Firefox homepage version check does NOT identify outdated version of Firefox

I have Firefox version 23.0.1 installed, update is set to "check for updates, but let me instal them". However it is not notifying me of up dates I know are available. I therefore did a manual update via Firefox>Help>About Firefox.
It says "updates are available at www.firefox.com
Clicking on link takes me to the FF homepage but the version check says,
"Congrats! You’re using the latest version of Firefox"
But a new version (24.0) of FF has been out for over 2 weeks
Clicking on "download a fresh copy" takes me to the page the language version page, all of which are at ver 24.0. I have downloaded and installed ver 24.0 on another laptop which had the same problem (I will shortly fix this one also), so this post is to see if this is a widespread issue .......

John Your remark (on other thread) about UAS made me think. I therefore closed FF (ver 23.0.1) and restarted it via the "run as administrator" option.
You will see from my answer on the other thread (https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/972803?esab=a&as=aaq) it seems to allow FF to update normally and the www.firefox.com homepage version check to work properly.
So both my systems are now fixed (though I guess I may have the same issue when next update comes out). However that still means there could be a lot of less technical (or lazy) users out there that are not updating FF because of this .......

Lightroom does not identify jpg images as duplicates

I'm using Lightroom 5.3. I'm importing images to my catalog from one external drive to another using the "copy" function. I have "do not import suspected duplicates" checked, but Lightroom does not identify duplicate jpg images as such and lists them as new files to import. If I import these images they show up in my database/catalog with the -2 designation. The images are identical in filename, capture time, size and EXIF info. I have tried removing my preferences file and starting another but that doesn't change the behavior. I have seen other posts with similar issues but cannot find a solution that works for me. I don't see this listed as a bug either. If anyone has suggestions for a fix I would appreciate it. Thank you.

There is a catalog-specific preference whether to allow LR to adjust date/time values in raw files. I think that is for LR to add a timezone or not. Since these are JPGs maybe this setting doesn’t apply, but maybe the JPGs were imported from RAWs that had it set, or maybe the setting does apply to JPGs, now, too.
It would be worth checking the catalog-specific setting and playing with it to see if you can get the timezone to either exist or not existing for both the images, depending on which one has it, now.
If your current system timezone is not UTC-7, then it would make sense for LR to interpret the images without a timezone to be in the system timezone and different than the ones that have a timezone associated with them.
If the pictures were taking across multiple timezones then there probably isn’t’ a good way to get them all to have the corresponding timezone as the other copy you’re trying to import.

My iPod Nano 7 was unplugged improperly, iTunes detects but does not identify help?

My iPod Nano 7th generation was unplugged improperly and now I seem to have a whole host of problems. Itunes detects it but does not identify it - sometimes (also post- improper unplug) it would be identified by iTunes, but it wouldn't sync properly. The computer would scan and fix the ipod every time I plugged it in, but never found any problems. Also, every time I plug it in I get a warning window that the device could work faster if I plugged it into a 2.0 USB port, which I have checked that my computer has, updated all of the "enhanced USB ports" and I've checked the Apple port and it's fine. I have also tried all of the USB ports I have, the warning window pops up for all of them. I have uninstalled and re-installed iTunes, restarted my computer and my ipod numerous times. Sometimes I get a warning window about missing files on my iPod, but I don't know how to fix that issue.

We bought a time capsule then the wifi has a problem since it does not identify the existing wireless network and it says that its need to have an update firmware. The existing firmware is 7.3.1, does it have an newest update firmware existing now?

How old is that Time Capsule? The fact that it still have firmware 7.3.1 suggests that it's not the latest model. The latest firmware available for my two-year-old model is version 7.5.2. Apple does provide firmware updates. You just have to let the Time Capsule download and install them. Use AirPort Utility to do that.
Regarding your Wi-Fi problem, please explain what you mean by "it does not identify the existing wireless network".
By the way, you've been misled by poor field labeling on this forum into typing a large part of your message into the field intended for the subject. In the future just type a short summary of your post into that field and type the whole message into the field below that.

I tried posting for same vendor (and also Co Code) with amount $ 100, Reference 1234 Invoice date Nov 01, 2011. System does not allow. This is fine.
Now I change only date, from Nov 01 to Nov 02, and system allow posting.
Why I don't get the error message when date is different ? It should not be treated as a different invoice since invoice reference, amount, Vendor and Co Codes are same.
SAP documentation says that it checks document date during duplicate invoice check even for FI invoices, then why does it allows in this case.
Is this a bug ?
I already tried changing settings in SPRO under LIV, this does not impact FB60 invoice booking.

Use BTE - 1110 - (Check on Invoice Duplication) for FB60. Take the help of your ABAPer to make a coding in Function module mentioned in BTE.
Need to make a copy of the FM and then you can do relevant coding.

Sound check does not work with dock connector

I have the 60GB video iPod. Sound check does not function when using the dock connector, i.e. plugged into my Belkin Autokit or a Kensington SoundDock. However, it functions as intended when used with the headphone jack. I previously used a 4G iPod, and sound check did function with the dock connector using those same products.
I am wondering if this could be:
a) a compatibility issue between the 5G connector and the older accessories
b) a firmware issue (I am using the 10-12-05 updater)
c) a bug in the 5G units
d) a bad unit (i.e. mine only)
If there is someone out there who has the same setup and could test this, it would help me. I could eliminate (a), (b), and (c) if yours works, and then I would try an exchange of my unit.

