Firefox freezes frequntly. I need to click any other software window then go back and the ff window is active again
Firefox 3.6.12 freezes up continuously even after pc restarts and virus scans. If i click on anything in Firefox then I need to click on any other open program window and return to Firefox for me to be able to take my next action in Firefox.
just to go get "trouble shooting information" copy and paste t below, I had to click on media player 5 different time to keep reactivating Firefox to complete the process
Does that happen only on web pages that are running a Flash presentation? <br />
When Flash "steals focus" from Firefox, you need to click outside the Flash presentation in the browser window, to regain focus in Firefox. A major problem arises when the Flash presentation is in the entire browser window, though. The Firefox developers are working on fixing that in Firefox, but it doesn't look like a fix is going to make it into Firefox 4.0, though.

You may be able to restore individual items, or even an entire backup, as long as you don't happen to hit the damaged area(s). But yes, your only real option is to erase the disk and start over. When you do that, you might want to take the time to have Disk Utility write zeros to the entire disk (see section (b) in the blue box of #1 in Using Disk Utility if you're not sure how to do that) -- if that fails, you know the disk itself is failing and must be replaced. If it succeeds, the drive may be ok.
And how can I prevent this in the future. I know at least I had to have a second back up disk but I never did that.
You probably don't know yet what caused it. If it's the disk failing, obviously you need a new one. Other things that can cause disk corruption are power blips, being disconnected improperly, or your Mac crashing or losing power while the disk is connected, especially during a backup.
For power problems, the best solution is a U.P.S. (battery backup) system. A good surge protector will protect against power spikes, but not dips or sudden loss of power.
I allready tried several times to change ownership with Get Info but I can’t. I don’t see a checkmark and the

Adobe Flash Player 10, when installed, closes the whole computer when it is used to play any clip from U Tube or other source. I uninstalled it and there was no further trouble but, of course, I cannot view the clip. If I reinstall it the same problem persists. I have contacted my 'computer guru' but his comment is that many of his clients have the same problem but it appears to be a problem with Adobe however many other friends have put in the version 10 Flash Player and have no problems. I do not appear to have any other problems with the computer such as viruses etc and it is scanned very day for such items. On both IE8 and Firefox. Win 7 32 bit on IBM T42 - 1GB ram.
Old laptop I know but the 10.1.x.x Flash Players worked just fine. Problem started with 10.2.152.26 flash player.
Now BBC TV live and iPlayer work just fine, however YouTube does not - audio but no video. Just a black rectangle where the video should be.
Right click to get the menu and "settings" is greyed out. However select the pop-out option and the video plays. Right click on the pop-out and "settings" is available. So deselect "enable hardware acceleration", close the pop-out and refresh the window (F5) and now YouTube videos play. Switch hardware acceleration back on and now they don't.

A pop up window on my Safari does not close even after several clicks on OK... this window keeps popping up and is not allowing using the safari nor is it alowing to close the browser. The open Safari is also not allowing to restart or shutdown the notebook. Please help me rectify the problem.
Force Quit .
Press command + option + esc keys together at the same time. Wait.
When Force Quit window appears, select Safari, if not already.
Press Force Quit button at the bottom of the window. Wait.
Application will quit.
If this does not help, press the power button for 7 or more seconds.
Computer will shut down.
Restart.
Hold the shift key down and launch Safari.

Yup, i have the same issue, i reported this with apple and there is ticket opened for me with
the engineering section. more that month still not solved. I was hope after update to IOS 8.1.3 to fix!
But not fixed yet.

Can vmware player be used to create windows pc and mac. Will I need any other software or hardware to do that?(Have Windows and Mac on same computer)
Since you posted this in the iPod Touch forum and didn't provide enough information to contradict that I am going to say the it can't be done. VMWare does work in iPods.

I'm on a Windows 7 platform
In Thunderbird or any other software that provides a hyperlink, clicking on the link will not activate Firefox if it's not running, or it won't open a new window if it is running.
I have disabled all addons, restarted, and it still doesn't work.
I have not installed any new devices, such as printers, for at least a year or more.
I use Avast for protection since I bought this PC
I do have Spybot resident.
I would provide a list of all my installed software, but I don't know how to get the list.

Photos won't import images from my Canon camera. When connected, program sees the images, tells me it will import the new ones, then freezes once import starts, not allowing any other operation to happen. MacbookPro 15" 2012, OSX Yosemite 10.10.3. Any suggestions?
Solution discovered. Faulty connector cable. Tried a different one and it worked.

I ordered a new phone and shipped it to a friend in Dubai, UAE. without knowing i have to activate it by making 5minutes calls, please i need a way to activate it without sending it back to the US..any help? this has been very frustrating for me this past few days

That was very nice of you to provide your friend with a new phone! I am sorry to say that the device will not be able to activate while in Dubai. For a device to activate it must connect to the VZW network to become active. I apologize for any inconvenience.

When I sign off on yahoo email. I get a blank page on every tab if any are opened. I have to exit out & restart firefox . It does not happen w/any other browser. I have no malware or viruses. Please advise.
Actually, it's not obvious & common sense would dictate that users' bookmarks would not be left stuck to random computers even once they've logged out of the account. No one wants that if it's a public work computer or if they're traveling & use an Internet cafe. As I am not the only one who has noticed this issue or had bookmarks disappear/be deleted, in addition, common sense would indicate it's not really a very good system. And carrying around a flashdrive to run Firefox off of it is a good solution? Really? Just curious why a useful feature such as being able to login & use your preferences & bookmarks & then logging out removes your preferences when you're gone hasn't been developed. Yahoo keeps my preferences when I logout (it's called My Yahoo!). Maybe a My Firefox or My Chrome solution could be developed.

Every time I move emails from the inbox to another mailbox, then click on any mailbox (the emails are there fine), and then go back to the inbox, the moved messages have returned to the inbox. I have moved them out of the inbox to other mailboxes again and again, but then they keep showing up in the inbox again as soon as I click on any mailbox other than the inbox. Very frustrating.
This has only happened since I installed Mavericks on both my Macbook Pro and my iMac. It happens on both of them.
Any ideas how to fix it?
peterThis may be one of the known issues with Gmail and it's IMAP settings working with Maverick's Mail.
It all comes down to if you have the ALL MAIL folder visible or not via IMAP.
If you do not, then you get the behavior you are describing.
If you do have ALL MAIL visible, then there isn't a problem.

I synced about 50 books to my new ipad air 2. When I click any other books, the sync starts all over again for all books (it shows 51 books syncing). If I abort the sync, all of a sudden, all books are gone from my ipad. I don't know why. I did not have this problem on my old ipad...or before I upgraded to the latest version of iTunes. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Perform a hard reboot
Hold down the Home button and Power button on your iPhone or iPad and keep holding them until you see the Apple logo. Once you do, you can let go. When your device boots back up, go ahead and check to see if the apps have started re-downloading. If they still appear to be stuck, continue on. -
How do I know if my purchased music is being saved to the "cloud" so I don't need to do any other storage?
You're purchased music is not so much saved to the cloud, but rather indexed, since it is already in the cloud by virtue of being in the iTunes store.
If you want to check whether your purchases are being indexed or not, go to the purchased section on the main page of the iTunes store. There you will see a list of all your purchased items. -
My iPhone 4S has decide to stop playing any of my music. All my songs are there, but when I click to play, it just scrolls through a bunch of songs and then reverts back to the play list. Anyone have any suggestions as to how to correct this? Thanks.
I am having the same issue. And today, I noticed that when I was talking on the phone, the volume went down low. I had to reboot the phone, so that the volume was up again. Mostly, though, it's my music that I am having issues with.
