Firefox goes to mobile version of yahoo mail in laptop

i'm using firefox 5 ... when i open yahoomail in my laptop browser using the link mail.tyahoo.com or yahoomail.com it automatically redirects to the mobile version of yahoo mail i.e m.yahoo.com...
this has resulted in my webmail notifier add on also to function properly since it does not check for the mails from yahoo servers.
i previously had an add on wmlbrowser which is used for viewing mobile sites. i've removed the add on , but the problem persists.. please help.

Go to about:config in Firefox. Search for '''network.http.accept.default'''. Right-click and choose 'reset'. See if that works.

  • I like Firefox browser when I use my Yahoo mail reverts to "oreiginal/old " version from latest version and this does not bhappen with Exploer or Chrome

Using Firefox browser I can convert to the newest version of Yahoo mail and for this conversion it works satisfactorily. If I close Yahoo mail , either going to another site or closing the Browser, next time I open Yahoo mail it has reverted to old version (occasionally this does not happen but 80% of time it reverts). This does not happen with Explorer or Chrome. I have ensured updated Firefox. Tried Yahoo Ask for answer but no luck.I like Firefox Browser.

Hello, iam using the latest version of firefox, whenever i login into my yahoo mail account i get a stop script error, the details of the error script is mentioned below , please suggest how to stop this
the website is www.mail.yahoo.com. i was getting the same STOP script error every now and then in firefox 6 as well

I have had a similar problem with my system. I just recently (within a week of this post) built a brand new desktop. I installed Windows 7 64-bit Home and had a clean install, no problems. Using IE downloaded an anti-virus program, and then, because it was the latest version, downloaded and installed Firefox 4.0. As I began to search the internet for other programs to install after about maybe 10-15 minutes my computer crashes. Blank screen (yet monitor was still receiving a signal from computer) and completely frozen (couldn't even change the caps and num lock on keyboard). I thought I perhaps forgot to reboot after an update so I did a manual reboot and it started up fine.
When ever I got on the internet (still using firefox) it would crash after anywhere between 5-15 minutes. Since I've had good experience with FF in the past I thought it must be either the drivers or a hardware problem. So in-between crashes I updated all the drivers. Still had the same problem. Took the computer to a friend who knows more about computers than I do, made sure all the drivers were updated, same problem. We thought that it might be a hardware problem (bad video card, chipset, overheating issues, etc.), but after my friend played around with my computer for a day he found that when he didn't start FF at all it worked fine, even after watching a movie, or going through a playlist on Youtube.
At the time of this posting I'm going to try to uninstall FF 4.0 and download and install FF 3.6.16 which is currently on my laptop and works like a dream. Hopefully that will do the trick, because I love using FF and would hate to have to switch to another browser. Hopefully Mozilla will work out the kinks with FF 4 so I can continue to use it.
I apologize for the lengthy post. Any feedback would be appreciated, but is not necessary. I will try and post back after I try FF 3.16.6.

Compatible issues firefox v37.0.2 with att yahoo mail
Hello: this is my first post, hope I am doing it properly.
I am using W7pro OS and ATT DSL 3.0Mbps dl
I noticed this week that I was unable to save attachments from my ATT Yahoo mail I could view them but no choice as to ware to save them--only choice (save to my comp.)But no ware to be found.
I reinstalled v 36.0.4-preventing auto upgrade-But still had same problem.
At this point contacted ATT support supervisor-we spent about 4hr working on problem--He was using your v 31.5.0--and had no problem accessing and saving attachments using remolt access on my comp.
We also found using my comp.FF v 36.0.4 & v 37.0.2 browser, that we could without any problems access an save attachments--AOL mail-- & mail2web.--& IE--Even when forwarding inaccessible mail to above sites.
He informed me that (ATT mail Yahoo)only uses resources to make them compatible with--Google IE & Chrome &Apple? (basically he was saying, that they would NOT commit resources to FF--any version)BUT he was not allowed to commit.
PS: The last time I know it worked ok was 3-18-15 I have 3 comp.2 wxp pro 1 w7 pro the same problem on all 3--so feel confident not OS related-but compatible problems with FF & yahoo mail.
The ATT support supervisor-was unable to determined the date they may have made changes on their site.without extensive research-which we decided wasn't worth the effort as they wouldn't look in to it.
I hope someone or FF will be able find a workaround-as I do not want to use the browsers they suggest. I LOVE FF.
    Thank You Gary

I have no idea what you are asking me to do ??--can you explain at a dummy
    level--I wont be offended.

