Firefox is losing history. I can't go back a page
Once in a while, I click a link and notice that my back button has grayed out. I cannot go back a page. However, if I restart the browser and go to that same link, I can go back with no problem. Any idea what's going on?
Blah, must be a current glitch in the browser, glad to know it's not just me. I was afraid I had a BHO virus hiding out.

I want to be able to click on the back arrow button and scroll down to the page I want to go back to instead of having to hit the button 3 or 4 times to get to where I want to go.
You can revert back to Firefox 3.6 very easily how ever this is not recommend as support will eventually end for Firefox 3.6.
1. Uninstall Firefox 4.0 - '''Making sure that you do not remove your personal data unless you want to''' (Bookmarks, History, etc...)
2. Download Firefox 3.6 from here [http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all-older.html http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all-older.html] -

How can I go back several pages? The back button no longer displays multiple previous pages
Click-hold the unified Back / Forward button, or right-click it to get the Back / Forward history for that tab.
Or install this extension to get the old "drop-marker" button restored. <br />

In the latest two updates you can only go back one page at a time, previous versions allowed you to jump back several pages by choosing from the twistie - any suggestions?
The arrow to open the tab history of the Back and Forward buttons has been removed in Firefox 4 and later.
Use one of these methods to open the tab history list:
* Right click on the Back or Forward button
* Hold down the left mouse button on the enabled Back or Forward button until the list opens
You can look at this extension:

How do I return calendar to original view? All I can see is an hour by hour grid...can't get back to page where I can enter new appointments/events
Hi, at the bottom bar you should see a series of five buttons. Press the "Month" button if you desire to see the view of the month. As for creating a new calendar event simply press the "+" button in the upper right-hand corner to create a new appointment. *
* Please note that this is all within the app called "Calendar". -
Can I get back a pages document which I closed before saving?
can I get back a pages document which I closed before saving?
The answer is no, even if you're using OS X Lion. (You don't mention what version of OS X or Pages you use.)
OS X Lion and Pages 4.1 autosave documents, even unsaved documents. But if you close an unsaved document, click the Don't Save button, then this document no longer exists.
Earlier versions of OS X and Pages do not autosave documents. So closing an unsaved document effectively deletes it. -
I can use Explorer to get to to the webmail, but Firefox no longer works.
You can not merge accounts.
Apps are tied to the Apple ID used to download them, you can not transfer them. -
I miss the old back button, when I could go back multiple pages at a time.
You can also:
*right-click the Back/Forward button for the drop-down
*add this extension to add the drop-marker to the Back/Forward button: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/backforward-dropmarker/

At work (University of Texas at Arlington), I use a vendor-provided web-based application that requires Firefox 3.6. I've uninstalled Firefox and tried to install 3.6, but I got Firefox 6.0. When I start Firefox now, it sometimes automatically updates so that at this point I'm using 7.0. I've lost some functionality in the application, and the vendor's tech support is not able to help with some things such as printing pages, user preferences, etc.
You can get firefox 3.6.23 here
* http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/all-older.html
* see also [[installing a previous version of firefox]]
You may consider seeing if there is a firefox 3.6.23 portable version available if you are using it for one particular application only, you could then use firefox 7 for other browsing.

Deleted my firefox sync account and now can't get back in.
I recently upgraded to firefox 12 which appeared to break my firefox sync and would not allow me to re-pair my PC or any other devices to my account. In order to try fix the problem, I decided to delete my account. Having done this, I created a new sync account from firefox on my PC using the same email address as I had used in my previously deleted sync account.
This appeared to work alright and so I tried to pair my iPhone (using firefox home) to this new sync account. I used the passcode firefox home gave me and according to firefox on my PC, the sync was successful. However, a minute late, my iPhone came up with the error message "Login Failure: Unable to communicate with server (503)".
I then tried to log in to the firefox sync website with my email address, (https://account.services.mozilla.com/), and got the message "We were unable to log you in". I then clicked on the Forget your password link and entered my email address and got another error message "Unable to locate account. Please check username"!
It would appear that deleting my account and creating a new one with the same email address has stuff everything up? I don't want to have to use a different email address.Yes, I was thinking it could have just been a glitch in the system.

See question.
Hehe thanks for that, but I'm coming at this from the angle of not having a mouse to do that. I realise the obvious answer then is to plug one in, but I'm hoping there's another, keyboard-based way to do this.
In IE, the Flash player is considered a part of the page like any other, and pressing Tab a few times to cycle through all the Flash buttons will then return you to the rest of the page - is there no similar method in Firefox? -
I do online classes and the web portal for the school (UCF) does not support any firefox version higher than Firefox 3.6.
I get thrown out of the portal at various times and it is really making things difficult.
How do I go back to firefox 3.6 from firefox 4.01 in windows 7?Install Firefox Portable 3.6.20 to your hard drive for that website. <br />
http://portableapps.com/apps/internet/firefox_portable/localization#legacy36
It won't affect your current Firefox installation, which you should update to Firefox 6.0 - you are missing a bunch of important security fixes by being two versions behind the latest. 3.6.20 doe have all those fixes. -
On Firefox 3.6 the back and forward buttons also had a drop-down menu to enable me to jump back to one of the last, say, 10 pages I had viewed rather than only go back one at a time. Also, the reload button appears to be missing and I can't figure out how to bring these back. Otherwise, an awesome upgrade; thanks for all your hard work on this fantastic product.
You can right-click either Back or Forward button to open the tab history list.
