Firefox goes to URL other than the one in the hyperlink.
When clicking on a hyperlink on a web page (Even "Go To Top" hyperlinks.) Firefox redirects window to an unrelated website. The only way to get to intended location is right click mouse and select "Open in new window" choice.
hello, this sounds like a problem possibly caused by adware on your pc.
#please go to the firefox ''menu ≡ > addons > extensions'' & remove any suspicious entries (toolbars, things that you have not installed intentionally, don't know what purpose they serve, etc).
#also go to the windows control panel / programs and remove all toolbars or potentially unwanted software from there.
#finally, run a full scan of your system with different security tools like the [http://www.malwarebytes.org/products/malwarebytes_free free version of malwarebytes] & [http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/download/adwcleaner/ adwcleaner], which are specialised in adware and browser hijackers.

As you can see from the troubleshooting information, I am several versions behind the latest Firefox. I am wondering whether an update would make Hotmail work on Firefox again and make it faster. I've been running iTunes on WinXP for years with few problems. I have all my iTunes files on an external USB drive. I just bought a new PC running Win7, 64-bit.
I connected the external USB drive to the new PC and installed 64-bit iTunes on it. When iTunes started up, I pointed it at the iTunes directory in the external drive, using Edit > Preferences > Advanced > iTunes Media Folder Location. It showed a progress bar that it was updating the iTunes Library. I signed in and authorized the new machine. I have one spare authorization.
Then iTunes put up a message "The item you've requested is not currently available in the Hong Kong Store." I had not requested anything from the HK store at that point, and I have never used any store other than the HK one.
When I click OK, the iTunes Store page remains blank, apart from saying "iTunes Store" in the middle of the page.
I went to "View My Account" and pressed the Reset button to "Reset all warnings for buying and downloading items", but that doesn’t fix this particular warning. I also tried Edit > Preferences > Advanced > Reset Warnings and Rest Cache.
But still, every time I click the “App Store” button in the iTunes Store window, the message appears. If I click the Books, Podcasts or iTunesU buttons, these display normally. So I’m stuck with being unable to purchase apps, other than through my iPad and iPhone.
If I move the external drive back to the XP machine, the same thing happens. If I go to another PC - a notebook running Vista - everything is normal.
Any idea how I can clear that message?

I have tried re-validating my credit card, which apparently fixed it for some.
I have also tried uninstalling, re-downloading and installing again.
Neither of these steps fixed the problem. -

I am trying to figure out how to enable remote debugging for a session other than the one I am currently using.
More specifically, we have an application that is making database calls to Oracle 11gR2. Something is causing an exception during this invocation. My system is currently not set up to recompile said application, so I can't just add the debug call to the code and recompile. Therefore I would like to be able to log into the database (as sys, if necessary) and invoke dbms_debug_jdwp.connect_tcp on the desired session.
The docs indicate that I should be able to do so:

I've tried granting the 'BECOME USER' privilege for the relevant users, but that didn't help. I read something about having to set some kind of ACL as of 11gR1, but the reference documentation was very confusing.
Would someone be able to point me in the right direction? Is this even possible, or did I misread the documentation?Interesting deduction, that would be very useful indeed. I hate recompiling just to add the debug call, and it can't be done in our production environment. But it seems unlikely to me it would be implemented this way.
I would cross-post this in the SQL AND PL/SQL forum though, as this is really a database issue, not with the SQL Developer tool. Do add the links to the other posts in each.

My ipod nano 7th gen no longer shows "Playlists" in the music menu. No changes made other than deleting one and adding one playlist to those synced. Synced fine in late February. Not working as of 3/7/2014.
I would either say that the iOS is correpted due to a software glitch or y have have a hardware problem like bad memory locations that are corrupting the iOS.
- Restore from backup via iTunes. This will install a fresh copy of the iOS. See:
iOS: How to back up
- Restore to factory settings/new iOS device. This will elimate corruptin in the backup causing the problem.
If still problem, make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.

Whenever you try to save a PDF file to a location other than the default location ('My Documents'), Firefox freezes & you have to go to the 'Task Manager' to exit Firefox and stop the error. I have Windows XP (Media Center Edition) and all updates (Firefox, Adobe PDF, Microsoft, virus protection, etc) are installed. This has only been a problem since Firefox 4, and isn't a problem in Internet Explorer.

Thank you for your detailed question. It sounds like the real issue is pdf files. Are there any antivirus/firewalls that might be blocking this specific file type? or are there any preferences in your control panel that might be blocking this?

The Mail preference dialog opens. Select the Composing tab from the row of icons at the top. From the menu labeled

Note that this setting may have no effect if you start a new message while a VIP or smart mailbox is selected in the mailbox list. Those are saved searches, not actual mailboxes.

