Firefox is awfully slow with YouTube?

For the past four days Firefox is awfully slow with YouTube. Video buffering isn't affected, however every page takes twice as much to load than it did before. I just upgraded to Firefox 14 but it didn't solve the problem.
I have the latest flash version and use Windows XP. YouTube runs just fine on Chrome, but lags with Firefox. I really don't feel like switching over to Chrome. Any suggestions?
I cleaned my registry a few days /before/ this started happening. Could it be relevant? The lagging didn't start right after I did that.
I'm desperate. ;o;

Truth is I had Flash 10.1 when the problem occured because by computer doesn't seem to want to co-operate with any other. In the middle of watching a video it would freeze out with any recent version and I would have to restart. So yeah, when the lag kicked in, I thought to upgrade to the latest one but that didn't fix anything. So now I'm back to Flash 10.1

  • Recent Firefox Update not Working with YouTube?

About a few days ago, I was going on YouTube to upload a video. For some reason, it gave me a message that says "Invalid Request. Authentication Expired".
Not only that, if I do other things such as liking/disliking a video, or adding a video to my Favorites or another playlist, it says that the feature isn't available.
I've also had a problem trying to reply to other comments in videos. Anytime that I type out my comment and hit the post button, it says something along the lines of "Error, Try again"
Now when it comes to doing other things such as simply watching and searching for videos, I have no problems whatsoever.
I figured it might have something to do with the most recent Firefox update, because I tried using YouTube with other browsers, and it works perfectly fine, and I wasn't having any problems with YouTube before the update.
Any idea if the update might have affected something that's causing all of these issues?

Clear the cache and the cookies from websites that cause problems.
    "Clear the Cache":
*Firefox/Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Cached Web Content: "Clear Now"
"Remove Cookies" from sites causing problems:
    *Firefox/Tools > Options > Privacy > Cookies: "Show Cookies"
If clearing cookies doesn't work then it is possible that the <i>cookies.sqlite</i> file that stores the cookies is corrupted.
Rename (or delete) <b>cookies.sqlite</b> (cookies.sqlite.old) and delete other present cookie files like <b>cookies.sqlite-journal</b> in the Firefox profile folder in case the file cookies.sqlite got corrupted.*http://kb.mozillazine.org/Cookies

  • Firefox becomes very slow with Yahoo All-New Mail

Problems with the Yahoo! All-New Mail version: Everything was working fine, but since the last two Firefox updates I began noticing that Yahoo was consuming a lot of CPU (it varies from 35% to 40% and is on the top list of programs CPU consumption) and the experience of navigation becomes not so pleasant - slowness. If I quit Firefox and reopen it, becomes faster, but after about 30 min slowness / CPU high consumption start again. Then I had to come back to Yahoo Mail Classic version and everything works fine and less CPU consumed. Is it only me experiencing this? Is it a Yahoo Mail issue? Is there a solution? (Macbook Pro early 2011/ Mac OS X 10.7.4 / Firefox 12.0) Thanks!

Try to start Firefox in [[Safe mode|Safe mode]]. This mode disables all extensions, user customizations, hardware acceleration, etc. temporarily for diagnostic and troubleshooting. If Firefox works fine in Safe Mode, then this is likely an add-on issue. Restart Firefox in normal mode, then type "About:addons" (without the quotes) in the address bar. Disable your extensions one by one, restarting Firefox between each one, until you find the trouble maker.

  • Firefox Developer Version slow with Debugger

Hello! I have moved over from Chrome and have been using the Firefox Developer Version (currently version 39.0a2 (2015-04-10)).
I'm having an issue where I work on a site with a LOT of javascript. When I load the page and want to debug that javascript......Firefox developer version is soooo slow. It takes a very long time for it to pull in all the javascript. I don't think I saw this behavior BEFORE I went to the Debugging tab.
Is there anyway to disable the Debugger tab? It seems to be processing all of the JS files (hundreds) and it takes a long time. In contrast, Chrome loads VERY quickly.
    Thanks.

    HI demichej,
This version is still being developed. Please check out the steps to file an issue about in in bugzilla.mozilla.org.

  • I am having diffuculty on Firefox 13.0.1 with Youtube videos (don't play), google maps (streetview doesn't show) and photobucket (doesn't upload).

When I try to play a video on Youtube I get the following message: "An error occured. Please try again later."
When I activate street view on Google maps, I get a blank screen.
When I try to download on Photobucket the 'My computer' tab for choosing files is blank

Update: I'm not sure what happened to get my installation in such a state, but I was able to fix it. Here's how:
Clicked on "Firefox"->"Help"->"Restart with Add-ons Disabled". A message came up and I clicked "Restart". When Firefox reopened, a message came up with the option to "Reset". I chose to reset and everything came back normally. Not sure why this happened but all's well that ends well.

