Firefox is frozen and will not close but I want to un-install it. HELP!

Firefox was open and an error message. Unresponsive script running, continue or stop script? All options were frozen I was not able and still not able to close firefox or any tabs from it, it has been frozen for two days. Is there an easy command line to just close the application?

You can close Firefox through the Terminal if it refuses to close through Firefox > Quit<br>
You can open the Terminal by searching for it on the Spotlight (top right corner, magifying glass)
Once open, you can run this command to kill the Firefox process:
*kill -9 $(ps -x | grep firefox)
I'm not a Mac user but that command works for me in Ubuntu.
To figure out what's causing the unresponsiveness, you can try to start Firefox in Safe Mode. To start Firefox in Safe Mode, just do the following:
*Clikc the Help menu on the menu bar and select Restart with Add-ons disabled.
*Click Start in Safe Mode to the dialogue box that comes up.
Safe Mode disables the following:
*Extensions
*Default theme is used
*userChrome.css and userContent.css files are ignored
*default toolbar is used
*Hardware acceleration is disabled.

Firefox incompletely open and will not close

Firefox will not open. Message says the program is damaged. But when I try to delete the Firefox aps the message tells me I cannot delete it because it is open. Nothing, however, appears on my screen. Firefox is both open and invisible. I cannot completely open it nor can I completely close it.

I get multiple instances of Firefox that open and will not close automatically. What is causing this?

It sounds like you have done some great troubleshooting for your iPod nano that is not responding. In this situation, if resetting it did not resolve, I would suggest restoring the iPod back to its factory settings and then sync your content back onto it from iTunes. When I restart firefox, then the download continues and all is well until I try to download something new (which I do quite often).

You have 24 hours to watch the movie. Kill the app by double tapping the home button and then holding down on any showing app then close the movie. Open it back up and resume it from where you left off. Should do the trick.

Address Book 'Frozen' and Will Not Open

My Address Book has completely frozen and will not open. Whenever I try to open the application, it just 'hangs' there, without actually opening. It was working fine only a few hours ago.
I've tried the following:
*Restarting my MacBook 3 times
*Restoring Address Book from Time Machine
*Deleting Address Book and reinstalling from the Leopard Installer disk
Nevertheless, Address Book will not open. Any suggestions?

I fixed the problem! I'm including the solution here, in case anyone else has the same problem.
It appears that my Smart Groups somehow caused my Address Book to freeze up. Unfortunately, you can't delete your Smart Groups while the application is open. Instead, try this:
1.) Close down Address Book
2.) Go to Applications/AppleScript/Script Editor
3.) Enter the following into Script Editor, replacing NAME OF SMART GROUP with the actual name:
tell application "Address Book"
delete group "NAME OF SMART GROUP"
end tell
4.) Click "Run."
5.) Reopen Address Book. This should fix the problem. At least it did for me.

I do not want to lose all of my files so I was wondering if it's possible to transfer my hardrive from a older Macbook pro to a new one if I were to purchase a new one? Also, the software is not updated as the computer hasn't worked for about 2 months.
Also, if it is possible to transfer the hardrive, would my iTunes music transfer as well? It is not saved in the cloud.

You computer is probably perfectly repairable, but if you want a new one anyway, it is perfectly possible to transfer the data from the faulty one.
But it would be a mistake to simply put the old HD in the new computer.
These are the steps:
Remove Hard drive from faulty computer. (very easy on Unibody MBPs, do-able but not so easy on older MBPs)
Put it in a cheap enclosure
Connect it the new computer
Boot up new computer.
If the new computer has never been run before the Setup Assistant will ask if you want to import your apps, data, settings etc from either another mac, another HD connected to the Mac or a Time Machine back up.
Obviously chose the second option (another HD connected to this Mac) and follow prompts.
If the new computer has already been run (so Setup Assistant doesn't run when you boot it up), you will need to use Migration Assistant...or run the installer again so that Setup Assistant runs again.

Did another window open with the pasted information? If so, try hitting "enter/return" key and "delete" key at the same time. That should get rid of the current action on the ical, the extra window should go bye-bye, and all should be fine with the world.