I want to edge to a phone other than the one that I am "eligible" for
I am very frustrated with the service that I have received lately. I currently own an iPhone 5 and have an upgrade in July. The phone works fine other than the short battery life and little storage left due to the fact that the new software updates get larger as they go. I became eligible for early edge at the beginning of February. When I went to take a look at my options I was told that I would only be able to edge to a droid max. I have had iPhone's since 2010 when I first got a smart phone, my entire platform runs off of Apple and I have absolutely no desire to change that now.
I called customer service to see if anything could be done to change this option and was told that she could not do anything at the moment, but if I called back in the middle of March that I would be able to get an iPhone 6 and that she would notate my account saying just that. I waited like she told me and called back yesterday. I was then told that my account was notated "if she calls back in a COUPLE OF MONTHS that she will be able to get an iPhone 6." I'm sorry, but there is a big difference between a couple of weeks and a couple of months, especially considering that in a couple of months I will be able to upgrade my phone anyway which would mean there would have been no point in calling back if that's what I had been told originally. Why would I be told one thing and be specifically told when to call back, and then have her write down something else completely? It is very frustrating to be told one thing and then to essentially be told that I am incorrect because something else was written down. I have been a Verizon customer since 2007 and stayed with Verizon even when I moved to my own plan in 2013 and the fact that I am being given the run around is extremely frustrating and annoying. I am very dissatisfied with the service that I have received and with the fact that this is my fourth time dealing with the same topic.Yes, you got the phone which was currently eligible for Early Edge at the time. This changes from time to time. When the iPhone 6/6+ was first released those were the ONLY phones you could purchase on Early Edge. This was for September and October of 2014. One of the requisites AS LISTED ON THE EDGE PAGE is that your line must be eligible for an upgrade. Verizon lifts this requirement IF you want to purchase a specific phone. If the phone you want is not eligible for Early Edge at this moment, it may be at some point in the future and the phone CURRENTLY available may NOT be available for Early Edge. You were able to get the phone you wanted on Early Edge because it was the phone(or one of the phones) eligible at the time for Early Edge.
Verizon does not have a link for Early Edge because it is not always available AND the eligible phones change from time to time. This is no different than any other special they occasionally run.
Regardless, since a link WAS given for Edge which DOES list upgrade eligibility as being a requirement, if someone DOES NOT fulfill that requirement it is not out of the question that other portions of Edge may be different, too, such as what you posted "All Verizon Wireless smartphones, tablets and basic phones are eligible for Verizon Edge." If Verizon relaxes a requirement to enter into Edge, why is it so hard to fathom they may ALSO change something else such as which phones are eligible???
The fact that the OP IS NOT able to purchase an iPhone on Early Edge simply reinforces this fact. -
Having updated to iOS7, I am unable to upload a video to shared stream but when I do, it won't play on any device other than the one used to upload ... help please
I also have this problem, as does everybody else I know who has tried to use the video in icloud. As the original poster says, they can be uploaded, but will only play on the device from which they were originally uploaded, appeaering only as images which display an endless buffering symbol when "played" on any other devices with which the photostream is shared.
Has anyone been able to get this to work? And if not, why is there no acknowledgement from Apple that this bug exists and will be addressed in an update (now running 7.0.2 and still no improvement)? It was, after all, advertised as one of the attractive new features of iOS 7. So why the stony silence? -
How can I add vocal effects other than the 9 Voice options? (I can't shift pitch)

I am making the switch from PC and am just trying to lower the pitch of a vocal track by at least an octave; I just got a MBP last week and am running GB 10.0.2. I can't find any info on similar problems that is helpful; most solutions I've come across show that when the track is selected, there should be a pitch shift bar with a sliding button, but I do not have that. I read a lot of people saying something about the track being purple or not, but I'm not sure if that's relative to the version I have or if that has anything to do with what's happening. When I select the track, in the little area toward the lower left when "Track" is selected, (what is that space called?) where the pitch shift option is for other people, I only have a sliding bar for Pitch Correction, and a checkbox for Limit to Key and Enable Flex. When "Region" is selected, it just shows the name of the region and there are no options. Another question I have is how to change the pitch of midi sounds? When the keyboard is open on the screen I have tried moving the little octave shifter, but it assigns the sounds that are on the keyboard at different locations if I move it, so it changes the sound completely. A couple of them shift one octave up or down, but there are no actual controls..
I'm mostly just dabbling with EDM/trap/Hiphop tracks at the moment, but am confused about whether or not there are other vocal effects and controls other than the preset Voice options in the instrument area (Bright vocal, Classic vocal, compressed vocal, Edge vocal, etc.)? I'm not going to be using GB forever, but are there not any other options like for current rap/trap production (phaser, balance, EQ, auto tune, choppers, actual voice altering effects, etc.) [preferably without buying extra things]? And not only vocals, but editing effects for all sounds.. If so, how do I get to them? And if not I know I should at least be able to lower or raise the pitch of a vocal recording... There are some pretty legit electronic instruments that are exactly the kind of sound I'm going for so I was surprised to not see an equally simple to access vocal effects board or something. Any additional tips for a n00b electronic music producer would also be greatly appreciated! Thank you for any help!In GarageBand 10 you can no longer change a track with an audio file to a "purple" audio recording, as it has been possible in GarageBand '11.
Even, if you can make the transpose slider visible by enlarging the the track editor panel, the slider will be disabled.
What you can do however, is either add an AuPItch filter from the audioUnit panel or to convert your audio file to loop and to admit from the Loop Browser.
In the new GarageBand you add the AuPitch filter from the Smart Controls.
Enlarge the SmartControl panel by dragging the dividing line upwards, until you see the Audio Units brick, then add an Apple Audio Unit and set it to AuPitch.
Or create a loop from the audio file. Select the region in the track and use the command "File: Add region to Loop library". You need to trim the filet an exact number of measures.
Set the current key and tempo, name the loop, and save the loop. Make sure, that one-shot loop is not enabled.
Now add it from the loop browser to a new track and delete your old track. The search field in the Loop browser will help you to find the loop quickly.
You will be able to transpose the sample like any regular loop. -

If I will use the portal transport package to transfer the iView generated it won't work since the iView doesn't contain the complied application in it that needs to be deployed to the server. Are you Compiling the VC model with "Deploy Model with PAR" checkbox in compiler tab checked? If you create a transport package and add all objects in the model folder, it will work.
What are the issues you are facing in portal transport import?

How does one get an iPod nano to turn on other than the "normal" way? This one has been dropped and all I can get is a blank screen. I have tried holding down the HOME button to restart it but no go. When I connect it to my computer, I am told to enter the PASSCODE which I cannot do as there is no touchpad.

Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button together for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
If that doesn't help, whether it's an iPod nano or touch, it probably needs service > Apple - Support - Service Answer Center
