I've installed Firefox Sync on my desktop and Firefox Home on my iPhone 3Gs. However I can't log in to it on my phone. It keeps coming up with an error message: "Login Failure - unspecified failure". Well how the heck am I supposed to know what the problem is if it's "unspecified"? When going to help page it says go to tools, options, and click on sync and change your password. I don't have that option. In fact I don't have the ability to change anything. Am I doing something wrong? I don't know what to do at this point.

I have the exact same problem. Apparently it may have something to do with using uppercase characters in my username. I can't find any way to edit my username tho, especially as I have no access to the 'manage account' option.
Think I'll probably delete the add-on and app soon as I really have no problem with safari on my iphone just thought I'd see if it was any good.....obviously not

Home places + home doesn't work!

I've just set my wife's laptop up with Arch a few days ago and am having a couple of teething issues.
One is that Gnome's places/home doesn't work - I click it and nothing happens.
Any ideas how to troubleshoot or solve?

Firefox 4 doesn't work on my iBookG4, how can I revert to Firefox 3 with my bookmarks

I was encouraged to download Firefox 4. There was no warning it only works with Intel processors and so doesn't work on my iBook G4 (Power PC). I need to revert to Firefox 3, with all the saved bookmarks. How do I do it? Is there an "un-install/reinstate previous version option somewhere?

Safari works at home, doesn't work at work!

I do not understand why Safari does not work at work but works fine at home. I am on LAN at work and on airport at home. Sites load very slow, and in most sites, which require login or filling forms (yahoo mail, mapquest, bank sites etc) take forever or do not load at all. ( I dont think my work will have filters for mapquest and apple!) For example, I tried to login thrice in apple discussions after which I gave up and am now writing from Firefox. Reset Safari solves the problem sometimes, but I don't think I should be doing this everytime I go to a site.
All the sites work in Firefox, and also they work in Safari from home

The "disappearing" affect you describe is not normal. You may need to reinstall Safari.
First, try removing the Apple cookies from your Safari Preferences>Security>Cookies panel. Also, go to your Safari Menu and Empty cache. Then try to log-on to Apple Discussions.
Also, regarding the "disappearing" effect, try Safari from another User Account.
Here is guidance from Apple on how to set up the account. You can ignore step 7 in the article.
Also, on the system preference>Accounts panel, click on "log-in" options. There, select "fast user switching". This allows you to go back and forth between user accounts via an icon in your Menu Bar at the top of the computer screen.
Log-on to the new account and start Safari. If Safari is stable in the new account, then your problem is specific to your regular user account. Otherwise, similar response means a system-wide problem.
Post back with results.

Since updating Firefox, Dashlane doesn't work, but I am told you are working on it? When can I expect it to work again?

I updated Firefox and started to use it again, after having problems with it freezing and crashing. I had used it for years, but suddenly it was not working well and I went to Safari. When they indicated an update to Firefox, I updated it and started to again use it, as I always liked the way it worked and most of my Bookmarks were still good. I found that Dashlane did not work with it and I have been told you are aware of this and working on the problem. Please notify me when it is solved, as I want to continue to use Firefox but have to switch back to another browser to get to my bank or stock brokers site. For the record, I use a MacBook with OS 10.6.8.

Could you check to make sure Dashlane is up-to-date? Two other Mac users this week reported success:

