Since Firefox went to 4.0 I'm having content on web pages displayed in some odd language. It's like something is set to something other than English. When I copy and paste the gibberish it paste in english

Sounds like a problem with fonts that do not work or are corrupted. Try to reinstall the font(s) that are used on those web pages.

After updating to Maverick some emails arrive with contents that do not belong to Sender and title.

Since updating to Mavericks I'm receiving some e-mails with contents that does not match the Sender and Title. Also receiving blank emails that DO have contents on my iPhone.

On the left side of my address bar it is showing that firefox has blocked content that is insecure, whenevr I'm using facebook or any other apps related to it.

Firefox is blocking content from almost all the websites.
It is even showing that for this page.
Every time I refresh the facebook page/ an app on the facebook this will appear.
Previously it used to crash firefox, then I upgraded it but since then it is just keeping on blocking if the gray/ geen colored padlock is active on the left side of the address bar.
So every time I get this error I have to refresh the page & again disable protection on the page.
If the website is verified then is firefox blocking almost everything.

I would recommend running the latest version, Firefox 25. Improvements are always being made based on user feedback.
Starting in Firefox 23, if a secure page includes certain types of insecure content, Firefox blocks the insecure content and a shield icon will appear in the address bar. See this article for more information about the new mixed content blocker: [[How does content that isn't secure affect my safety?]]
To temporarily allow the mixed content to be displayed:
*Click the '''shield icon''' [[Image:Mixed Content Shield]] in the address bar and choose '''Disable Protection on This Page''' from the dropdown menu.

You can also use this add-on instead, to toggle the preference:

You may want to do this only for the current session, then reset the preference back to "true" and check back with the site to see whether it's been fixed, since this is a global setting that exposes you on all sites, not just the one you care about.

What I said - in different words - was something like the OP might have answered his own question if he set up his messages to be stored on the server; that I only have POP but thought if it was an i... account it may have something to do with those settings and that he could move the messages to a different mailbox to make sure the messages would be available in Mail.
We'll see if this wording will make it; and, yes, I've read the ToU many times, and do not understand why this would not be permitted.
As it is now, the poster's question seems to have been answered with similar suggestions, so mine (which would have been the first reply) is no longer of value; but I'd still like to know which part I violated.
Edit - got the same message; deleted the server name and inserted ... and now it worked? At least one of the replies included the server name (three letters starting with an "a") and were successfully posted.

Display records that do not exist in another

Hi
I have two tables with one more than 2,00,000 and another 1,00,000 records. Both have one common filed ID. I wanan display allt eh records in table A that do not exist in table B. If i use 'not in', the system hangs. Is there anyother way to do this?

I would use SomeoneElse's and Centinul's idea before trying this, but ...
Outer join, filtering out rows where the join column isn't NULL on the outer side. If you can get this method to work it probably won't be efficient. I liked SomeoneElse's ideas best, but Centinul's idea of the MINUS is good too.

How can I install Firefox on a server that does not have an internet connection?

I run Firefox on a server to display graphs for a program. I was able to save, upload and install Firefox version 21 on my server because it used the executable installation program. Versions 22 and 23 use a stub program that goes to the internet and installs the program. My server does not have an internet connection, so the stub program does not work. Can I get a copy of the executable program that installs the program without having an internet connection?

How can I stop Firefox from blocking sites that do not supply ownership information?

I am trying to access a website and I get a 400 Bad Request message. Further "research" leads to the "This website does not supply ownership information" message. I have cleared history and cookies, reloaded the page and followed all the answers given in relevant support pages but nothing works. All other browsers allow me to see the page, but I do not want to keep switching to chrome or IE. There must be a security setting somewhere that must be switched off. I find it extremely annoying to be saddled with settings I have not asked for, have no information on have no way to control. This is what Microsoft does and why I use Mozilla.

It would help if you could provide the address for an example of such a site so others may check it. Give as an example something publicly accessible and not needing registration.

Have you tried clearing site cookies, reloading using Ctrl+F5 and maybe clearing the Firefox cache.

24" LCD has Super short mini-display cable that does not reach

I was setting up a 24" display (on an LCD arm) and i noticed the mini display cable is very, very short. It does not reach to the Mac Pro under the desk. I guess the 24" displays were made for laptops and did not expect that the cables would need to reach under a desk.
I couldn't find a Mini-display to Mini-display extender. Does anyone know of one?
Anyone considering two 24" monitors might want to review their own setup, to see if it works with the exceptionally short mini display video cables on the 24" display.

Charles, did you ever find a solution for this problem? I am ready to get a new Mac Pro and 24" display, but a 3 foot (1 meter?) cable is about two feet too short. I don't want to have the MP box sitting between my feet so it can be within 3' of the connector at the back of the display. I talked with someone at the on-line apple store today and he checked with an engineer and looked at the cable that comes with the display, and it was indeed only ~3' long. Since this type of monitor connection (the mini display port) is supposedly going to become the new "standard", I would hope that companies (e.g., Belkin, etc) will have high quality but longer cables available. I assume that the cable you have has the same mini display port plug on each end, and no adaptors are necessary?
If anyone has a solution to this short cable dilemma, please chime in!

Events folders display photo that is not the actual photo file

When I open an event file, the photos displayed are not the actual photos. For instance, in the event "Graduation," I now have random photos of my daugher's dance recital displayed, but when I open them, the photos are indeed of graduation. So, I can't see what photos are in an event until I open each photo file There is no rhyme or reason to what photos randomly pop up on the surface, and it doesn't happen with all the files within an event, just some. Please tell me someone else has had a similar problem as it is making me feel a bit batty!

Welcome to the Apple Discussions. Launch iPhoto with the Command+Option keys depressed and follow the instructions to rebuild the library. Select the first three options.

TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've written an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. How do I make Firefox Google Search text that is not a website when drag and dropped to a new tab or existing one

Exactly what the title says. Firefox did this before updating to 5 if I'm not mistaking. I want Firefox to Google search text when I drag it to the tabs bar (when an arrow pointing in between tabs appears). From there a new tab with the Google search should appear normally.

Title and description may be clear to you it is certainly not clear to me.
If I drag "title and description" which is not a url and try to create a new tab with it nothing will happen. I can drag that text to the the search bar and do a search.
If I grabbed a url which was text not shown as a link I can drag to the location bar, the new tab button, to a tab, between two tabs and that is all legitimate.

I cant see that you have lost what it sounds like you had because I don't think you would have generated a search in that manner. You can certainly drag something like a sentence to the search bar, so even if you were the only one that could do start a search by dragging text you can still drag it to the search bar.

Indesign cc 2014 displaying font that does not match font specified

Not on all fonts but with, in my case, when I specificy Meta or Futura, indesign displays times new roman - it says the font is available and that the font is installed but the displayed font does not match.
Have reinstalled font explorer pro plugin, restarted computer, indesign and font explorer to no avail. I have also switched off nearly all my fonts to check if there is a font clash - no fix………..

Do a search for adobfnt*.lst files and delete all of them that have two digits in place of the *. On Mac, also run a utility that can clean the font caches (FEX may be able to do this, but if not, Cocktail, among others can, or I think you can do it through Terminal).

Running JSP content that is NOT in a jsp file

 external medium, such as a database. As far as I can tell, I cant work
 out how to make JSPs run from anything other then a file relative to
 the context root (and fixed in the case of an ear).
 There must be a weblogic JSP engine class that I can extend/decorate
 to read the JSP from another location.
 Any ideas?

 You're probably better off looking in a different direction, by having your
 application use dynamically generated XML along with transformers.
