so utpyrobabe: are you having the problems I'm experiencing.
my difficulty is this - I upgraded to firefox 4 and have experienced nothing but problems ever since, some web pages aren't loading, the web pages that do load take an extremely long time to do so and are accompanied with "mozilla firefox is not responding" messages. and I'm having difficulty opening yahoo.
what [if anything] have you done about the problems you're having? are you using another internet browser? or have you decided to continue to use firefox?

  • Firefox has not been saving any of my preferences when I close the program in addition to resetting to a manual proxy that does not connect every time I re-open the program

For a while now, every time I close the program and later reopen it, it attempts to utilize a proxy I didn't set for it. It does not connect and ends up not going anywhere. I then change the settings to no proxy and continue...however this is very irritating. Additionally, I cannot seem to change my homepage permanently, so I believe the issue involves Firefox not saving information when it closes. Not sure how to fix that though, as I have tried reinstalling it with little effect.

  • Why ?? on EVERY web search do I get a message saying " Firefox has prevented this web site ". These are trusted sites for the most part

I reloaded the Free version of Firefox browser about two months ago. Since then EVERY TIME I browse, with just a few exceptions, Firefox displays a message bar across the top of the screen saying " Firefox has prevented this site" with the message there is a check box asking "ALLOW?" When I check the ALLOW most times I get the web page BUT on some occasions Firefox just continues to block the page.
The sites and pages I am referring to here are for the most TRUSTED places.
This has been happening since I reloaded. It was NOT an issue prior to that.
It is VERY annoying and I have since switched to Google Chrome.
If you can offer some reasoning or explanation as to why this is happening I will be appreciative.
    Thank You. mLowe51

If you find a version of Firefox that isn't free, let us know because that likely would be a scam...
It would be helpful to know the rest of that phrase because two things come to mind but I might be missing the one you're actually seeing.
    * Popup windows: Firefox will display an infobar like that when a popup window is blocked. If you don't ever want to block popups, you can turn that feature off in the Options dialog:<br><br>"3-bar" menu button (or Tools menu) > Options > Content > ''Uncheck'' Block pop-up windows
    * Redirect: Firefox has an accessibility feature that blocks some redirects. You can unblock them in the Options dialog:<br><br>"3-bar" menu button (or Tools menu) > Options > Advanced > General mini-tab > ''Uncheck'' Warn me when websites try to redirect or reload the page
Is either of those the solution?

  • I have three problems with Firefox 3.6.8 that 3.6.9 hasn't fixed: 1) Firefox has stopped responding to any and all javascripts, 2) Firefox won't play any embedded videos, and 3) Firefox won't let me open up new windows.

Every new link has to be opened in a new tab, or nothing happens. No matter how I try, I can't open more than one window with Firefox. Worst of all, if I surf the Internet for more than an hour, all these problems have a cumulative effect and Firefox simply crashes. I'd uninstall 3.6.9 and reinstall 3.6.6 (which gave me no problems) if I could only figure out how to save and export all my passwords and user IDs first -- that's way too much to have to input again from scratch!!

Do you have that problem when running in the Firefox SafeMode?

  • PC-LinuxOS: Firefox has Adobe8 reader, but any site with a PDF shows a blank screen. I must download and Open with Adobe Reader. How do I reinstall?

The Firefox browser works fine, however if I attempt to open a PDF within the browser, it does not open it.
I'm just not familiar enough with the system, but understand I should be able to use a command line to access a directory, and by erasing a file, cause the system to reassociate the add-on.
I do not know the proceedure, nor which directories I need to access to reset this add-on so Firefox can reassociate it.

What is your operating system?  Reader version?  Downloading from what browser?

  • My Firefox has been hijacked. I keep getting pages that ask for money to be released

I have a page with the address "fvseni.avoidbacksurgerykitsap.com" that I can get rid of. The page text says my browser has been blocked and they want $500 to a Paypal account to unblock it. If I try to close the tab in my browser, it just creates new tabs with the same page demands. Right now I have over a dozen tabs with this page on them. How do i get rid of this hijacker?

I thought this old scam was gone for good after a fix in Firefox some time back, but unfortunately it sounds as though it lives on.
This is an old thread with some suggested approaches to escaping from such pages: [https://support.mozilla.org/questions/981475 WARNING FBI LOCKED BROWSER!!! ]
It's also possible that this could be caused by something installed on your PC. Bad add-ons and other malware can sneak in with free software installers. Here's my suggested procedure for tracking down and cleaning up bad add-ons. Sorry for the length -- it's not as bad as it sounds:
    (1) Open the Windows '''Control Panel''', Uninstall a Program. After the list loads, click the "Installed on" column heading to group the infections, I mean, additions, by date. This can help in smoking out undisclosed bundle items that snuck in with some software you agreed to install. Take out as much trash as possible here.
    (2) Open Firefox's '''Add-ons page''' using either:
    * Ctrl+Shift+a
    * "3-bar" menu button (or Tools menu) > Add-ons
In the left column, click '''Plugins'''. Set nonessential and unrecognized plugins to "Never Activate".
In the left column, click '''Extensions'''. Then, if in doubt, disable (or Remove, if possible) unrecognized and unwanted extensions.
Often a link will appear above at least one disabled extension to restart Firefox. You can complete your work on the tab and click one of the links as the last step.
    Any improvement?
    (3) You can search for remaining issues with the '''scanning/cleaning tools''' listed in our support article: [[Troubleshoot Firefox issues caused by malware]]. These on-demand scanners are free and take considerable time to run. If they finish quickly and especially if they require payment, you may have a serious infection. I suggest the specialized forums listed in the article in that case.
    Success?

