Firefox is being mean to my design

My web design works beautifully in IE but giving me grief in Firefox.  On my website on the menu bar one of the tabs lettering is not viewing.  Example the tab should be reading "Residential" it is only viewing the "R".   What is up?

What is up?
My thoughts exactly.  Have you ever gone to a doctor and just said you don't feel well and the doctor just gives you the most blank dumb stare you have ever seen?  Well that's what experts here will be looking at your post like because you've said nothing about the symptoms nor have you posted anything for us to look at, examine and make an informed decision about.
Did you view the page in other browsers (Safari, Chrome, etc)?  Do the same issues persist?
Did you validate your HTML? http://validator.w3.org/
Did you validate your CSS? http://jigsaw.w3.org/css-validator/
What tab bar?

• PDF popup, in FireFox, without being prompted

Hello, I am using Windows XP Pro, SP3, fully patched and updated. My Adobe Reader is version 9.5.0. I am currently using FireFox 3.6.25, but this problem has been affecting my computer for the last year and a half, and happens with newer versions of FireFox, up to and including version 8. I downloaded a PDF file of an air compressor users manual and saved a copy to a folder on my desktop (where I store all of my PDF files).
Now, whenever my FireFox browser is up and running, this PDF file will pop up every three hours, or so. It will initially pop up about ten minutes after the browser is started, and then about three hours after I close the reader program. It, neither the file, nor Adobe Reader, asks for permission to run, the PDF file, just comes up fully formed and running in Reader.
I have search in my Reader preferences/options/setting and can’t find any setting, control, action, button or choice that allows me to stop this pop up behavior. I can move the file to another location on my “c” drive, move it to another hard drive altogether, or even rename it, all to no avail, the popup behavior remains.
Is this a Adobe “problem”, or setting, a FireFox problem (as it only happens when the FireFox browser is running), or something else I am not aware off? Thanks for any help, in advance!!

Hello Ankit, and thanks for help:
This behavior only happens with this one PDF, no others, and I have hundreds saved to the same folder.
Speak of the devil, as I was typing the first sentence of this email, it popped up. My FireFox browser is set to start when I boot my computer, and that happened about ten minutes ago.
I rarely use IE and never use any other browser. When I do use IE it is only for those websites that still don't function properly with FireFox, and I generally get there via a FireFox add-on that opens a version of IE within the FireFox browser. Also on rare occasions, I will open IE directly to view my daughters school grades, again because that website doesn't handle FireFox properly. In any case, whenever I use IE, I only keep that tab or browser running for a very short period of time, just long enough to capture my data needs, generally less than five minutes, then shut it down,........ But, I don't recall this PDF behavior ever happening with the IE usage.

If I understand your request, it means remotely accessing my computer's drives to observe the PDF's behavior, program settings and preferences, registery settings, etc. I am not comfortable doing that, as my computer has a large amount of proprietary business information and personal financial information. If there is information I can pass on to you manually, or if I can contact you when the behavior happens, that would be OK.
Thanks again for your help.

Despite my Javascript for Firefox 23 being "enabled" ( I checked re the "about:config" steps), some websites are still asking me to enable my Javascript to view content. Safari works without any problem. OS/X 10.8.4

These files are hidden to me because my OS/X is 10.8.4 and I cannot make them appear. This is way, way more trouble than it's worth. Thanks for your help. Firefox has lost me.

• How do I stop extra instances of Firefox program being opened by another page when it loads?

How do I stop extra instances of Firefox program being opened by another page when it loads?
When I log on to a favorite site it loads OK. The site has a number of pages. When I move to the second or third page, a second instance of Firefox automatically starts and loads an advertisement. I can block the site that tries to load the page, but I cannot stop the second instance of Firefox from loading up. So in the end I might have three or four instances of Firefox all going at once.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Do a malware check with a few malware scan programs.<br />
You need to use all programs because each detects different malware.<br />

• How can I STOP Firefox from being a glutton with my virtual memory?

How can I STOP Firefox from being a glutton with my virtual memory?

Yes. But, I see from the THOUSANDS of responses here concerning Firefox memory issues that other people have had no more success than I have at trying to STOP Firefox's memory gluttony. The fact that Firefox runs fine (like the good old days) for a while after re-booting and registry cleaning shows that something is going on beyond the trivial/ineffective suggestions offered in the referenced links.
Having to re-boot several times a day to get Firefox out of the molasses is such a pain, that it's no wonder people are going back to IE, or like me, reluctantly relying more and more on Google Chrome.

• Firefox keeps being unresponsive

Firefox keeps being unresponsive and I have to keep clicking on the main body of the window and wait for it to unfreeze

It's probably down to one or two plugins (add-ons/extensions).
Try starting firefox in safe mode and disable the plugins, etc.

