Firefox is acting funny since updating to 9.0.1

I am having multiple problems since updating to version 9.0.1:
1. On the adam4adam.com chat site, when I try to filter my search results, Firefox crashes about 50% of the time.
2. I tried to pay a bill on westerndental.com. I entered the account information correctly but got an error message that the account did not exist. When I entered the exact same information on westerndental.com using Internet Explorer, I was able to pay the bill successfully.
3. On yahoo.com, I am unable to send instant messages from within the Mail app. I am able to send messages successfully using Internet Explorer.
None of these problems occurred in Firefox before the update.

Avoid getting the cookies in the first place, after clearing the cookie files as mentioned above. Go to Ghostery.com and down load their program. I enable all items except "Widgets", which I need to add "Gadgets" to my Google Home Page;
which is http://www.google.com/ig?hl=en.
Ghostery blocks 755 out of 767 items that include tracking cookies etc.
They allow a White page for sites which you don't want to block, like your bank's URL etc.

  • Prior to updating to Firefox 8, Firefox worked fine. Since updating cannot open Firefox. Any suggestions?

Had Firefox on my computer and had updated periodically. Today it started to update to firefox 8.0 when I opened it and I allowed it to run. Afterwards could not open Firefox. Deleted and reinstalled Firefox 8 and still cannot open it.

You may have to remove exceptions or certificates that you've installed before.
*Firefox > Preferences > Advanced : Encryption: Certificates - View Certificates (Servers and Authorities)
Rename the file cert8.db to cert8.db.old in the Firefox Profile Folder to remove all intermediate certificates that Firefox has stored by visiting secure websites.
Rename or delete the file cert_override.txt (cert_override.txt.old) in the Firefox Profile Folder to remove all permanent exceptions that you have saved.
If that helped to solve the problem then you can remove the renamed files.

For now, I have installed Firefox in a new location with a new profile, and it seems to work for now.
Would like to know, what causes these crashes so they can be fixed.

The most recent crash is reported as a different browser (Firefox 3.0.11) so I'm going to ignore that one.
The next two are Firefox 30 crashes that have the same signature, reported over 65,000 times in the past week.
When I review user comments in these crashes, the most common activity mentioned is interacting with a Norton add-on. Usually Norton is good about updating, but you may need to use LiveUpdate to get the latest version.
When I review the bugs linked to your reports, they generally reference graphics issues, perhaps an out-of-memory error relating to your graphics card driver. Currently it appears that you have disabled hardware acceleration, which is the standard workaround for graphics-related crashes, so I don't think there is an action item from these reports, or a clear explanation of the problem.

  • Why does firefox stop script ever since update to 3.6.8

i go to some web sites IE jets.com and stop script sign comes up and firefox locks up, must shut down CP improperly

Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of your add-ons is causing your problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes).<br />
See [[Troubleshooting extensions and themes]] and [[Troubleshooting plugins]]<br />
    <br />
If it does work in Safe-mode then disable all your extensions and then try to find which is causing it by enabling one at a time until the problem reappears.<br />
You can use "Disable all add-ons" on the [[Safe mode]] start window to disable all extensions.<br />
You have to close and restart Firefox after each change via "File > Exit" (Mac: "Firefox > Quit"; Linux: "File > Quit")

  • Since updating to 3.6.11 I can't open multiple browser windows. Windows 7 Pro

Using Win 7 Pro I've always been able to open multiple Firefox browser windows. Since updating to Firefox 3.6.11 I can only open one window at a time. I can still have multiple windows open using Internet Explorer or Chrome.

Do you have that problem when running in the Firefox SafeMode? <br />

  • Since updating to Firefox 4.0.1 I have a problem with the website shortcuts I have on on desktop.

Since updating to Firefox 4.0.1 I have a problem with the website shortcuts I have on on desktop. I have a few of these shortcut to website I use a lot. When I click on the short I get the message "windows cannot find [then the web address] make sure you typed the name correctly, then try again. To search for a file, click the Start button, and then click Search." I tried deleting the shortcut and setting it up again but still get the message.

Try to redo the default browser and make another browser like IE the default browser and then let Firefox do it again.

    Hi erastyle,
Actually the Licensing information for the package is missing hence it is not launching any applications. You need to Reserialize the products using APTEE which you can find it on the Machine where you have created the package. If you dont have the access to that Machine then please download and install Creative Cloud Packager and it will download APTEE in the below mentioned location.
    Windows:
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe\OOBE\PDApp\CCP\utilities
Once downloaded please follow this KB article to use the Tool.

  • Slow, not responding, and not compatible with java etc since updating to 6.0.2. Love Firefox normally but am not happy.

Since updating to Firefox 6.0.2 i have not been happy with the way it is running. It is incredibly slow, keeps telling me its 'not responding' and looking at my add-ons, seems incompatible with the java console, with skype click to call, etc. I also seem unable to look at complex 3d graphics online, which used to work fine. Now they end up crashing the system.
This is a big problem for me, and i have noticed (on your other forums on this website) that others are having similar problems.
Is there any thing i can do before this problem is eventually fixed by firefox?

i tried. like i said, only when i disable all i can watch youtube. i have not checked settings of extensions but i am not an it specialist. i probably would not know what to look for.

Ever since updating to latest version of Firefox it has been painfully slow on my Mac running OS 10.5.8.
Websites just hang, and never get to where they are supposed to go. The status loop on tabs just spins and spins but never loads the site. Go to the same site on Safari and there in a second. It is like dial up slow. Have tried all the troubleshooting tips(reset, delete/re-create profiles, uninstall/reinstall, updated flash) nothing works.
Firefox had been working fine until latest update. What gives?

Since updating last time Firefox will not open new tabs unless I right click on a link. It won't open them via file or the tab at the top of the brwoser or usinf ctrl + t. Anyone know how to fix this?

I can press ctrl for a new tab but otherwise a new tab does not open. I actually need help regarding this new Synch which apparently will be in Firefox automatically in an upcoming version so I am asking how that will synch with people who use LastPass-of course because I use this very successfully and really am not eager to change the set up that I have in place at this time.
I have read through endless FAQ trying to find anyone else who has this question or concern but have found nothing. Can you please tell me how that service will get along with LastPass which does basically the same thing as Synch-it is probably spelled wrong as it looks wrong to me but if I click back to where this issue began, I will lose all of this question so please respond for the upcoming service synch.
