Firefox hanging on occasion or at certain websites
I have been experiencing numerous problems with Firefox and stability. The most recent problem I have had is with hanging and not responding forcing me to force close the browser.
This seems to happen after a short time with pages opened but does not happen all the time. I could not navigate to any webpages as the browser did not respond. Below is the troubleshooting information.
I got this too, and I found it to be Flash Player.
Try closing the FlashPlayerPlugin_XX_X_XXX_XXX.exe
The X can be any digit. If the browser then unfreezes you know it's the flash player, but I didn't find a fix yet

Firefox fills in forms at a certain website (disabled auto-fill)
After I had some problems with it (+ security issue) I decided to delete all passwords from my firefox.
When I had done this most of the annoying auto-fill-in stuff was solved, however at one website (which I visit quite regularly) it seems to keep filling in one particular username and a password wherever there's a field for either one. Even if it's just a normal field with a title it'll fill in that username.
How can I get rid of this?Use these steps to remove saved (form) data from a drop-down list:
#click the (empty) input field on the web page to open the drop-down list
#highlight an entry in the drop-down list
#press the Delete key (on Mac: Shift+Delete) to remove it.

Firefox doesn't show text on certain websites.
On several websites that I visit regularly (e.g. Autosport.com) Fiefox will not display text whilst other browsers do. This is very frustrating because I much prefer Firefox!
I have screenshots of Firefox v IE but apparently I can't post them until I have a received a reply.davidgoodlad said

How safe is it to delete Lucida Grande from my Windows Fonts folder?
</blockquote>
I think it depends on how it got there. If it was dropped by Safari for Windows, which is no longer a product that Apple supports, I think it's safe to remove. If it belongs to some other software, then that software might object to losing the font. I'm not sure of the best way to determine that. I suppose you could hedge your bets by dragging it into a different folder so Windows just doesn't see it. -
Safari hanging up (spinning ball) on certain websites
Most websites work fine, there are 3 or 4 that used to work fine that now cause it to hang up. I've sent the report, but could not figure out how to copy and paste it, copy was grayed out. It just started happening a week or two ago.

Running FireFox 3.6.16 on both Windows 7 sp1 and Mac OS 10.6.7. When viewing the images on some websites, for example the home screen for www.xerox.com, the "slide show" images that come across the browser on the Mac have lines going through the images. These same images look fine on Windows 7 and when using other browsers, such as Safari, Explorer, etc too.

Flash Player Crashes Computer On Certain Websites
I'm running Windows Vista and use Firefox but when I go to certain websites it seems to crash my entire computer. No BSOD or anything, just a looping sound crash and I have to hard reset my computer. I know it is Flash causing this because I have unistalled flash and went to the same page and it worked, with the exception of the Flash element. So what am I to do?

This started happening when i updated Adobe flash player from 9 to 10 (10.1). I have all latest drivers and hardware is working perfectly. I have ATI 4800 series GPU, Win XP sp3, 2gb ram, quad core CPU and alot of free space on my HDD. I did allkinda error checking, defragmentation etc.. nothing has worked.

Firefox stalling out on certain websites, necessitating a forced quit
So! After yet another in a string of updates for one thing or another, Firefox has decided that it does not like certain websites, and it expresses its displeasure by eternally pretending to load information; the spinning rainbow circle of wait appears, and would continue to spin into eternity if not for the "force quit" option.
As soon as I try to open one of these websites there is a brief pause where you almost start to think that this time it might actually work, but then, no, everything freezes, the spinning rainbow appears, and I have to force quit. I have force quit, no joke, about 500 times over the past three days. Affected websites include Netflix, a website for school, and the same thing happened when I tried the suggested "reset Firefox" thing.
I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling Firefox, Adobe Flash, and Silverlight. I have tried opening and running Firefox in 32-bit. Nothing has even remotely worked.
This is really, really frustrating, because prior to all of these unnecessary updates which rendered it useless, Firefox was my preferred method of being on the web.
Please advise! Thank you!Hi highly_annoyed,
I can understand why you chose that name. Unfortunately I do not use Mac's and can only initially offer general advice. The new reset feature should work and in your situation sounds like a good idea.
* see Reset Firefox – easily fix most problems <br/> I am not sure if it would help but you could try following those instructions after you have physically disconnected from the internet
Maybe you could read that article, attempt the reset, and then post back to explain exactly what does or does not happen.
<u>Plugins list and other information</u>
You appear to have had a problem with finding which plugins are installed. The Ask Question prompts suggest copying it from
*Help -> Troubleshooting information
An alternative method to get the same information is to key into the location bar (where you type web addresses) about:support and then use the Return/Enter key or click the arrow.
The page of troubleshooting information even has a button allowing you to easily copy all the information.
<u>Not Loading or hanging</u>
It will probably be worth attempting to use an alternative browser; such as Safari; as a comparative test to see if that also has problems. Then look at these articles
* websites don't load - troubleshoot and fix error messages
* firefox can't load websites but other browsers can
* firefox hangs or is not responding - How to fix
<u>Upddate the OS & Consider the possibility of Malware</u>
This is something Mac users traditionally have not been too concerned about. There were a few worldwide headlines a couple of months back. Please make absolutely certain that you have the latest updates to your Operating System.
Rather than link to the sensational news stories I will link to some recent official advice.

