Firefox - IE - Preview - Mismatch

I have transferred a Photoshop-design for a website using
Fireworks.
The Layout appears perfectly in Dreamweaver and both the
preview of Internet Explorer and Firefox using the function in
Dreamweaver.
As soon as I open the online-link in Firefox the table looks
deranged.
Internet Explorer makes no problems with the display.
What is the reason for the different appearance in the
firefox-preview an onlineview?

Hi,
You have a number of images missing due to the fact that the
paths to
them are pointing to your hard drive - like so.....
<img
src="file:///C|/Dokumente%20und%20Einstellungen/Dirk/Desktop/Homepage/spacer.gif"
width="25" height="1" border="0" alt="">
Also you are not using a valid (or any for that matter)
doctype or
character set - try this at the top of your template......

  • How to Install Firefox metro preview in Windows 8?

    Nothing happened.

  • Links (urls) inside a pdf document are not enabled by the New firefox pdf preview feature but are in Chrome & IE

The new pdf preview feature in firefox desktop does NOT seem to activate any links (urls) inside the pdf meaning they are no longer clickable.
Is anyone else experiencing this problem.
I send out product information using pdf's with clickable links inside (as do lots of businesses) and this loss of clickable links functionality is a problem.
I also tried the same pdf files in IE and Chrome and their inline pdf previews keep all links fully working.
I know the pdf preview in firefox can be deactivated and the adobe reader can be used instead but in reality lots of people won't know how to do this or won't be troubled to find out how and will just move on.
Does anyone know if this feature is going to be fixed or supported or is it a deliberate security feature.
    Thanks.
    JP.

    Hey JPEdwards,
The PDF.js team is still hard at work on the built-in viewer. It looks like there is already a bug on file for this and they are aware of it:
    https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=821599
Please don't post in the bug if you are just confirming that you've seen the problem too. That clutters the tickets ;)

  • I cant' print using firefox. print preview won't display, won't print, printing dialog box won't display, etc

Seems like since I updated to firefox 5 I can't print web pages, print preview won't work. I click on the print option under file and nothing displays or prints.

Try the Firefox SafeMode and see if you can initiate printing from within Firefox. <br />
    ''A troubleshooting mode, which disables most Add-ons.'' <br />
''(If you're not using it, switch to the Default Theme.)''
    # You can open the Firefox 4/5/6/7 SafeMode by holding the '''Shft''' key when you use the Firefox desktop or Start menu shortcut.
    # Or use the Help menu item, click on '''Restart with Add-ons Disabled...''' while Firefox is running. <br />
''To exit the Firefox Safe Mode, just close Firefox and wait a few seconds before using the Firefox shortcut (without the Shft key) to open it again.''
If it is good in the Firefox SafeMode, your problem is probably caused by an extension, and you need to figure out which one. <br />

  • Firefox print preview

This is not a question, it is more of a statement of a Print Preview issue in Firefox 4.01 and 3.6.
When using min-height styling on a webpage, if an element (any element) extends beyond one page while using print-preview, then the element stretches AGAIN to that min-height on the second page.. In other words, min-height is re-applied, even though the element may already be that greater than that min-height.

Haha, Mr. Smarty Pants, that is pretty much exactly what we ended up doing :) Very quick answer, though, nice stuff. It took us about a half hour so of testing to find out what was causing this issue though... we couldn't figure out why the table was extending so far until I did a print screenshot and measured it in Paint and was able to connect the dots.
    (edit)
Preferably, rather than doing special, kooky css that i hope looks right, maybe Firefox can fix this.. I probably should have pushed this somewhere else.. it was just difficult for me to find the bug submit area.

  • Firefox thinks Preview is default pdf reader when it's not

Four times, I highlighted a pdf file, got info, changed to Adobe as default, clicked "change all." PDFs that are already on my computer are opening in Adobe, but downloaded PDFs are opening in Preview. Next to "Preview" in the download window, it says "(default)". This is a dropdown menu, but there are no other choices. There doesn't seem to be an option in Firefox to change the default from there, so I assume it's something that has to be done through Leopard.
    Any suggestions?

First, I notice you are running Tiger - this is the Leopard forum - things may be different with Leopard.
When I click on a .pdf file with FF, I get a popup window asking to select a reader.
Be sure you check the box, "Do this Automatically ....." in the popup window.
Once you do this, in the FF preferences under Programs, you will now find Adobe listed as the default program for opening Portable Document Format files.
I just did exactly this and it works correctly. PDF files now open with Adobe, not Preview, all the time.

Few more things I noticed today. Maybe that will be a clue.
    Situation1:
When the html document is saved on desktop (no site defined) it will preview OK in FF. Although when I try to preview using keyboard shortcut and FF is not running, FF tries to start in a Safe Mode. Triggering preview from the menu or icon on a DW toolbar is fine.
    Situation 2:
When HTML document is saved inside a site that doesn't have defined testing server, it will preview OK in FF, but same story with the shortcut - safe mode - if the browser was turned off.
    Situation 3:
The moment you specify a testing server, the preview options are not working. I use MAMP Pro, but I was also trying on localhost - no luck.

  • Preview mismatch?

