Firefox freezes or lock's , it dose load one page before it locks

firefox will load one tab , then freezes or locks up . i have read the help , and treis one's that where close!! , but ? no luck!!!

This is how my problem began on my Vista system (for details, see: https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/questions/852169). Then it started hanging when I tried to open PDFs. Then when I clicked on oh, just about anything. None of the known fixes that applied to the issues I was having caused them to cease. Eventually, Firefox just refuses to open at all...am still wondering what the heck happened???

firefox 4 freezes after i open it (keeps loading the page non-stop and i cant click or do anything, plus there is no option to report an error so i cant even get this checked and this seems to be the case on 3 different computers i use all have windows 7 32bit.

Hello,
Certain Firefox problems can be solved by performing a Clean reinstall. This means you remove Firefox program files and then reinstall Firefox. Please follow these steps:
Note: You might want to print these steps or view them in another browser.
#Download the latest Desktop version of Firefox from http://www.mozilla.org and save the setup file to your computer.
#After the download finishes, close all Firefox windows (click Exit from the Firefox or File menu).
#Delete the Firefox installation folder, which is located in one of these locations, by default:
#*Windows:
#**C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox
#**C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox
#*Mac: Delete Firefox from the Applications folder.
#*Linux: If you installed Firefox with the distro-based package manager, you should use the same way to uninstall it - see Installing Firefox on Linux. If you downloaded and installed the binary package from the Firefox download page, simply remove the folder firefox in your home directory.
#Now, go ahead and reinstall Firefox:
##Double-click the downloaded installation file and go through the steps of the installation wizard.
##Once the wizard is finished, choose to directly open Firefox after clicking the Finish button.
Please report back to see if this helped you!
Thank you.

• Its loading a page before even i type in the right URL. how can i prevent forefox from automatically loading the suggested page before i hit enter?

when i type in address bar, its great that the url is automatically filled in based on the history of browsing. but i dont want the page to be loading at the same instant. for ex. if i want to type thehindu.com, once i type 't' its taking for granted that i am typing thermopedia.com and completes the url and loads the page at the same time. I appreciate the url suggestion but not the page loading at the same time. this wastes my data usage (Highly inefficient).
To complicate the problem, when i type the second letter sometimes it gets appended to the already auto completed url and heads to search for the completely messy words in the default search engine.
Basically the addressbar has become useless and so is firefox usage. I'm completely frustrated and spoiled over an hour fighting the issue. please provide options to control the loading of the page automatically even if the url is automatically filledin.

Try some basic troubleshooting.
Try Firefox Safe Mode to see if the problem goes away. Firefox Safe Mode is a troubleshooting mode that turns off some settings, disables most add-ons (extensions and themes).
If Firefox is open, you can restart in Firefox Safe Mode from the Help menu:
*In Firefox 29.0 and above, click the menu button , click Help and select Restart with Add-ons Disabled.
*In previous Firefox versions, click on the Firefox button at the top left of the Firefox window and click on Help (or click on Help in the Menu bar, if you don't have a Firefox button) then click on Restart with Add-ons Disabled.
If Firefox is not running, you can start Firefox in Safe Mode as follows:
* On Windows: Hold the Shift key when you open the Firefox desktop or Start menu shortcut.
* On Mac: Hold the option key while starting Firefox.
* On Linux: Quit Firefox, go to your Terminal and run firefox -safe-mode <br>(you may need to specify the Firefox installation path e.g. /usr/lib/firefox)
When the Firefox Safe Mode window appears, select "Start in Safe Mode".<br>

If the issue is not present in Firefox Safe Mode, your problem is probably caused by an extension, and you need to figure out which one. Please follow the Troubleshoot extensions, themes and hardware acceleration issues to solve common Firefox problems article to find the cause.
To exit Firefox Safe Mode, just close Firefox and wait a few seconds before opening Firefox for normal use again.
When you figure out what's causing your issues, please let us know. It might help others with the same problem.

• What happened to the Recent pages dropdown (in Firefox 4) that was next to Go back one page, Go forward one page? It was more useful than having to go to History.

There was a dropdown list after Go for one page on the menu bar that showed several of my latest pages. It was handy. Is there a way to do this QUICKLY in FF4, without having to open history?

• Firefox freezes when clicking away during applet load

I have an applet that, upon startup, reads in a large amount of initial data. While this startup read usually only takes about 10 seconds, if a user clicks on a regular HTML link on the page during this initial loading of the java applet then Firefox will freeze.
I've tried adding some focus/component listeners to see if an event gets fired when the page is navigated away from and thus shut down all the data readers, but to no avail. I would assume that no such event occurs.
Is this just a Firefox bug or is there a workaround?
Many thanks
Si

Is there a workaround? Can you not do micro-initialisation - launch another thread to do the donkey work for the next 10 seconds (or more) - but have all your listeners and stuff up and running, or will that not make a difference?

• Firefox freezes for around 10 seconds when loading a video on YouTube

So everytime I'm loading a video on YouTube, it takes a very long time to load (10-15 seconds) and while the video is loading Firefox becomes completely unresponsive. I can't do anything until the video is loaded, and when it takes such a long it becomes annoying.
I have the newest versions of both Firefox and Flash Player.