About two days ago I noticed that when I tried to access certain websites using Firefox I always got this error message; "The connection was reset". I initially thought it was a problem with my isp before noticing that the network was fine on my phone and iPad. I then attempted opening the same links that brought up the error message on the TorBrowser and it worked perfectly.
Basically the only website that works on my Firefox browser right now is Google but if I do a search on Google and then click on any link that comes up as a result I get the same error message, "The connection was reset". I can also log into my gmail account but I cannot access any other website including Feedly, Tumblr, Twitter, Yahoo, Wordpress, Blogspot, even though they work fine on my other browser.
I cleared my cache and cookies, wiped out all the browsing history but the problem persisted so I uninstalled Mozilla Firefox and reinstalled it. The problem is still there. I checked the proxy settings, I went through all the solutions on this page https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/firefox-cant-load-websites-other-browsers-can?esab=a&as=aaq and still nothing. I am not sure what the problem is here but any solution will be much appreciated. I have used Firefox for years now and I am not really comfortable using another browser.
I use a Macbook OS X Version 10.9.4 and the latest Firefox 32.0.1Create a new profile as a test to check if your current profile is causing the problems. <br>
See Creating a profile:
*http://kb.mozillazine.org/Standard_diagnostic_-_Firefox#Profile_issues
If the new profile works then you can transfer files from a previously used profile to the new profile, but be cautious not to copy corrupted files to avoid carrying over the problem <br>

I've reinstalled a new version of Firefox and set all settings to default, yet the problem still continues. Running Windows 7 and tried several different browsers (IE, Safari, Chrome and Opera) and all seem to work fine. Only problem is with Firefox. The only time it works fine is when I don't allow site to use their own fonts. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
I just found out problem is with Adbock plus which blocks the certain websites to run fully. If u have installed Adblock plus plugin, go to Adblock plus preferences and remove the tick mark of the website which show only texts.

Firefox staying offline on certain websites
When my internet briefly disconnects and reconnects while firefox is open, firefox suddenly refuses to load certain websites, those websites (if its any help) are facebook, yahoo mail, and any google search page. These happen to be pages i access alot so im not sure if its related.
But with other pages they work normally through an internet loss and reconnection.
Basically it just loads on and on and on (however not as if the page is loading, the green circle on the tab remains grey forever) the only way to fix this is to restart firefox (very annoying since i tend to work in several tabs located within multiple windows)
This has persisted through several new profiles, firefox reinstalls, and even through Windows reinstalls, so please dont suggest that.
I dont have any antivirus running or any firewall blocking access to certain websites or anything, so this is just so weird.Hello,
Try refreshing the page with Ctrl+F5 so that it doesn't pull from your cache. Also, you can try clearing your cache with:
* History (or > History) > Clear Recent History
* Select the categories you want to clear
Or you can clear your cache in:
* Tools (or ) > Options > Advanced > Network
* In the Cached Web Content section, Clear Now
And try accessing the pages again. See the article How to clear the Firefox cache for more information.
You also have a lot of extensions which could be causing the issue. Firefox Safe Mode is a troubleshooting mode that turns off some settings, disables most add-ons (extensions and themes). If the pages work after the internet reconnects in safe mode, an extension is likely the culprit, in that case please see the Troubleshoot extensions, themes and hardware acceleration issues to solve common Firefox problems article.
Potentially unrelated to your problem, but things that should improve your browsing experience: It could be your user agent switcher causing your user agent to show Firefox version 28, but please update to the latest Firefox (version 32.0.3).
Also, I noticed that you have two version of Flash installed - having multiple versions of the same plugin can cause issues. You can uninstall them using this tool:
* http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/uninstall-flash-player-windows.html
And reinstall Shockwave Flash v15.0.0.152 here: http://get.adobe.com/shockwave/ -
Can you sign into my computer remotely to make sure that I've installed firefox correctly and completely. I seem to be missing plugins, adobe, java, fire fox won't allow me to download them. On certain websites I'm getting error messages.

I have firefox 5, but now I can not enter a certain website. I would like to reset to firefox 4. Where can I find firefox 4?
@[email protected], I'm surprised that page worked in earlier versions of Firefox. It uses a script to click on links, which has not worked for a long time as far as I know.
There are at least two add-ons that can take actions on multiple links. I haven't tested either of them, but you could check them out:

Certain websites media player wont work after installing Firefox V4

Thanks for the step-by-step. However, I'm having time-out

ends up timing out. Is anyone able to download any of those
