Firefox hangs PC, by loading HDD with I/O operations, and cannot be killed.

After upgrading to FF 30 (and later 31) version it begans to hang my Windows 7 PC.
But CPU is not loaded high, memory consumption is not high either.
When i start Firefox HDD LED displays constant HDD activity, but Process Monitor did not displayed high I/O load, it displays instead firefox "I/O device error" while reading file %AppData%\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\410taza7.default\safebrowsing\goog-malware-shavar.sbstore. But neighter SafeBrowsing folder nor goog-malware-shavar.sbstore file is exist in firefox profile. Turning off Security check of web-sites in Firefox Options did not solves the problem.
Moreover, i can't close or kill firefox process (Firefox Window closes after clicking [ X ] button), it's dying in few hours by itself what forces me to reload PC every time i'm trying to start Firefox.
Am i doing something wrong?

I'm not sure what plugin is the problem but when the plugin_container process loads, firefox hangs and becomes unresponsive. Windows 7 doesn't recognize it as such, however, and I have to kill the process with TaskMgr.
The problem does NOT seem to be the plugin container itself because when I add the MOZ_DISABLE_OOP_PLUGINS environment variable to windows the problem still happens, just internalized to the firefox process.
Since I remote into the box a lot I have other users, all of which have no problems with firefox. It's only localized to the one user.

My suspicion is Flash, since that probably is the most commonly used plugin. Try disabling the protected mode feature, since that is currently being debugged. FireFox hangs up for a long time on most pages and sometimes never loads them. This is new phenomenon. What can I do to resolve this issue?

I attempt to open up a site. Firefox hangs for a 20-30 seconds on most sites and sometimes never opens the page, despite leaving it open for a long, long time. I find that if I go up to the address bar and hit "enter" on the page I'm trying to go to that most of the time I can then load the page after a couple of tries. This is obviously annoying and never used to happen. I'm looking for a fix. Thanks!

I had done that already. I brought it down to 30, which was recommended in another thread.
For most sites, Firefox works fine. But some of the primary sites I use for work hang up for long periods of time and frequently never load. I've tested the same sites with other browsers and they load quickly, so it is a Firefox issue.

Take each of these steps that you haven't already tried. Stop when the problem is resolved.
Step 1
The first step in dealing with a boot failure is to secure your data. If you want to preserve the contents of the startup drive, and you don't already have at least one current backup, you must try to back up now, before you do anything else. It may or may not be possible. If you don't care about the data that has changed since your last backup, you can skip this step.
There are several ways to back up a Mac that is unable to boot. You need an external hard drive to hold the backup data.
a. Boot into the Recovery partition, or from a local Time Machine backup volume (option key at startup.) When the OS X Utilities screen appears, launch Disk Utility and follow the instructions in this support article, under “Instructions for backing up to an external hard disk via Disk Utility.”
b. If you have access to a working Mac, and both it and the non-working Mac have FireWire or Thunderbolt ports, boot the non-working Mac in target disk mode. Use the working Mac to copy the data to another drive. This technique won't work with USB, Ethernet, Wi-Fi, or Bluetooth.
c. If the internal drive of the non-working Mac is user-replaceable, remove it and mount it in an external enclosure or drive dock. Use another Mac to copy the data.
Step 2
Press and hold the power button until the power shuts off. Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed to boot, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards. Use a different keyboard and/or mouse, if those devices are wired. If you can boot now, one of the devices you disconnected, or a combination of them, is causing the problem. Finding out which one is a process of elimination.
If you've booted from an external storage device, make sure that your internal boot volume is selected in the Startup Disk pane of System Preferences.
Step 3
Boot in safe mode. Note: If FileVault is enabled, or if a firmware password is set, or if the boot volume is a software RAID, you can’t do this. Post for further instructions.
Safe mode is much slower to boot and run than normal, and some things won’t work at all, including wireless networking on certain Macs.
The login screen appears even if you usually log in automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin.
When you boot in safe mode, it's normal to see a dark gray progress bar on a light gray background. If the progress bar gets stuck for more than a few minutes, or if the system shuts down automatically while the progress bar is displayed, your boot volume is corrupt and the drive is probably malfunctioning. In that case, go to Step 5.
If you can boot and log in now, empty the Trash, and then open the Finder Info window on your boot volume ("Macintosh HD," unless you gave it a different name.) Check that you have at least 9 GB of available space, as shown in the window. If you don't, copy as many files as necessary to another volume (not another folder on the same volume) and delete the originals. Deletion isn't complete until you empty the Trash again. Do this until the available space is more than 9 GB. Then reboot as usual (i.e., not in safe mode.)
If the boot process hangs again, the problem is likely caused by a third-party system modification that you installed. Post for further instructions.
Step 4
Sometimes a boot failure can be resolved by resetting the NVRAM.
Step 5
Launch Disk Utility in Recovery mode (see Step 1.) Select your startup volume, then run Repair Disk. If any problems are found, repeat until clear. If Disk Utility reports that the volume can't be repaired, the drive has malfunctioned and should be replaced. You might choose to tolerate one such malfunction in the life of the drive. In that case, erase the volume and restore from a backup. If the same thing ever happens again, replace the drive immediately.
This is one of the rare situations in which you should also run Repair Permissions, ignoring the false warnings it may produce. Look for the line "Permissions repair complete" at the end of the output. Then reboot as usual.
Step 6
Reinstall the OS. If your Mac was upgraded from an older version of OS X, you’ll need the Apple ID and password you used to upgrade.
Step 7
Repeat Step 6, but this time erase the boot volume in Disk Utility before installing. The system should automatically reboot into the Setup Assistant. Follow the prompts to transfer your data from a Time Machine or other backup.
Step 8
This step applies only to older Macs (not current models) that have a logic-board ("PRAM") battery. Both desktop and portable Macs used to have such a battery. The logic-board battery is separate from the main battery of a portable. A dead logic-board battery can cause a gray screen at boot. Typically the boot failure will be preceded by loss of the startup disk and system clock settings. See the user manual for replacement instructions. You may have to take the machine to a service provider to have the battery replaced.
Step 9
If you get this far, you're probably dealing with a hardware fault. Make a "Genius" appointment at an Apple Store to have the machine tested. If you can't get to an Apple Store, go to another authorized service provider.

