Firefox has been unsuccessfully attempting to download a software update for a few days now... What’s the problem?
If you have problems with updating then easiest is to download the full version and uninstall the currently installed version.<br />
You may need to remove the Firefox program folder to do a clean install of the new version.
Do a clean (re-)install:
* Download a fresh Firefox copy and save the file to the desktop.
* Firefox 4.0.x: http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all.html
* Uninstall your current Firefox version and remove the Firefox program folder before installing that copy of the Firefox installer.
* Do not remove personal data if you uninstall the current version.
* It is important to delete the Firefox program folder to remove all the files and make sure that there are no problems with files that were leftover after uninstalling.
Your bookmarks and other profile data are stored elsewhere in the [http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_folder_-_Firefox Firefox Profile Folder] and won't be affected by a reinstall, but make sure that you do not select to remove personal data if you uninstall Firefox.

Hopefully I can help resolve this issue for you. Try removing the preference to sync calendar events in iCloud preferences. Once this is down enable the preference again and see if this resolves the issue.
Turn iCloud Calendars off and back on:
Quit Calendar (or iCal).
Choose Apple () menu > System Preferences, then select iCloud.
Deselect the checkbox next to Calendars.
Close System Preferences and wait about a minute.
Open System Preferences and select iCloud.
Replace the checkmark next to Calendars.
Close System Preferences.
Open Calendar (or iCal) and test to see if the issue is resolved.
Restart your computer. This may sound simple, but it reinitializes your network and application settings and can frequently resolve issues.
If the issue persists, try all remaining steps in the article below.

Mac extremely slow since recently downloading latest "numbers" software update. Also Mac when put to sleep, will now wake up by itself and go back to sleep etc, etc. Please Help!

OK, thanks. First, open Disk Utility and the Repair Disk Permissions on your internal HD. You can find DU in Applications - Utilitie. After doing so please restart in Safe Mode, this is easily done by holding down the Shift Key on your keyboard when you hear the start up tone, you will see a progress bar appear letting yuo know it's starting in Safe Mode. Then reset the SMC and PRAM, instructions can be found by clicking iMac SMC and PRAM reset. Then retest. -
It is not just one site I am in - it just keeps crashing - asks me if I want to start over or go back but never goes back so have to completely get back into mail or whatever. It's becoming very annoying and will have to go to another internet site because this is just not right.

Facetime not working
The updating in Pakistan may have caused removal of FaceTime. You can check by either:
Swipe down on the home screen so you get a search field at the top and keyboard, and type FaceTime and search...see if it finds it.
You can also go to Settings > General > Reset > Reset Home Screen Layout and if FaceTime is on the iPhone it will reappear. -
Since the last automatic update (approx. one week ago) my Firefox has been running slow as molasses and I keep getting a "refresh" box popping up when the pages get hung up (very often)
What can I do to correct this? I clean my cache out at least once daily - most days more. Trying to download CS6 on my mac pro. when i click on Download, under my orders, it brings up an error page: JRun Servlet error, 413 Header Length to Large. It's been doing this each time I've tried that last few days. What can I do to download this?

I suspect you may want to try Microsoft's Mac Office support forums, since this appears to be an issue with their software.
What error message (if any) do you get if you try and start up Excel?
However, if it happened to me I'd probably remove Office and then resintall it from the original disks. That will take you back to the original shipping version of Office after which it should update you to the latest version.
Most likely when Microsoft's update software failed it managed to corrupt the Excel program files in such a way that they are no longer usable. So a resintallation of the program is likely the only real option to fix this one. -

Thank you for your reply, I did go to my general settings, but for some odd reason I don't have a restrictions setting, or a reset setting. I thought I could reset all the setting to see if it could be that, but as I said there aren't any.
My husband also has the iPad 2, and also did the software update and hasn't had any problems at all. I took both iPad's and compared the settings thinking maybe there could be a setting that could have been changed when the update was done. -

Is it possible to download only Software Updates for multiple Macs.
We currently have two 24inch iMacs, a 15 inch and a 17 inch MacBook Pro and a MacBook and only have limited download speeds in our regional area and only 1 Gb of data download allowance a month. Is there any way we can "download only" software updates on one computer and transfer the update to the other systems in Snow Leopard, like we did in Leopard. This does not appear to be possible in Snow Leopard. For us to upgrade all computers to 10.6.5, we would blow our data allowance for 2.5 months. And this does not take into account all the other updates that are available for installed Apple software. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

well, one way of doing that is to get the stand alone installer packages from [here|http://support.apple.com/downloads>, then either mount the .dmg's from the other Mac(s) or copy the .dmg's over the network.
i actually prefer this over software download - i usually install new software while booted into _*safe mode*_.

So my macbook pro turns off and i try to turn it on but it wont turn on then after a few days it turns back on. its been doing this alot sometimes it turns on after a few days sometimes it turns on after a few hours but i dont know what might be wrong

Firefox has been secretly saving my download history for the past 6+ months
Looking for an explanation here if someone (preferably from the Firefox team) can provide one. I upgraded to version 20.0 this morning, and upon opening the new download manager window (Library) I was faced with my entire download history from the past 6+ months. This is something of a concern, because for as long as I've been using Firefox I've never had it set to remember my download history; it would always download a file and clear automatically to save me the bother of having to clear it manually.
It's rather concerning to me that a privacy setting has seemingly only been controlling what the user sees (i.e. an empty download history) as opposed to what Firefox is actually storing.
Is there a reason this has been happening? I'm already happy that it's nothing to do with DownThemAll as the files in the download history were not downloaded using DTA.Thanks for your reply Cor-el. The problem is that there were downloaded files showing in the new 'Library' that I no longer have on my system, plus the massive list included files that were 'Opened' as opposed to saved directly to a destination on my hard-drive.
If these files weren't present in my Downloads folder, and Firefox had not been showing these in my download history previously (that is, in versions 19 and earlier), I still can't work out why it was storing information that wasn't visible to the user, or where this information suddenly appeared from.
I appreciate this may be a simplistic view, but by my logic: Either the download history is stored and thus is visible to the user, or it isn't being stored in which case there won't be anything visible to the user. Firefox seems to have ignored a privacy setting here, by storing download history but providing the illusion of privacy by simply hiding the information.