  • 4g service has become non-service for past 10 days

My 4g service which I have been using for the past year became "not available" on my mifi log. I have called V several times and most techs have tried to evade the antenna issue and blame my equipment ETC...
The transmissions have reverted to 3G for the past 10 days and last night it fell to 1X for a short period of time and then returned to 3G.
I have a IPAD so just to try and nail down the problem I decided to take my IPAD and MIF router in my truck and turn on logging to map coverage in my area and capture screens of the log as I moved around the area.
What I found is that I can pick up a 4G signal within 2/10th of a mileonly  in the northeast quadrant of the cells area. I drove around the southern arc of the towers general area and the only transmission was 3g. Even  directly under the tower there was no 4G transmission.
When I returned to the northeast quadrant 4g came on again.
I was able to find a person in tech support who asked me to compose a email of the logs with info about when and where etc.
I sent the complete email  to her and she responded that she had forwarded it to the network dept for analysis.
    Have not heard back yet..
BTW... THe 3g logs reveal that it is in a special roaming mode 64.... whereas in 4g roaming is zero.....
So as of now I am not happy at all......

I sent a another email this am to a contact in tech support re: special roaming code 64. She also responded to my. previous email that I wrote about on the previous post. Here is her response
I wanted to get back to you and let you know that the ticket that I opened for you on the 5th has made it higher than any other ticket has made it so far due to your screen shots you submitted to me and I was able to add into your ticket.  Our System Performance team is taking a very hard look at your area to see what can be done to help you.  As soon as I hear something, I will let you know.
I have also requested info on  "what "special roaming" code 64 means"
This is more then I have had in the past.... Perhaps things may happen ... "I hope"

  • HT4623 I updated my iPhone 3g to iOS 6 and it has not had service for a while. I have always used it as an iPod but now it says I have no service and is not letting me access it. What can I do?

What can I do to use my iPhone as an iPod. It says it had no service and when I connect it to itunes it says my iPhone couldn't be restored/connected. I have looked everywhere. I do have a Sim Card

Jailbroken devices are not support by this forum, or by Apple.  Apple reserves the right to refuse activation to any iOS device that is currently, or previously, been jailbroken.

  • Any Plans To Release NEW Firmware For E4200???

I can't believe that Cisco would release a router that has so many issues/bugs. It somewhat feels that people like myself who purchased this router are BETA TESTERS. It ticks me off that I spent $190 for a router that has yet to live up to the hype and perform up to expectations.
Seriously look at Netgear. They release a new firmware for the WNDR3700 on a WEEKLY basis and they actually LISTEN to their customers. Thus far we've been left in the dark from Cisco regarding the E4200. Their tech support is completely useless/worthless. All they tell you to do is reset the router and reflash with current/out-dated/beta firmware.
Some of the current issues of the E4200 (that needs to be addressed via new firmware):
-blinking white Cisco logo on top of router
-LAN connections not showing up in DHCP Client Table
-Wireless connections showing up as LAN and vice versa
    -inconsistent/sluggish wireless speeds
I've already gone through 2 E4200 routers and each have had the EXACT SAME problems. Coincidence? I think not.  I've got 2 more weeks left to return my current router. Unless a firmware is released to address these and other issues.....I'm moving on to another brand and I'm officially done with Cisco.
    Simply pathetic.

Then move to another brand. Linksys always had other update cycles then Netgear. If you like Netgear so much you should get a Netgear. Of course, other brands have similar issues with their wireless devices and you will find that even Netgear has some issues which they have difficulties to get fixed. Likewise the tech support which always depends on who you get connected to which is a gamble with any telephone support...
And don't forget that it's a consumer device designed to be extremely cheap. There is a reason why you would have to spend a multitude of what you have spent on the E4200 if you were to got the same functionality with Cisco Small Business or Cisco Classic devices which get excellent support and are extremely reliable. But even there, you only get a firmware upgrade every couple of months and they still have the one or other little hicup...

  • Is firefox down? No service for two days in our area (28079).

I have been unable to connect to the Internet via Firefox for two days; I have tried on my PC and netbook. Is Firefox not working in our area? All I get is a message 'firefox is not responding'

A possible cause is security software (firewall) that blocks or restricts Firefox or the plugin-container process without informing you, possibly after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program.
Remove all rules for Firefox from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full unrestricted access to internet for Firefox and the plugin-container process and the updater process.

  • Windows 7 64-bit and Weblogic Server: Any Planned Release

I went to Weblogic page to see if there was any version for Windows 7 OS 64-bit, but found none.
Is there any plan in the near future for a release... with JDK 1.6?
My development is planning to upgrade from WinxP-MyEclipse-WebLogic 9 to Windows 7-MyEclipse9-WebLogic xx, where xx is any WebLogic Server version supported by the first 2 development tools.
Please help, we need to make a decision soon.

    Hi NickDeNora,
According to your description, we need to verify if you install
    Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 SP1 Redistributable Package (x86) and
correct the manifest file. The manifest file is readable (although empty), but we cannot edit it (even if you are an administrator). Only SYSTEM has access to the file. So to be able to edit it, you must first take ownership of
it and grant ACLs. After saving the file, then run the setup again.
