Firefox is crashing/stalling with Facebook games/chat - what's up?

When using WordTwist (a Zynga app) on Facebook as well as Facebook chat - Firefox is stalling and crashing - any suggestions? I use a Mac G4

Nope, still getting crazy random crashes. I just got a notification for Java's update. Going to install now and hope and pray that it fixes it.

  • Firefox gets Stuck while Playing Facebook Games and Working in Another Tab

Firefox gets stuck while playing facebook games (restaurant city) and side by side working in another tab or window of firefox. Switching between tabs takes time and on facebook scrolling doesn't remain smooth it gets stuck again and again while scrolling the page.
Also, in earlier versions it was a great feature that when once a game is loaded then when i open it second time it was loaded immediately without any complete loading but now every time you play the same game it will load completely which happens generally when we reinstall firefox so that our saved cookies gets destroyed.
ON THE OTHER HAND OPERA 10.6 LOADS FACEBOOK GAMES SMOOTHLY NO HANGS NO STUCKS NO FREEZES EVEN DOING OTHER WORK AND THE GAME ALSO LOADS IMMEDIATELY THE NEXT TIME WHEN IT IS OPENED.
    == This happened ==
    Every time Firefox opened
== The 3.6 versions came up

same things happen to me also the cache system is so slow it even download the flash player game after 3 or 4 days completely and hang is always the error when ever i use the fire fox also there is one more thing some time computer is not opening any site what ever u type mozilla is disconnected from IP what ever he issue is but if u close the firefox and start again it is working for a while after some time it may happen again time is not counted over this matter so i m sure this is the trouble from fire fox coz other browsers are working in the same time while mozila sucks

  • Anyone good with Facebook games? (Zynga)

I have a machine with Windows Vista, dual core AMD 2.1 ghz proccessor (no laughing), 2gb of RAM, factory on board video card, and a heap of a lot of junk. It runs facebook games OK, but has a problem with freezing a bit. My wife is happy enough with it but complains a bit about the lockups and lag, especially when in larger games such as Frontierville or Cityville.
Being the technically inclined person I am, I look over the system, decide to disable all the junk (and delete the most annoying of such completely), I made a trip to Best Buy, bought 1gb extra in RAM (being that a 32 bit system only supports 3.3gb). I noted the games at full capacity were eating up 1.92gb of RAM total, OS and all with everything else disabled. Still, I had a weak processor, but there is no way to really change that out - so I bought a new 400 watt power supply and a new video card with 512 built in. Upon examination, it runs World of Warcraft at medium settings and silky smooth. This bypassed the processor for a lot of functions.
Happy with my upgrades, I let my wife get back on to play her games.
    No improvement. At all.
I decided to uninstall Firefox and Chrome, reload latest versions, checked latest versions of all hardware, update what needed it, disable all startup items *period* via MSConfig, and even created a new User Profile in Vista just to make sure it wasn't something corrupt somewhere in there I hadn't thought of.
Lockie, lockie.. laggy.. almost unplayable. No improvement.
So I cleared the cache again for the thousands time.. and now, every time she switches from Frontierville to Cityville or vice versa, massive lockup occurs resulting in a forced crash of Firefox or Chrome (whichever browser we try it on).
    Any suggestions?

Its not your computer. Its the FB app thats slow. Wifes Zooworld does the same (along with her farmville and whatever else she plays on there). Doesnt matter which browser she uses (FF or IE8) or if I try it on linux, same thing, slow and laggy.

  • Firefox doesn't load some facebook games

I am using Firefox 20. I can play Facebook games like Angry birds. Flash player is not the problem because YouTube works fine. games like crazy taxi, cube, backgammon not loading, not even the page - full blank.
I tried with other browsers, It works.

So no response from Mozilla Firefox even though i contacted support Cheers!! Maybe I should go back to Chrome since you don't really seem to care!

  • Updated Firefox today-can't get Facebook games now!

Was asked to update Firefox today. After I update I was informed that it was was not compatible with Java and something else. I didnt press finish as I use Java. Now cant seem to get Facebook games. It suggests it could be Firefox problem.

Make sure that the Location Bar is not set to "Nothing":
    * Firefox/Tools > Options > Privacy > Location Bar: When using the location bar, suggest: History, Bookmarks, History and Bookmarks
    * https://support.mozilla.com/kb/Location+bar+autocomplete
Another possible cause is a problem with the file places.sqlite that stores the bookmarks and the history.

  • The domain by domain automatic save for the zoom feature in Firefox has stopped working with Facebook, is there anything I can do about this?

I normaly use the zoom feature with Facebook in order to more easily be able to read and see. I like how the entire page zooms in. Recently, however, the zoom started reseting every time i click myself from any page on Facebook to any other. The zoom simply won't save at all, it just resets to the default value.

    Install this add-on: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/default-fullzoom-level/<br><br>
'''N.B.''' Several of your plugins are out of date which exposes your machine to attack. Please visit the [http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/plugincheck/ Plugins Check] page and update where necessary. <br>
Also, update Firefox to v3.6.19 by clicking Help | Check For Updates.

  • Having trouble with facebook games " zuma blitz" lags, very slow.

I am having problems with a Facebook game, "Zuma Blitz", the game loads faster, but lags or plays very slow. it freezes with every shot made.. impossible to play. It may be happening with others, but I play this game every day to pass time.

This is because of the plugin-container.exe.
if you switch dom.ipc.plugins.enabled to false in about:config
plugin-container and the problem will dissapear

  • Video chat using face time with facebook video chat

I have windows 7 64 bit and ipad 2 and a mini ipad.  I have cousin in Italy who uses Facebook to video chat using her web camera on her desktop/laptop.  I would like to know if I would be able to chat with her via video if I am using Facetime on my ipad 2/mini ipad and she is using Facebook on her desktop/laptop.
Would that be possible if so, what are the steps. thanks.