First, back up all data immediately, as your boot drive might be failing.
There are a few other possible causes of generalized slow performance that you can rule out easily.
Reset the System Management Controller.
If you have many image or video files on the Desktop with preview icons, move them to another folder.
If applicable, uncheck all boxes in the iCloud preference pane.
Disconnect all non-essential wired peripherals and remove aftermarket expansion cards, if any.
Check your keychains in Keychain Access for excessively duplicated items.
If you have more than one user account, you must be logged in as an administrator to carry out this step.
Launch the Console application in the same way you launched Activity Monitor. Make sure the title of the Console window is All Messages. If it isn't, select All Messages from the SYSTEM LOG QUERIES menu on the left. If you don't see that menu, select
View ▹ Show Log List
from the menu bar.
Select the 50 or so most recent entries in the log. Copy them to the Clipboard (command-C). Paste into a reply to this message (command-V). You're looking for entries at the end of the log, not at the beginning.

All music is off the ipod.
When I connect to the computer to sync I still have songs that come up grey with the dashed circle.

If they were deleted from the computer and iTunes, the only way to listen to them again would be to insert the CD and listen to them from the CD or rip them from the CD again.

Firefox was working prior to updating to version 17. Then when I click it, it won't start. I tried to start in Safe Mode, also Reset Mode. I tried to uninstall version 17, and do a clean install. Also, I cannot run an older version of Firefox since there is something wrong with my System Restore which isn't keeping a copy. I have been doing things for sometime now. The addons don't seem to be the problem meaning it will start briefly once or twice, but it won't keep working. It just says to start in Safe Mode or Reset, it works once, then same problem reappears. Thanks. also, i've looked at the Profiles, but when I do, it also has a problem starting so I can't create a new profile. I've also tried running Firefox 14. Same thing. Everything is working same way. Any help is badly needed? I have also tried to run malware software. I can't do the memtest. Its too hard for me to try, but I don't think it's my memory. I stopped using FF since it's taken so long to try to fix. I don't won't to do a complete restore of my computer, but it sounds like my only option. What could possibly be wrong? However, when moving away to other sites and then clicking home the response was Alert - "The URL is not valid and cannot be loaded." Having trying everything (apart from using a large club!) Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of the extensions is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).

You can try the Asset History Sheet report S_ALR_87011990 (which has all fields except for cost center) and if you want additional fields you can choose to add new fields through the link [Include own fields in FI-AA standard ALV |https://wiki.sdn.sap.com/wiki/display/ERPFI/IncludeownfieldsinFI-AAstandardALV] the relevant report for Asset History Sheet should be Asset History Sheet -> FIAA_SALVTAB_RAGITT includes CI_REPRAGITT (out of RAGITT_ALV01). Else a quicker option would be to perform a vlookup process from another report that has cost centers like S_ALR_87011979.