  • Firefox is not working with youtube.

For whatever reason, youtube will no longer work in my firefox browser anymore. Every time I try to play a video I get a message saying "An error has occurred. Please try again later." I have tried running firefox in safe mode, but that didn't help. I believe it stopped working after I installed the newest version of Java. So I even tried uninstalling it, but that did not work either. I have the newest version of adobe flash and firefox, so I have no idea what is causing this problem.

I have this problem too. Also, any site that uses flashplayer no longer works.
However, I can bypass both problems by running Firefox in "Run as Administrator" mode. You might want to give that a try.

  • Firefox is suddenly slow with APEX

    Application Express 4.0.2.00.06
    Linux
    Oracle 11g R1
Just yesterday APEX started running very slowly in Firefox 3.6.20. It runs better in IE but has basically become unresponsive in Firefox. Has anyone experience a similar problem? I have been using this product since HTMLDB 1.5 and have never seen this behaviour before. TIA.

Here are the errors I am getting. Some seem to be related to JQuery, other to an inability to find certain functions.

  • I have been having problems with YouTube functionality when using Firefox, some of them having begun with the latest Firefox update

After a fairly recent update, I began having the option to paste text disappear, I've had backspace cause the browser to go back to the previous page while in a text box, and other issues which are apparently a matter of Firefox not recognizing the fact that I am typing in a text box.
After the last update, suddenly YouTube video page URL links no longer translate into links containing the title of the video, and also things like the use of bookend asterisks in order to have text appear in bold typeface no longer work.

i have the same problem with the above..firefox is running too slow with the games in facebook..but it runs good when browsing my updates, msgs, photos...firefox is totally opposite of IE..IE is faster with the games and slow while browsing..i love to use mozila but when i do games it really pisses me off...hope you could help me..

  • I was having problems with Firefox browsing VERY SLOW, and since Mozilla doesn't have support for Mac users, there was no solution to this problem. I have switched to CHROME and WOW this browser if FAST!.

    Lovin' Chrome. Good bye Firefox!

  • Firefox becomes really slow then eventually unresponsive when loading a page with many hires images. Unsual high memory usage up to 2gigs just for firefox. Was never a problem with v3.6.

When loading a page with many hires images, Firefox becomes really slow and scrolling becomes jumpy then eventually becomes completely unresponsive. Unusual high memory usage of up to 2gigs just for firefox when loading these pages. This was never a problem with v3.6.

I encountered the same type of problem. Firefox running terribly slowly and slowing down my entire machine (Core i5 with 256GB SSD). Searching the forums, I found a couple of things about troubleshooting performance issues, one of which was to use '''hardware acceleration''', that is on by default. It was turned on on my PC, '''so I tried deactivating it, and it worked!'''
So doing the exact opposite as Mozilla support said solved the problem. It is really a pain now to work with Firefox. I'm using it because I have no choice, but I'd recommend IE and Chrome over Firefox... Whatever, the market will decide once Firefox has become to crappy...

  • After running Malwarebytes & it removing/quarantine threats, Firefox works & loads slow along with other programs. Videos are now really slow also.

I downloaded Malwarebytes to run a scan of my system. After it had detected some threats, It removed/quarantined all the threats it had found. I use Firefox & have been happy with it & have the latest version - 25.0.. I have since uninstalled it but my system loads very slow & all programs are affected including videos, etc.. The system was fine before this was done.

I have/had this exact problem -I just restored everything that Malwarebites "quarantined" (an option within the program), and it honestly seems better already. My wireless network connection was even restored and is working well again (after running Malwarebites the connection wouldn't automatically connect after sleeping as it did before).
My guess is, Malwarebites isn't so good at differentiating good from bad.
I've only been running the PC for about 20 minutes since restoring everything, but I've noticed improvements in everything (especially boot up). I'll update this if my results change, but as of now it seems to have fixed the problem.
*update -after restoring the quarantined items and removing the program from my PC everything seems to be running at it's original speed. Firefox, Photoshop, and Dreamweaver are all opening and running at near instant speeds (as they originally did).

  • Flash player not working in Firefox with YouTube

Help! Every since I updated to the latest version of Firefox I can no longer play any videos on YouTube - they hang and stall every few seconds and some never load at all. I have the latest version of Flash, have tried uninstalling it and reinstalling it, have clicked and unclicked the Global Settings options, have run Firefox in safe mode with extensions off and just Flash running and it still doesn't work. I am on a Mac running OS 10.4.11. What else can I do?

That's wierd, Adobe TV videos are much higher def than YouTube... so I have a pretty opposite behaviour at times at my end.
Could you try clicking something in the middle of the YouTube video progressbar, if the video jumps to that part and continues. Share results of that as well.
    Cheers