FaceTime will only connect to another Apple devcie (iOS or OS  X) using an address registered via Apple ID.
You might consider Skype. I don't know if it would connect to a FaceBook video chat, but she should be able to download and use it as well.

I have updated my flashplayer to the newest version, 11.5.502.110 and am using IE9 64-bit with Windows 7 64-bit. I have tried reverting to older versions, uninstalling and reinstalling, clearing all history, caches, etc, made sure active x was not marked and everything else that your forums say to do and I can get the facebook games to work for a little while and then they quit. I play farmville, petville, cityville, and the ville and have the same issue with all of them. This has been going on now for three days and I am getting extremely frustrated. Help!

  • I have Mac OS X 10.5.8 yet it can't support Firefox 4, in contradiction with your requirements. What's up?

It seems to install, but it "can't be supported". Plus when I first entered Mozilla's website, it stated that firefox 4 is incompatible with my operating system. Yet it lists ver 10.5 as a system requirement.

    You need an Intel Mac.
*Firefox 4 and later require at least OS X 10.5 and an Intel Mac.
    * http://www.mozilla.com/firefox/5.0/system-requirements/
For an unofficial Firefox 4 compatible version (TenFourFox) that runs on PowerPC Macs with OS X 10.4.11 or OS X 10.5.8 you can look at:

Firefox 3.6.x (Mac OS X 10.4 and later) can be found here:

  • Firefox is unable to establish a complete connection with Facebook game apps while using the tethering method between PC and Android

Although there is no problem loading the page, there seems to be a problem with the save feature. I can go in the game and perform my tasks but when I exit and return it is as if I was never there. In the bottom left hand corner of my monitor I notice that the site is continually trying to connect, verify, read profile, transfer assets, connect, verify...it is like a continuous loop. Is there a setting I need to adjust to allow access?

  • Firefox 18 crashes upon opening Facebook every time

I just updated to 18.0 yesterday. Since then, Facebook will crash FF upon login without fail. I can get to the main page (where I'd log in) but as soon as my home page starts to load, Firefox is unresponsive. I haven't noticed any issue with any other websites.
Flash and Java are all up to date, and I've checked my plug ins. I didn't have any issues with 17.xx, whatever was before 18 on the Release Channel. Any possible solutions/ troubleshooting I may have missed?
    I'm running OSX 10.7.5, FF 18.0.

No such luck :(. Cleared everything (cookies, cache, etc) from Firefox and completely exited. Opened up Chrome and was able to get into Facebook. Turned off chat and logged out, but FF still crashes after I try to log in.

  • Flash player crashes while playing facebook games.

i installed adobe flash player debug and now i cant go full screen in farmville 2 on facebook.  i cant go to an older version cause my hp solution center requires the lastest version of flash.  any ideas on how i can fix this problem?

Thanks.  Can you please provide us with a copy of your systems dxdiag report (see the steps listed here: http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/video-playback-issues.html#main_For_Windows_users), the output from the page "about:support" in Firefox, details on your virus scanner used, and some specific steps to reproduce the crash?
If you can give us a few recent entries in on the page "about:crashes" that might also be helpful.
    Thanks,
    Chris

  • Firefox constantly crashes even with almost all extentions disabled.

For months now Firefox has been crashing regularly. This seems to happen most when I am on pages like Google Images or Google Maps. Each time this happens I get the screen to restart Firefox and submit a crash report. After that process the "this is embarrassing" screen comes up but the tabs listed are old, sometimes by several days. I have disabled nearly every extension / plug-in. I am tired of having to babysit this program. It is a browser and I am just trying to browse the internet. I am not a user with a ton of extensions or other add-ins to Firefox. I use it almost "out of the box". I have had to reset Firefox in the past and I have had times where I have lost all of my open tabs. I am just about to the point of dumping Firefox for a browser which actually works. Firefox has become a very frustrating program to use. It is a browser. The user should not have to bend over backwards to keep it working.
I use Windows Vista Ultimate. I am submitting this from a different computer since Firefox just opens for a minute then crashes over and over and over again.

We need to see your crash reports from your other computer where Firefox is having the issue.
I don't know what OS the other computer is running but I'll put instructions for both Mac and Windows.
    <b>Windows</b>
Press the following shortcut to get a Run window: [Windows] + [R]. This should bring up a window that contains a text field.
#In that text field, enter %APPDATA% and press Enter. An explorer window should open.
#From that explorer window, double-click on the ''Mozilla'' folder, then double-click on ''Firefox'' and then on ''Crash reports''. Double-click on ''submitted''.
#Now, you should see a list of files that contain reports. Go to ''View'' > ''Arrange Icons by'' > ''Modified'' to get the most recent files at the top of the window.
#Open the most recent 5 files with a text editor and copy the IDs.
#Paste each ID with '''bp-''' into the reply window on the forums.
    <b>Mac</b>
#'''(OS X 10.6 or previous)''' Click the '''Finder''' icon in the dock. Your home folder will be selected. In the right side of the window, click the Library folder to open it. Then open the "Application Support" folder, the "Firefox" folder, the "Crash Reports" folder and finally the "submitted" folder.<br>'''(OS X 10.7 or above)''' Click the '''Finder''' icon in the dock. On the menu bar, click the '''Go''' menu, hold down the '''option''' or '''alt''' key and select '''Library'''. A window will open containing your Library folder. Then open the "Application Support" folder, the "Firefox" folder, the "Crash Reports" folder and finally the "submitted" folder.
#Open the 5 most recent files with a text editor and copy the IDs.
#Paste each ID with '''bp-''' into the reply window on the forums.
