FIREFOX IS BLOCKING MY WEBROOT PROGRAM'S PASSWORD MEMORY

Yesterday Firefox did some kind of update. It had a window saying Webroot something was incompatible. Now my password file with 75 entries is inaccessible. How reverse that move?

  • Firefox 31 blocked by webroot b/c it downloads irfanviewerset and freefileviewersetup, unasked, on startup. Why? &

Each time I start firefox 31.0 on Win 7 it tries to download 2 setup.exe programs, unsuccessfully. When I next restart ffx it won't connect to the internet (all other programs/browsers will, however). I found that my anti-virus, Webroot,'s firewall is blocking it. I can turn that firewall off, restart ffx, and it will work again, even after I turn webroot's firewall back on. But once I restart ffx, same deal, can't connect. And I see the telescoping download arrow that it tried to download something--in the download list the two programs are there again: irfanviewersetup-9957237.exe and freefileviewersetup.exe. Is no one else having this occur (do I have a unique bug)?
Why would firefox try to download these files in the background when I open it? (The homepage is set to https://www.google.com/

    Hello,
Certain Firefox problems can be solved by performing a ''Clean reinstall''. This means you remove Firefox program files and then reinstall Firefox. Please follow these steps:
'''Note:''' You might want to print these steps or view them in another browser.
#Download the latest Desktop version of Firefox from http://www.mozilla.org and save the setup file to your computer.
#After the download finishes, close all Firefox windows (click Exit from the Firefox or File menu).
#Delete the Firefox installation folder, which is located in one of these locations, by default:
    #*'''Windows:'''
    #**C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox
    #**C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox
#*'''Mac:''' Delete Firefox from the Applications folder.
#*'''Linux:''' If you installed Firefox with the distro-based package manager, you should use the same way to uninstall it - see [[Installing Firefox on Linux]]. If you downloaded and installed the binary package from the [http://www.mozilla.org/firefox#desktop Firefox download page], simply remove the folder ''firefox'' in your home directory.
#Now, go ahead and reinstall Firefox:
##Double-click the downloaded installation file and go through the steps of the installation wizard.
##Once the wizard is finished, choose to directly open Firefox after clicking the Finish button.
More information about reinstalling Firefox can be found [[Troubleshoot and diagnose Firefox problems#w_5-reinstall-firefox|here]].
<b>WARNING:</b>Do not use a third party uninstaller as part of this process. Doing so could permanently delete your [[Profiles|Firefox profile]] data, including but not limited to, extensions, cache, cookies, bookmarks, personal settings and saved passwords. <u>These cannot be easily recovered unless they have been backed up to an external device!</u> See [[Back up and restore information in Firefox profiles]]. <!-- Starting in Firefox 31, the Firefox uninstaller no longer lets you remove user profile data.Ref: Bug 432017 and https://support.mozilla.org/kb/uninstall-firefox-from-your-computer/discuss/5279 [Fx31] Windows uninstaller will no longer offer the option to remove personal data -->
Please report back to say if this helped you!

  • Why does Firefox always block any link I try to open going to a web page when I don't have pop up blocker on?

Why does Firefox always block any link I try to open going to a web page when I don't have pop up blocker on? First off they are not even pop ups....your crap blocks everything and don't save user names &/or passwords when you have it checked. Also in your tutorials about solving this issue says it has the word "OPTION" .......no, it never says option to allow you to bypass it and etc. Only thing is says is "ALLOW" . That would be nice , but the problem is it will not allow it from then on. It only allows it right then and then you have to refresh...after that to open again it blocks it again.....HOW STUPID?!!!!!
It always say that this is preventing this page from automatically redirecting to another page. THIS IS WHAT I AM TRYING TO DO...GO TO ANOTHER PAGE........I DON'T NEED YOUr BROWSERS PERMISSION TO DO THAT. THAT IS WHAT A *%#$&*(&*%$$%% BROWSER IS FOR TO GO TO OTHER PAGES......THEY ARE NOT POP UPS!!!!!
YOU STUPID BROWSER ACTUALLY BLOCKS EVERYTHING AND THAT SUX!!!
    HELP!!

Are you using "Clear history when Firefox closes"?
In case you are using "Clear history when Firefox closes":
    *do not clear the Cookies
*do not clear the Site Preferences
*Tools > Options > Privacy > Firefox will: "Use custom settings for history": [X] "Clear history when Firefox closes" > Settings
    *https://support.mozilla.org/kb/Clear+Recent+History
Note that clearing "Site Preferences" clears all exceptions for cookies, images, pop-up windows, software installation, and passwords.
Clearing cookies will remove all specified (selected) cookies including cookies with an allow exception that you want to keep.
Let all cookies expire when you close Firefox.
    *Firefox/Tools > Options > Privacy > Cookies: Keep until: I close Firefox
You can choose to keep third-party cookies from visited sites if necessary.
Create a cookie 'allow' exception for cookies that you want to keep.

