Firefox Having IE errors, acting like IE? pages double load?

As of like the past week i have been having a problem with firefox. Sometimes i cannot load pages , it loads the pages for a split second then i end up at a Internet exploer cannot display webpage screen. covers all pages ive tried... lately it has been working and loading pages but firefox is acting like IE, for example downloads use individual progress windows like IE insted of the tabbed download fire fox uses, pages seem to double load when first loaded and opened..and over all everything seems slow...tried running malware bytes, superanti spyware aand ad aware with no luck, downloaded the latest firefox from mozilla.com same issues... oh and i just tried to copy and paste add ons/extensions but everytime i click on the window it closes the add on screen???

I was having the exact same issue, firefox was acting like IE.
Ctrl F brought up the IE find dialogue, right click did not have "Open link in new tab", and so on.
I uninstalled "firefox accelerator" add-on and the problem was resolved.
Oddly, when Firefox restarted and attempted to reload my windows, each window address had the prefix :
chrome://ietab2/content/reloaded.html?url=
but I don't have the chrome browser installed.
Seems like Firefox Accelerator is some kind of malware!

Firefox sends an error message when I try to load Facebook.

For the last few days, I would try to go to the log-in page on facebook and firefox delivers an error message saying, "The connection to the server was reset while the page was loading" and then never loads facebook. I have deleted my browsing history, cleared my cookies and cache. I tested my internet connection (which showed no problems) and I even restarted my computer 5 times! Firefox will navigate to all other websites just fine (hotmail, youtube, myspace, etc) just not facebook.

A good general step for strange issues is to renew the iPhoto preference file - quit iPhoto and go to "your user name" ==> library ==> preferences ==> com.apple.iPhoto.plist and trash it - launch iPhoto which creates a fresh new default preference file and reset any personal preferences you have changed and if you have moved the iPhoto library repoint to it. This may help
This does not affect your photos or any database information (keywords, faces, places, ratings, etc) in any way - they are stored in the iPhoto library - the iPhoto preference file simply controls how iPhoto works - which is why renewing it is a good first step.

I get an error message when a page is loaded from another application

When another application try's to load a webpage, I get a small dialog box. Across the top (border) is the webpage address, within the dialog box is the following, "there was a problem sending the command to the program".
However, the page does load, but I have to keep clicking 'ok' to get rid of the dialog box

You can't use Safari to download iPad apps. Only use iTunes/App Store.

Disney Jr coloring pages will not load using Firefox on my iMac, using Safari the pages will load.

I have a Apple iMac desktop computer that is about a year old, when using Firefox to access the Disney Jr. website the only problem I have is the pages that need to be printed to color will not load, the rest of the site works as it should. When I use Safari to access the same website there are no problems, I prefer to use Firefox as my browser of choice.

Clear the cache and the cookies from sites that cause problems.
"Clear the Cache":

"Remove Cookies" from sites causing problems:
*Firefox > Preferences > Privacy > Cookies: "Show Cookies"

To where are you persisting your sessions? If you don't care about session persistance, try making this change in your server.xml.

I just spent 3 days with this issue as well. I finally fixed it by reluctantly adding yet another add-on called ADBLOCK
I was able to selectively block google-analytics. Now pages that weren't loading before are now loading.
eg vimeo.com starbucks.com & other random sites.
This was a tough one to fix because there is NO ERROR MESSAGE..page just shows it's loading...forever..& the bottom of my browser says 'waiting for google analytics'. I finally figured out google analytics is the culprit. Ironically, some help pages in trying to find a fix wouldn't load for me due to google analytics arghhh!
Im on a macbookpro & Safari worked fine for these same sites. It was just Firefox. I nearly switched back to Safari because of this stupid issue.

Won't open "pages" on certain websites, however, it acts like it wants to, even opens a "tab" for it and all I get is a white screen?

After about 5 minutes, it usually tells me that the scripts on the page aren't running or something like that. I can always get onto the homepage of whatever site I'm having problems with, but any other page within that site is a no go. My java script is on so not sure what else to check. I like the idea of using FF instead of Windows, but if this persists I'll have to go back. I need to be able to get info from certain sites for work related stuff.

I am having this problem with TONS of blogs... it is so frustrating. They all open just fine in IE. I prefer Firefox but I might have to switch to a different browser if this keeps up.