Can't Join Group Chats, Can't Receive Files, and Skype Home Doesn't Work

Okay, so back when Windows 8 was newer I got my current laptop and when I saw Skype's original Windows 8 design, I said hell no to that and downloaded an earlier version of Skype instead. When Skype did that big overhaul and stopped support for all older versions, I was at least happy to see it was back to being on the desktop instead of that Windows 8 pseudo-tablet nonsense. But at the same time, I stopped getting notifications from Skype Home - it always says it's unavailable. Some time after that, in between Skype's updates, I started having trouble with Groups. Every time someone tried to add me to one, I couldn't see it, even if they said I was in it on their screen. Eventually I had to start making all Group Chats myself, because at least then it worked for me... up until the 7.7 update. Now no matter how I try to get into a Group now, it straight up doesn't work. And before I got locked out of Groups entirely, I started having issues with files, right around when the "inline photos" thing happened - they just don't work when sent to me, and I can't send them either. When people try to send them to me it's just a grey image and something about how it's not supported or it didn't go through. I've sort of just been patiently dealing with all of it until the newest update when Groups stopped working entirely and I was in the middle of trying to join an important conversation. I Googled that specific issue and found a ton of unresolved threads about it dating back to at least 2013, I believe. I tried every suggestion I could find - I restarted, uninstalled Skype, reinstalled Skype, restarted after uninstalling and then reinstalling... the list goes on. Every time I got it back, it was the same. Now I'm on Windows 8.1, and I don't know if that's related, but my boyfriend - who uses a Mac - is having none of these problems whatsoever, and he also has the latest version of Skype. With older versions of Skype not available, I ended up trying Skype Web, and it's letting me see all the Groups, which is the most important thing but I'd really prefer to go back to the desktop version. All three of my issues might be unrelated, but they've all progressed as Skype has updated so I figured I'd try to get help for all of them. I'm at my wit's end, here. I use Skype for a pretty large portion of my online communication, and being unable to use Groups or get files is really crippling the experience.

It's a public chat and joining is enabled.
With my former laptop and former Skype-Version, I never had this problem.
I could click on a link in the browser and joined to the group.
I have to chose a program.
Unfortunately Skype.exe seems not to be the right decision.
I'm asked to get a Skype-app, which I never needed with the old version.
Which kind of app do I need and how can I get the app or what else can I do?

Firefox: YouTube doesn't work, neither does Hotmail. What's wrong????

I used to love my Firefox but lately it has become one big head ache. I have v3.6 since I had heard so many complaints about V4, and am always afraid to lose my beloved add ons (Sxipper, Morning Coffee) when I update. These are the things that make my daily life easier. Sxipper should be adopted by you guys since they are being faced out and is the best password option ever.
Anyway, neither YouTube or Hotmail work on FF anymore. So am now being forced to use IE or Chrome, but I would love to keep my FF. None of the solutions offered for either problem have helped me.

I have the same problem. Actually, it started when I switched the language on my iPhone to Spanish. Because Siri doesn't work in Spanish, I switched back to English. But the dictionary now is a mess. So, I reset the dictionary, but that didn't help. I tried restoring my iPhone but that didn't help either, I assume because when I restored, it picked up the bad dictionary. I can't restore to an earlier date because I can't lose me texts. But I am surprised that resetting the dictionary had no effect whatsoever.

When I had IEXP. I would save a picture from email to My Pictures. With Firefox it doesn't work. Saved pic shows a box w/IEx & no pic.

When I save a picture from my email to My Pictures the picture doesn't appear. A box appears in My Pictures that shows Internet Explorer (E) and no picture of what I tried to save. The jpeg also wasn't at the bottom drop down box. I could name the picture but it didn't transfer over. I use to have Internet Explorer when the pictures were put into the My Pictures but have now gone to using Firefox. Did changing to Firefox cause me not to be able to use My Pictures for the email pictures I'm trying to save?

Which method are you using to save the picture? Typically it works to right-click and use Save Image As.
If that option is not available or does not work, is the image a link (for example a small thumbnail image linked to a larger version)? In that case, you might try Ctrl+clicking the link to open the image in a new tab and see whether you can then save it successfully.

Firefox 14 doesn't work on Samsung Galaxy S2 with Android 4.0.3

After Firefox update to version 14, it doesn't open any site from awesome bar and only once from thumbnail from home page.

Is there a way for me to find anymore details about this error so i can post it here? Everytime i try to sync, it asks me to setup and account or use existing account. So i always use the existing account and i have to input my username, password, and recovery key every time. How can i make Firefox sync remember my information for my profile?

Domain guessing in Firefox 4 doesn't work

One reason I jumped back to Firefox 3.X from 4 beta was the fact domain guessing did not work. Back to 3.X and it started working again.
The settings in 4's about:config are there and are set to "true". I just doesn't.

Firefox plugin doesn't work

Installed a clean install of Vista, Firefox and Quicktime.
When I try to watch a quicktime video on the internet it plays with the media player plugin. I tried to disable the media player plugin, but it ended without a video (not even a black square, like there is no video on the page).
When I was on XP, this plugin always crashed Firefox, and now on vista, it doesn't even work!
