and that can add extra time if there are a lot of cookies to remove and also can cause an unresponsive script error to appear.

  • Firefox freezes when i click add ons options

Also NONE of my add-ons are working... they dont do what their supposed to do. No add on i download works, i have firefox 7.0.1.
For example these are some add ons i downloaded, Firebug, Personas, ImTranslator, Download helper. (Basicly when i click on options on any add on it freezes and doesnt do anything and I cant do anything on firefox so i have to close it with Windows Task Manager.

Delete the files extensions.* (extensions.rdf, extensions.cache, extensions.ini) and compatibility.ini in the Firefox [[Profiles|profile folder]] to reset the extensions registry.
    See "Corrupt extension files": http://kb.mozillazine.org/Unable_to_install_themes_or_extensions
If you see disabled extensions that are not compatible on the next start in "Tools > Add-ons > Extensions" then click the "Find Updates" button to do a compatibility check.