Does this happen with other browsers as well? If no, maybe an extension is interfering. Here is how you can disable them to test that: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/Uninstalling%20add-ons#w_how-to-disable-extensions0-personassf-and-plugins

• Firefox "hangs" when opened and will not load first page

I am running Firefox on Mac OS X and when I open it it hangs and does not load the first page. The whole application does not respond so I can't open it in safe mode or anything. I have to keep force quitting it.

So no help from any one about this?

Note that the Aurora (28.0a2) and Nightly (29.0a1) build are updated daily and can be unstable being alpha releases.<br />
You always need to install such a version alongside of the current release via a custom install and use a separate profile for each Firefox version.
Make sure not to start Firefox after the installation has finished and use the Profile Manager to create a new (separate) profile for each version.<br />

This page has .png files of old logo 128*128 works well:
https://blog.mozilla.org/faaborg/2009/06/18/the-new-firefox-icon/
Use this page to convert to .ico file:
http://www.convertico.com/
Save the created icon to local computer.
Then download this and use to replace icon, you need to load your FF application, change appropriate icons, and save. FF can not be running when you save.
Also go to desktop and taskbar, right click icon, go to properties, and change icon.

• Firefox 4 will not activate the "Go Back One Page" arrow

<blockquote>Locking duplicate thread.<br>
Please continue here: [/questions/810414]</blockquote><br>
When I have a page on the internet and try to go to page two of the article the arrow (in left hand corner of page) is inactive

Note that some sites won't allow "go back"(which usually is bad site design, but that's another question).
Often developers do this by using JavaScript. You may test a site by temporarily turning off JavaScript in Firefox which would then not honour JavaScript code by that site.
Of course turning off JavaScript in your browser may reduce functionality on some sites, but security-wise it would be a good thing ...

• When I print from Firefox, if the printout will be more than one page, several lines at the top of the second page (or any pages after the first) are not printed. Is this a known problem? Or is there a work-around?

Intel MacBook Pro
Mac OS X 10.6.8
Firefox 8.0 (same problem occurred with version 7)
Yahoo Mail shows same problem

Fixed the problem by going back to the earlier version of Firefox 5.0.1 I have concluded it is a problem with 6.0.1 and 6.0.2 which I upgraded to in the last few weeks.

• Load one scene before the other

I have two scenes, one acts as a preloader.  It contains a flv video that should play before the other scene is loaded.  I'm having a hard time trying to figure out how to specify this logic on the timeline.
For example, I want scene 1 to play until frame 20 and scene 2 to start at scene 21.  How can this be accomplished?

I do have the scenes set up in that order, however they do not play one after the other.  It just jumps to the main scene.
I reviewed the tutorial and it is great, however my preloader contains a flv video.  I want this short video to play to the end before the second (main) scene is loaded.

• Load web page before FLV

I have a simple, play-once 10-sec Flash video on the home
page of a site I am developing. Browser waits until FLV is fully
downloaded before displaying any html content, whether or not
Autoplay is set to true or false. All a first-time visitor sees is
blank white screen until Flash is ready. How can I tell browser to
load html content while waiting for Flash to download? Even a
'loading' progress bar would help, to show that something is
happening, but don't know how to do that either. I am an
ActionScript novice, so could someone please spell it out for me?

Hi,
You could try to use WebBrowser ,WebBrowser displays HTML content in applications running in a Silverlight 4 or later out-of-browser applications or in Silverlight 5 in-browser trusted applications only.

• Firefox freezes at random times and I have to end process, restart to use it

I have no problems with running Firefox.
I got a new laptop, downloaded Firefox and have had problems with it randomly freezing. It will attempt to load a page, freeze and won't unfreeze no matter how long I wait. I have to open the task manager and end the firefox.exe process to close the program and restart it.
My initial belief was that I may have downloaded a wrong bit version.
I'm currently running Windows 7 with a 64-bit operating system. I am running Firefox 3.6.13.
Any help?

It sounds like you are getting in a hurry.
If you force Firefox to close in a hurry, then it won't normally start until you re-start the computer. There are ways around this, but I'm not going to go into them right now.
None-force way to close Firefox down: Close the program and wait. Do something else. Firefox appears as if it is closed, but it's not. Firefox cleans out cookies and it's cache after you close it. That takes a few minutes. You can't restart it while it's doing house cleaning.
After it is done, then you can restart Firefox normally. You can watch it in the Task Manager.
The same applies if you are installing javascript. You have to wait a few minutes.
As for running it with multiple tabs, I usually have 5 or 6, or more, tabs open at a time. Have no idea what the problem is there. Firefox needs special permission by use of a pop-up option to close with multiple tabs open.

• Suddenly my firefox loads SO slowly. I launch firefox first and then Safari and Safari loads pages before firefox enen begins too. Also a LOT more adds show pages I looked at previously.

Several weeks ago Firefox suddenly was / is very slow to load all pages. I launch Firefox. Wait. Launch Safari. Safari loads page while I am still waiting for Firefox.
Why?

Do you use NoScript? There's possibly an issue with NoScript where certain settings cause Firefox to load HTTPS pages on startup very slowly.