  • Firefox keeps blocking my webpage from changing to a new page - I don't want it to do this. How to I stock the blocks?

When working in several different programs (Auctiva is one) I get a message that Firefox blocked my webpages attempt to direct me to a new page. Sometimes I can click allow, but sometimes the message is gone so fast i have No Option. In most cases this page switch is necessary for what I am doing to happen - in Auctivia my listing won't post to eBay for hours if it can't switch pages. How can I stop Firefox for blocking these page switches. It is happening more and more. I have adjusted everything I can think of in settings, but nothing helps.

I'm sorry I've never done that before - just tell me how to reach about:config!

  • Even if i do not open firefox i can be running another program and firefox repeatedly minimizes my other program and opens up search tabs. how do i get it to stop

i play an online game called perfect world. for some reason i can be in the middle of a game and firefox will minimize my game and open up tabs even if i am not doing anything with firefox. how can i fix this. it is really getting annoying

Try a clean reinstall and delete the Firefox program folder and desktop shortcut before (re)installing a fresh copy of the current Firefox release.
Download a fresh Firefox copy and save the file to the desktop.
    *Firefox 23.0: http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/all.html
Uninstall your current Firefox version, if possible, to cleanup the Windows registry and settings in security software.
*Do NOT remove personal data when you uninstall your current Firefox version, because all profile folders will be removed and you lose personal data like bookmarks and passwords from profiles of other Firefox versions.
Remove the Firefox program folder before installing that newly downloaded copy of the Firefox installer.
    *(32 bit Windows) "C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\"
    *(64 bit Windows) "C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox\"
*It is important to delete the Firefox program folder to remove all the files and make sure that there are no problems with files that were leftover after uninstalling.
Your bookmarks and other personal data are stored in the Firefox profile folder and won't be affected by an uninstall and (re)install, but make sure that "remove personal data" is NOT selected when you uninstall Firefox.

  • Firefox is blocking an update, but i don't know what its blocking - another thing - i tried feedback - told Firefox needed updating - about help says i have latest update - something wrong - how to fix

Every now and again - i get a notice saying "something is trying to trick Firefox in accepting an update" - that is it - does not tell me what it is - I then thought i'd use Feedback to contact you - however, it came back saying "to use feedback i needed the most recent update" I checked ABOUT FIREFOX and it says i am up to date - so maybe - Firefox is blocking its own update - what is going on - and how can i find out what is being "blocked"

If there are problems with updating then best is to download the full version and uninstall the currently installed version.
Download a fresh Firefox copy and save the file to the desktop.
    * Firefox 4.0.x: http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all.html
    * Uninstall your current Firefox version.
    * Do not remove personal data when you uninstall the current version.
Remove the Firefox program folder before installing that newly downloaded copy of the Firefox installer.
    * It is important to delete the Firefox program folder to remove all the files and make sure that there are no problems with files that were leftover after uninstalling.
Your bookmarks and other profile data are stored elsewhere in the [http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_folder_-_Firefox Firefox Profile Folder] and won't be affected by a reinstall, but make sure that you do not select to remove personal data if you uninstall Firefox.

  • When maximised, Firefox will not allow other programs/folders/files etc to display ...

When Firefox v7.0.1 is open and maximised; if I then open another program or folder or file etc, it remains hidden/covered by the Firefox window.
I'm not sure if you call this 'focus' or what but it doesn't happen all of the time ... but when it does, it's very annoying and inconvenient ! I'm not sure if this 'issue' is in any way connected with Firefox's blocking of the scroll window capture feature in Techsmith's 'Snagit' ... but either way, it's a real pain !
I'm using the default 'theme' with the semi transparnet header bar ... if that's relevant in any way ???

Thank you ... but yes, I know that already.
THe query really was regarding the bizarre behaviour of the browser and reasons why it was behaving like this ... not on how to work round it.

  • Why does firefox keep blocking websites that I have gone to in the past

Why does firefox keep blocking websites I have gone to in the past?

    From http://watchseries.lt/tips#htw
<pre><blockquote>Why videos do not work for me?
You need Flash Player or DivX Player. Both of these programs are used everywhere online; their size is small and will not harm your computer. You should download them from here:
    DivX: http://www.divx.com/en/software/download/start

  • How to stop firefox from blocking pop-ups on a website?