The screenshot below illustrates a annoying problem I'm having with previews in Camera Raw /Bridge CS5 fully updated. This is intermittent while adjusting 200+ images. Purging CR cache doesn't do much to fix the situation. And yes this is a calibrated monitor. Suggestions?

Don't know the file size of the example but usually the thumbnails and previews match after being cached. So maybe this are the same files from your previous post?
But having 200 + in the filmstrip is not the best workflow to my opinion. It takes a lot of time to cache and generate thumbs.
If you have some general settings (and since you mention 200 + I think so) you better handle first one file of the bunch and hit done when ready. Then in Bridge use right mouse click menu on thumb and choose: develop settings / copy settings.
Then select all the other files you want those setting on and choose same menu but now 'paste settings' and let cache do its work.
If you need fine tuning choose 10 or 20 max and this will in the end prove to be a faster workflow

  • Report Preview Mismatching with Database Value .

    Dear Friends ,
I am designing very simple report with 7 columns . To check with report i just hard coded parameter value in command .  when i am executing same query in back end every thing is fine and i am getting correct result , but when i run from report ,value is mismatching . attached screen shot for your reference ,

    Hi Sriram,
Have you tried using the same query (with hard coded values) in a Command Object in CR?
Do you see same values as the database?
Also, which value has been hard-coded in place of the prompt?

  • After downloading FireFox upgrade preview to read pdf's no longer works

I downloaded the most recent upgrade to Fire Fox and when i did I was no longer able to open pdf files. The application that is installed on my MAC is Preview and now it doesn't work in Fire Fox but does in Safari. I would prefer to use Fire Fox and would like to resolve this issue.

    HI,
Locate to a .pdf file you already have. Right or control click that file, then click Get Info from the pop up menu.
Where you see: Open with; click that pop up menu. If Safari isn't listed, click "Other" then navaigate to the Safari application in the Finder and click Add. The in the Get Info window click, "Change All". That wasy all PDF's will open in Safari for you.

  • Standard preview mismatch in catalog

In the Adobe_variables_table in my LR5 catalog, the AgPreviewBuilder_standard size is 1440, as set in my prefs. But further down in the table, the SynchroniseFolder_StandardPreviewSize is 1680 (the default value?). Does this make sense to anyone?

    Hi Bob,
may be SynchroniseFolder_StandardPreviewSize is for flickr, fb, revel, etc. export the default?

  • Preview in Firefox opens multiple tabs

Dreamweaver CS3 and Firefox 2 preview problem
    Start situation:
No browsers open, then previewing page from DW and Firefox
starts and shows the page correctly. Great.
But then when Firefox is already running, previewing causes
three new tabs to be opened in Firefox, all showing the same page.
    Not so nice.
Any idea what causes this problem and how to correct it?
I've already tried removing browsers from the preview in
    browser list, disabled all extensions.
However, when I change the settings in Firefox so that new
pages open in a new window instead of a tab, only one new window
    opens up (not three).
I think it is a problem with DW CS3 and FF together, not a
pure Firefox problem as previewing pages from other page editing
tools (Notepad++, Expression Web, ) no not cause multiple
    tabs.

You're probably trying to open a pop up window... but you did
    it the
wrong way and that's why multiply windows opens.

  • How can I get Firefox to display 'preview in browser' Dreamweaver Web-page files?

I chose Firefox as the primary browser for Adobe Dreamweaver's 'Preview in Browser' to display Web pages as I develop them. '''Firefox used to work just fine'''. Recently, however, when choosing Firefox to Preview in DW, FF merely opens to my home page. Once opened, FF will not accept/preview any files from Dreamweaver, regardless of how many times I choose to Preview. Safari and others - when selected as the preview browser - display them perfectly.
    PPC Mac, OS X 10.4.11, Firefox v. 3.6.21

Have you tried the update to Fast Dial, version 4.2.1 or later? It should override the built-in new tab page: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/fast-dial-5721/ ''(Note: I haven't tested it myself)''
If you are using a similar add-on that isn't the same "Fast Dial", which one is it?

  • Firefox preview loop of SHTML files

OK, got one I have not ever seen before and cannot find any solutions for. Suddenly, and with no changes to firefox or dreamweaver, when I create a .shtml file and try to preview it in firefox, I get an endless loop of tabs as though it is trying to open the file but just can't. None of the tabs actually open the file. It seems to be restricted only to firefox and shtml files. If I preview a html or htm file in firefox it is fine. If I open a shtml in explorer it is fine. I have also able to view shtml files that are already on the internet fine as well, so seems to be limited to the preview function. I have tried reinstalling firefox and that did nothing. This one has me completely lost. Any ideas would be of huge help. I am trying not to reinstall dreamweaver as I have about 50 sites in there and is a major pain to backup and reinstall it all. Thanks!!

    Hello,
In order to change the default reader for PDF files (to not open PDF files with Firefox's internal PDF reader), follow these steps:
#Go to ''Tools'' > ''Options'' (or ''Firefox'' > ''Options'').
#In the Options window, select the ''Applications'' tab.
#In the ''Search'' field, type ''PDF''. You should find ''Portable Document Format (PDF)''.
#On the right handside you should find an ''Action'' column. Use that to select your favorite PDF reader. In order to view PDF files in Firefox, choose ''Preview in Firefox''.
Did this fix your problems? Please report back to us!
    Thank you.