I have a similar problem. I've never really used sound check but I recenty installed a Harman/Kardon Drive+Play iPod interface. The sound quality using the dock connection is not great. It sound somewhat distorted. It sounds much better through the headphone port. i always thought the dock connector would provide a cleaner signal. I will borrow a click wheel 4G iPod to see if the problem is with the interface or my video iPod.

Link checker does not seem to see some broken links-why?

I have a problem with the link checker, it does not seem to report some broken links. Here is the context in which it happens.
My site root folder contains (subset) :
index.php
Templates/child_userarea.dwt
user-area/downloads.html
(The file downloads.html is based on child_userarea.dwt.)
In the template, I have <a href="../../index.php" title="Home page">Home</a>.
In downloads.html, this link appears as <a href="file:///M|/Website/index.php" title="Home page">Home</a>.
According to this post http://forums.adobe.com/message/934203#934203 by Murray, this is because Dreamweaver (CS4 in my case) thinks that index.php is outside the site root folder. I understand it thinks so because indeed ../../index.php points to the folder parent of the root folder. What I don't get is why doesn't the link checker report that ../../index.php does not exist? (And I'm sure it doesn't, there is no file called index.php outside the root folder.)

That's the thing, it is correct! I have checked many times. Here is what is says:
and M:\Website\CERC15\ does exist.
For the time being, I have corrected the paths in the template, so for that particular file, it is now ok. However, I have no idea whether other paths are wrong since I am not sure any longer whether they are spotted by the link checker. I searched for other instances of file:///M|/Website and there is none left.
I suspect this is just one more problem due to another problem non-identified so far (see e.g.http://forums.adobe.com/thread/506149?tstart=30). Since I renamed a big batch of files, I have had problems after problems: the templates disappearing (see that other post); I also lost all the files in 4 other folders (files for download linked to the pages through <a> tags); and Dreamweaver has become particularly slow (but this seems to have been fixed with erasing the cache and the personal preferences).
I'd like to start from scratch again (and why not reinstall Dreamweaver), but I don't know how to recreate the site from zero without loosing anything (e.g. links to templates).

Preview does not identify all problems?

I used iBooks Author to make a fairly elaborate book (Cosmic Cat) and published it on iTiunes. Lacking an iPad, I previewed it on my Mac using iBooks, where it works perfectly, including all the various widgets. However, people who have bought the book for their iPads tell me that one of the widgets, a Keynote presentation, does not work (although the other Keynotes all do). I have no clue about how to fix this. Even if I had an iPad, I'm not sure I'd learn anything except that it does not work. Apple Support offers no help or suggestions other than to pay an outside source to assemble my book. Does anyone have any suggestions about how I should approach this?

I have seen many times with problems, that author either blames some part of Apple system to create, deliver and sell books. It usually tuns out to the problem is within the book - the Pain... is finding it.
I have seem the online video - which is brilliant, but that does not show the problem.
I would take two lines on this, the first being to contact the review team and ask how your book passed into the store when it seems buyers are reporting a a glaring problem with a widget, and ask if they can check the iBooks version.
Second is to revisit your widget construction.
Have you analysed what - if anything is different with the one Keynote giving a problem, than the others which are OK.
Have you tried rebuilding the Keynote? if not perhaps you can open a new "practice" book and use it to test the Keynote without risk to the main project master files.
Additionally, I would suggest you start a new post on iBooks Author discussiuon group, many of the user of iBA, do not check out other groups, and maybe you will find more Keynotes users who have the knowledge I lack to help you.

Spell Checker does not replace the wrong spelling with the right one

I have a GWT application which has a textarea. When the user types a wrong spelling, it gets underlined in red. When the user right clicks on the wrong spelling, the popup menu provides some suggestions; The user clicks on one of the suggestions but the wrong spelling does not get replaced.
The javascript console contains the following error:

Openoffice german-spell-checking does not work anymore

I noticed that spell-checking in openoffice does not with the german dict. (openoffice-spell-de) while the english dict. does. (openoffice-spell-en).
Is this only a problem of my setup or a global problem? is there a workaround for that?

Mac does not identify projector anymore.

Until recently, I used my Mac as a DVD-player and connected it to a projector to watch my movies. Suddenly my Mac can identify it anymore. The projector itself still works fine. I've tried to change the HDMI cable but that didn't make any difference. I have not yet bought a new mini VGA to HDMI adapter to see if that is the poblem, but I somehow doubt that that would be it.
Whenever I plug in the cable into my mac, the computer seems to react to it but it never goes any further than that. Any tips would be greatly appreciated!

I've come across the same problem recently. My MBP Mid-2010 OS: 10.6.8. does not recognize projectors for .ppt presentation through RGB adaptor neither my tv through the HDMI adaptor. These adaptors worked for more than a year without any problems... up to now.
Although there is a fraction of seconds when I see my desktop projected on the linked device, it disapeared and there are no clues suggesting a device is connecting to the MBP (or the opposite). It's like both devices does not detect each other at all...
I'll really need this fix for work and home entertainement purposes.
Please help.

You need to look at a different solution that allows this, e.g. home-grown solution, 3rd party, and I believe Forefront Identity Manager can also accomplish this task. There are quite a few self-service password management solutions out there. Search on
that term, and you should be able to find something that works for you.

Keep getting message "wants access to your keychain" but does not identify what wants access

I keep getting a message "wants access to your keychain" but the process asking is not identified. I think it is a process called usbmuxd which I understand is fine but even when i say allays allow it keeps popping up. Any thoughts?