I have a personal business website that I use everyday. For some reason Firefox is blocking the pop-up content that I need for my business tools etc.
    Here is the website: arbonne.com
I need to use it now.

    An added note/reminder.
If you use ''Options > Privacy > [x] Clear history when Firefox closes > Settings'' to clear items for privacy reasons, '''''DO NOT''''' clear "Site Preferences". Clearing Site Preferences clears all exceptions for cookies, images, pop-up windows, software installation, and passwords.

For general advice see Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates.
The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down the page in case one of them applies.
Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there is backup and recovery advice elsewhere in the user tip.
If the advice above doesn't resolve things you could try this alternate version:
    iTunes 12.1.0.71 for Windows (64-bit - for older video cards) - itunes64setup.exe (2015-01-28)
which is a 64-bit installer for the 32-bit version of the core application, similar to previous 64-bit releases. Or roll back to the previous build:
    iTunes 12.0.1.26 for Windows (32-bit) - iTunesSetup.exe (2014-10-16)
    iTunes 12.0.1.26 for Windows (64-bit) - iTunes64Setup.exe (2014-10-16)

  • I receive the error: Unable to load block component C:\Program Files\Hyperception\VABINF\KeyRcv.dll

I have two Major issues with our Infinity Project computers,
We have one entire lab that is getting this error... "Unable to load
    block component C:\Program Files\Hyperception\VABINF\KeyRcv.dll.
Please verify that the component exists and any dependencies it may
have are satisfied."  It is also producing this error with
NumEntry.dll.  Both files exist.  I am not sure what
dependencies these files may have.  Ideas?
We have several systems that are giving the following error on one of
our labs... "You have exceeded the number of block functions allowed by
VAB for Infinity; contact Hyperception regarding upgrades."  From
what The professor here at UTA told me when I first took on this
project, this was a problem that we had on the previous boards and that
someone at Hyperception was able to help us resolve this problem.
Can you help out with these issues?  The first one I need an answer today if possible.
    Thanks,

We have seen this type of problem on some computers (we do not know why as of yet). The problem with missing blocks is very likely being caused by file permissions, and can be seen when non-administrators are using VAB software. To resolve this: 1. login as ADMINISTRATOR 2. run the command line script from a DOS prompt as shown below: cacls "C:\Program FIles\Hyperception\VABINF" /T /E /G Everyone:F It will scroll through the name of every file in the provided directory, and all subdirectories. This should reset every file, and allow the USER to access all files in VAB software. This should correct the problem. Regards,Steve

  • I have a Mac running OS 10.5.8. I downloaded Firefox 4 and not the program will not open at all. I am also unable to download the previous version that was running fine. I'm using Safari to contact you.

I have a Mac G5 running OS 10.5.8. I downloaded Firefox 4 and now the program will not open at all. I get an error message that reads --
"You cannot open the application 'Firefox" because it is not supported on this architecture."
I am also unable to find a link to download the previous version (3.6) that was running fine. (I'm using Safari to contact you.)

Same proble here, although the Firefox system requirements says it is OK to have PowerPC G3 G4 or G5 ( I have G5 2GHZ)
My solution; very simply use timemachine to restore the previous Frefox 3.x
    worked great in 3 mns

  • When trying to send a comment to a web site I get a message, Firefox has blocked this site, how can I turn this off?

when trying to send a comment to discussion sites I get an error message that says "Firefox has blocked this site" actions offered "allow"
or "X". When I enter "allow" it ignores the command and the message disappears. A lot of wasted thought and typing. How do I turn this feature off.

  • How do I defeat or whitelist the "Firefox has blocked this site from loading another web page" function?

Often when I click a link within a web page, a message bar appears at the top of the page saying "Firefox has blocked this site from loading another page" or something similar. This happens frequently on banking or credit card sites. This is particularly annoying because it seems to disturb the operation of the link when I have to click the "Allow" box on the message bar. I would prefer to create a whitelist for this feature so it would not interrupt my banking operations. Failing that, I would like to know how to toggle the feature on and off. Failing that, I would like to know how to defeat the function.

    See:
*Firefox > Options/Preferences > Advanced > General : Accessibility : [ ] "Warn me when web sites try to redirect or reload the page"
The setting in "Options > Advanced > General" is meant as an accessibility feature, as you can see by the label of that section, so that people with disabilities or people who use screen readers do not get confused and is not meant as a safety protection to stop redirecting.