• The bottom part of my firefox is being covered by my default Windows menu bar.

When it shows (i.e Done above the windows default menu bar) its being covered by the windows default menu bar.

Is the Firefox window too large or off to the bottom of the screen? Try resizing or repositioning the Firefox window. See Toolbar keeps resetting to restore the default window size/position and toolbar settings if you can't change the Firefox window or position, or if the changes to your Firefox window aren't saved when you next start Firefox.
If you need more help you should ask a new question in the support forum since this question was solved over a year ago and many Firefox support helpers don't look at solved questions. You can use this link as a starting point to ask a new question: https://support.mozilla.com/questions/new

• How do I reset the "Firefox is being updated by another instance" message?

I was attempting to update Nightly via the "About Nightly" window. I got a message about a failed upgrade and a link to download a fresh copy of Nightly, so I did. I closed Nightly and overwrote my existing copy with the fresh download and reopened.
Ever since then, the "About Nightly" window has a message "Nightly is being updated by another instance" and won't look for updates. Is there any way to reset whatever is tracking this to force my new Nightly instance to update again? I've tried restarting in Safe Mode and I don't use antivirus, so I'm pretty sure this has something to do with overwriting my copy of Nightly before it could mark its update attempt as finished.

You can always follow the Nightly threads in Firefox Builds at mozillaZine forums, a place where many Testers hang out. http://forums.mozillazine.org/viewforum.php?f=23

• Firefox is being slower than Internet Explorer since the update. Why?

I updated Firefox, which is my absolute favorite browser, and it is being extraordinarily slow. I can't get anything done as far as working goes on my computer. I am currently running Chrome. Although that browser is faster than my car, it has few options and is far less easy to navigate than Firefox. Can you help me to understand why Firefox is having these issues since the update? Thanks.

Hello,
The Reset Firefox feature can fix many issues by restoring Firefox to its factory default state while saving your essential information such as bookmarks and history.
Note: This will cause you to lose any Extensions, Open websites, and some Preferences.
To Reset Firefox do the following:
#Go to Firefox > Help > Troubleshooting Information.
#Click the "Reset Firefox" button.
#Firefox will close and reset. After Firefox is done, it will show a window with the information that is imported. Click Finish.
#Firefox will open with all factory defaults applied.
Further information can be found in the Reset Firefox – easily fix most problems article.
Did this fix your problems? Please report back to us!
Thank you.

• What does "Firefox not Responding" mean

Lately I am getting the message on the top of my screen that says, "FIREFOX NOT RESPONDING." Also, there is the little circle icon that goes around and whatever I click on does not open up. I shut off my computer manually, and when I started it up again the messages always say: Do you want to start in Safe Mode.....so that's what I did. Now, the color in my task bar (bottom) changed from blue to black. How can I make it blue again. I have no idea what Safe Mode means but I thought I would try it; I won't do it again!

• An error causes firefox not being able to open last session

Off some reason Firefox wont restore last session. The opportunity in Firefox/Google startsite malfunctions of some reason not giving the possibility to restart last session.

To add to what madperson said, see the Session Restore article under Troubleshooting and make sure that your Firefox privacy settings are correct, so that your browsing history is saved. <del>If that's not the problem:</del>
<del>You said "an error". Could you be more specific? Do you see the "Restore previous session" button on the default Firefox home page (shown here), which means you had tabs and windows open when you last closed Firefox, but clicking it doesn't work? A possible cause of that is a file in your Firefox profile folder is corrupt (bug 682944). You can open the Firefox profile folder from the "Help -> Troubleshooting Information" page, then close Firefox and delete this file, to see if it helps: chromeappstore.sqlite</del>
Never mind. I see you solved the problem.

• How can i uninstall firefox without being able to get into it in the first place?

I have Windows Vista. A few weeks back, i had installed Firefox 3.5.17, and had it running without any problems. When Firefox 4.0 came out, i installed that in the place of the older version. It was also running properly, but i couldn't use the Norton Toolbar for it because they were not compatable together. So i switched it back to 3.5.17, but when i tried to open it, it wouldn't. when i tried to uninstall it, it told me to 'Please wait until the current program is finished uninstalling or being changed.' Please help!!!

• Firefox.exe being flagged as a screen logger by Zemana

Sometimes, Zemana antilogger flags firefox.exe has trying to capture my screen. I don't have any addons with this function. Have run full antivirus and spyware scan, all clear. I read another poster had his firewall alerting him to this same problem, and was told by the vendor that it was probably being flagged by extensions/addons when checking for updates. Could this be my problem?
Thanks