  • New version of yahoo mail - completely blank contact page (no tabs, columns, or contacts) but on internet explorer works fine

I just got the newest version of Yahoo Mail and on Internet Explorer everything works fine. On Firefox, the contact page is completely blank ( no tabs, columns, or contact information)

Yahoo have acknowledged my emails and have now resolved this problem. It was obviously at their end and only started with their new mail client.

  • Has anyone else noticed a RADICAL increase in popups under the new version of Firefox when clicking on links in Yahoo mail?

The question says it all. The one advantage that Internet Explorer has always had is that it can block ALL popups, even the ones that might be advantageous to the user, while Firefox only blocks most popups. Since the upgrade to the new version, however, I've noticed that the rate of popups has JUMPED, especially when I go to different parts of my Yahoo mail account. Like with any other unwanted popup, I close the window immediately upon its appearance, so I see little purpose in them at all, but that, of course, is another topic for another time.

hello luislast, this sounds like a problem possibly caused by adware/malware on your pc. please go to firefox > addons > extensions & remove any suspicious entries (toolbars, things that you have not installed intentionally, don't know what purpose they serve, etc). also go to the windows control panel / programs and remove all toolbars or potentially unwanted software from there and do a full scan of your system with the security software that you have in place and/or a different tool like the [http://www.malwarebytes.org/products/malwarebytes_free free version of malwarebytes].

  • All websites automatically going to Mobile versions when using safari and firefox (likely started after mavericks update) Anyone have any idea how to fix this?

Not exactly all websites but many seem to be defaulting to their Mobile versions when using my Macbook Air... this is not dependent on browser type (Safare, chrome and firefox have been tried)... this is a new problem and may have started after theĀ  Mavericks update (although I am not 100% sure about the timing).
Has anyone had this problem? Any idea how to fix this?

  • Firefox crashes when i go to yahoo mail and youtube

Firefox is having problems with certain web sites
    == Description
    ==
When I first downloaded and installed Firefox, all the sites were working just fine. I went around YouTube watching videos, went to my Yahoo! mail, etc. But, later on, when I tried to visit YouTube again, Firefox kept crashing. I thought if I just shut down my laptop and waited until the next day, it would be fine. But, I visited Yahoo! mail first, and everything was fine for about 5 minutes, but then Firefox suddenly crashed. I opened up Firefox again, visited Yahoo! mail again, and Firefox crashed once more. I went around Mozilla for help, and I noticed that other people have had this problem too. I tried to fix it by going into 'My Computer' and deleting that plugin stated in the help page, but I can't seem to find anything in my computer. So help please on how I can fix this? Thanks in advance!
Also, I had restored my laptop to its factory settings right before installing Firefox (because my laptop had problems), so would this affect it in any way? Before I restored to factory settings, my laptop never had these problems with Firefox.

    Hello Teresa.
Unfortunately, the computer doesn't work with waiting for issues to fix themselves, by themselves. Unless this is an error with the sites themselves (unlikely), it's possible that you are having a problem with some Firefox add-on that is hindering your Firefox's normal behavior. Have you tried disabling all add-ons (just to check), to see if Firefox goes back to normal?
Whenever you have a problem with Firefox, whatever it is, you should make sure it's not caused by one (or more than one) of your installed add-ons, be it an extension, a theme or a plugin. To do that easily and cleanly, run Firefox in [http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Safe+Mode safe mode] (don't forget to select ''Disable all add-ons'' when you start safe mode). If the problem disappears, you know it's from an add-on. Disable them all in normal mode, and enable them one at a time until you find the source of the problem. See [http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Troubleshooting+extensions+and+themes this article] for information about troubleshooting extensions and themes and [https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Troubleshooting+plugins this one] for plugins.
If you need support for one of your add-ons, you'll have to contact its author.
If the problem is not disappears when all add-ons are disabled, please tell me, so we can work from there.