I get an e-mail with go-comics and the ones I want to post links to I'll open in the browser as I read them in the e-mail so I regularly have a dozen tabs open (all the same site) by the time I'm through the e-mail. Every third or fourth page will hang up on something (connecting to or waiting for) sometimes not loading a single image, sometimes loading half the page, sometimes loading everything but the comic (because, hey, why put that as the first thing to load when you've got all these ads and crap to throw at your paying customers?).
At some point a couple of months ago I got some malware associated with trovisearch (I do not know how that got past security and java blocker but it did, probably some hidden crap in something from CNET) that somehow spoofed a page for Housecall and added five or six pieces of malware and adware. I cleaned for two days after and still can't find anything left on the computer even though I've been running scans constantly to try to make Firefox work right. I downloaded and ran a scan using Kaspersky during that time and then uninstalled it. That very well may be the cause of the post-refresh SSL issue.
I have Spybot and Malwarebytes scan logs from the time of the infection if that would help in any way. It doesn't look like there's a way to attach .xml files in this forum, though.
I can also run hijack this and copy and paste if that would help.
I'm currently running Windows Defender and rely on that and Noscript and adblocker plus to keep me isolated from most attacks (I don't have those add-ons re-installed yet). I also run Peerblock because they add malicious sites and known hacking sources (like Chinanet) to what they block as well as all the fake p2p stuff that's constantly pinging the computer. If I'm treading around in perilous waters I run Sandboxie.
Chrome is working as normal but Firefox feels like dial-up or worse right now and without adblocker I might as well be using IE.

Firefox keeps acting like it crashed everytime I open it.

A possible cause is that you are first closing all Firefox windows and then close the Firefox application.
Some have reported that closing Firefox (Firefox > Quit) while the browser window is still open works for them.
If this still doesn't work properly then you can consider to disable crash recovery, but note that you will lose open tabs in case a real crash occurs.

Force quit the application and try again.

Basically I want to replace the Ajax Control Toolkit Slider in favor of the Component One Studio for iPhone Slider for better mobile/desktop consistency (the ajax slider doesn't work well with iPhone). I created a simple page that works on every browser and platform (iPhone, Android, Mac, Windows) except Firefox, which fails on every platform. I have already tried disabling all plugins (safe mode) and clearing cache, I have also tried this with different versions of Firefox on different platforms. I posted this error on the Component One forum but since this only occurs with Firefox I believe this is a Firefox issue.
I searched for this error on the forums and Google but didn’t get any results:

Visit the same URL with IE, Chrome or Safari and there is no error. If I click [OK] the page loads normally enough for me. Is there some JavaScript or CSS line I can put in the page to make Firefox ignore the error? If so that would be great because even if there is a fix put into Firefox itself there will be those millions of users out there that will not upgrade.

I do not like the bookmarks and history pop-out... Firefox was above the bar, now I have 2 copies of internet explorer on my computer, one with an icon that looks like an E and one that looks like my old firefox browser.... This was a result of the update 23.0.1 this morning, it was perfect when I went to bed last night.... Maybe I should use Chrome?

Yesterday iTunes worked - today, it acts like it's newly installed (won't show any of my music or playlists) - what could have made it forget everything it knew yesterday and how can I fix it without having to redo all my previous work?

The title says it all. iTunes was working fine last night. I added some more music to my playlists and synched my iPod last night, then shut down. Today, when I start iTunes it opens up a welcome to setup screen and acts like it wants me to answer questions to configure it for the first time. When I cancel out of that, it opens up a normal iTunes screen that's completely empty of music and has none of my custom playlists (all the playlists it does show are empty) and it's asking me if I want to have it search my PC and add media files, as if it's newly installed and that's never been done.
Has anybody seen this behavior before, and is there some simple way I can fix it so it remembers all the stuff it knew last night, without having to start all over again and rebuild all my playlists and stuff?

For general library squiffiness following an upgrade the easiest thing is to restore your last backup, but I guess if it were that simple you wouldn't be here.
Empty/corrupt library after upgrade/crash
Hopefully it's not been too long since you last upgraded iTunes, in fact if you get an empty/incomplete library immediately after upgrading then with the following steps you shouldn't lose a thing or need to do any further housekeeping. In the Previous iTunes Libraries folder should be a number of dated iTunes Library files. Take the most recent of these and copy it into the iTunes folder. Rename iTunes Library.itl as iTunes Library (Corrupt).itl and then rename the restored file as iTunes Library.itl. Start iTunes. Should all be good, bar any recent additions to or deletions from your library.
See iTunes Folder Watch for a tool to catch up with any changes since the backup file was created.
When you get it all working make a backup!