  • Why does Firefox comsume my computer when in Yahoo Mail

For the past week, something is effecting Firefox when in Yahoo Mail. It does not happen at any other web site.
    # I do not allow automatic updates of any kind. No changes or additions (unless sneaky stealth attacks?) had been made to Firefox since update to version 12 in May. The only add-on I have is the Mozilla Archive Format, which I've been using for years.
    # Windows and various security applications are up-to-date as of very recently.
    # Several up-to-date anti-malware programs have found nothing on my computer.
    # I tried Chrome and Opera. They do not have this problem, but I don't like either of them.
    # I uninstalled Firefox, deleted everything related I could find, downloaded the current version (13) from Mozilla, installed, and rebuilt all my preferences. I got my bookmarks back by restoring from a bookmark backup. This changed nothing.
    # I tried "Restart With Add-ons Disabled" in Firefox, but that did not help.
Firefox starts doing something very intensive once in Yahoo Mail. Sometimes it is in this state when it displays the first screen of mail boxes after I sign on. More often I can do a little bit of something, such as open a mail box or a single e-mail therein before the problem starts. From my perspective it starts this aberrant behavior just when I click on the next thing: open another e-mail; open a different mail box; delete an e-mail.
Normally while in Yahoo Mail, or at any other web site, Task Manager reports CUP usage at from 0% to 5%, occasionally a few percent more for a very brief flash. When this Yahoo Mail thing starts
    # The CPU usage jumps to 25%, with occasional bursts up to 30+%. Task Manger shows it is due to the process firefox.exe*32.
    # The browser will not respond to any controls. I can do nothing with the keyboard or mouse. No menu will open. This has never ended by itself.
    # Task Manager reports the immediate drop of network activity to zero -- nothing going on over the phone line -- or so Windows thinks. Disconnecting the phone line does not release the browser or lower its CPU use.
    # A few times the entire computer has locked. I have only been able to get out of it with the hardware reset button.
    # Sometimes Firefox is totally unresponsive itself but I can cancel it via Task Manager.
    # Sometimes the one and only thing in Firefox that responds is the "X" in the upper right hand corner. The browser screen disappears immediately.
    # BUT, Task Manager shows the process firefox.exe*32 still running at 25% CPU. I can end said process with Task Manager, whereby CPU usage immediately drops to 0%, or somewhere close.
    # Whatever is going on through Firefox prevents me from doing what I want -- and it seems probable that IT is doing something I don't want done, although I have not yet seen symptoms of that.
Where can I go from here?

    Hi,
You can consider the [https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/reset-firefox-easily-fix-most-problems Reset Firefox] feature via '''Help''' ('''Alt''' + '''H''') > '''Troubleshooting Information'''. If it is okay, you can then install the Mozilla Archive Format add-on.
If you have security software installed you can try to delete all existing entries for Firefox and its sub processes in the different configuration modules and try to fully trust/allow Firefox afresh. Even after network access is completed, Firefox would still need unlimited access to its disk cache/memory as well as its files. Please see [https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/Firewalls this].
    [http://kb.mozillazine.org/Firewalls AV/Firewall Configuration]

  • When using the right mouse button in Yahoo mail inbox (Firefox 8.0.1, Win 7, Yahoo Mail Plus) the Firefox navigation window (Back, Forward etc...) is on top of the Yahoo email menu (Open, Print, Reply etc...). This happens in Firefox safe mode as well.

This also happened in Windows XP which I was using until recently.
The Yahoo mail menu is there but the Firefox menu is on top of it. I tried Firefox safe mode with everything disabled and the problem still happened. I tried Yahoo mail in IE 9 and the right mouse button works correctly.

    Can you attach a screenshot?
Use a compressed image type like PNG or JPG to save the screenshot and make sure that you do not exceed the maximum file size (1 MB).
Make sure that you do not run Firefox in full screen mode (press F11 or Fn + F11 to toggle; Mac: command+Shift+F).<br />
If you are in full screen mode then hover the mouse to the top to make the Navigation Toolbar and Tab bar appear.<br />
You can click the Maximize button at the top right to leave full screen mode or right click empty space on a toolbar and use "Exit Full Screen Mode" or press F11.<br />

  • In Firefox, can't attach files to Yahoo Mail outgoing messages. Yahoo Mail works fine in Internet Explorer though.

Since yesterday, when I switched from Comcast to AT&T as my broadband internet connection, I have not been able to attach files to my Yahoo mail messages using Mozilla Firefox. I don't have this problem when using Internet Explorer, but my default browser is Firefox by choice. Is this a Yahoo issue or a Firefox issue? Can you help me resolve it?

Not helpful. 'clearing Firefox's cache' is not helpful, since 'cache' doesn't show up in any of the Firefox pulldown menu choices (wasted time looking for that), and the plethora of things 'recent' and 'history' to choose to act on in these menus is also a possible waste of time, not to mention removing useful info for no reason.
I, too, have had this problem 'intermittently' for many months, always involving the 'first' file to attach in a Yahoo! email, and I've always used this workaround OK: click on the filename showing as 'being attached' (while Yahoo's doohickey round spinner denoting 'in progress' whirls and whirls to no effect) and use "Remove File"; THEN, REPEAT 'attach file' task & it then works, if slowly. After that for the same email, attaching add'l files NEVER HAS A PROBLEM.
SO, now today, without any software update yet (I've downloaded Firefox v.11 & will install shortly), at numerous attempts during the day, I CANNOT get the FIRST file to attach in a Yahoo! email. Simply, utterly, frustrating without any rhyme or reason. "Everything else, on plethora of sites, working fine."
    thanks.

  • How do I set Firefox so it opens to my yahoo mail site when I click opening icon??

When I click firefox opening page shows a big google search screen. I want the opening page to show my bellsouth (yahoo) mail.
How do I do this? I'm weaning myself from Safari.

There are a couple of settings. First, right-click on the account in the folder list to the left, then select "Properties" from the context menu. Go into the "Server Settings" tab. Uncheck
    * Check for new messages at startup
    * Check for new messages every [__] minutes
and then click the "Advanced" button. Another option to uncheck here is
    * Use IDLE commend if the server supports it
which is a mechanism that allows the ''server'' to actively notify the program about new incoming mail.
This assumes that you have set up the Gmail account as IMAP account.

  • Firefox reduces the font sizes on Yahoo mail to a very small unreadable font size and i have tried the suggestions in help. Explorer does not do this. What should i try other than using Explorer

This problem started about two months ago and I have been using Explorer to access e-mail. I have downloaded all updates and just downloaded 4.01. When trying to view Yahoo mail, all the fonts on the page are very small and I can not adjust the font size. It is so small I can hardly read it. Other pages are fine.

Reset the page zoom on pages that cause problems: <b>View > Zoom > Reset</b> (Ctrl+0 (zero); Cmd+0 on Mac)

  • I have uninstalled/reinstalled Firefox 10-15 times in 2-3 months but Yahoo mail gives me an error message that my browser doesn't support the newest version of Yahoo mail

Even when I try to just go to Yahoo.com I get:Why am I seeing this page?
You are viewing this page instead of the normal Yahoo home page because you are using an unsupported browser.
Whether I download the Firefox upgrade from the site Yahoo sends me to or directly from Mozilla, I still can't get to yahoo.com.

You can check for problems caused by a possibly corrupted user agent.
