Firefox is running slow. Problem goes away in Safemode, reset did not work.

I keep getting Firefox is running slow message. Starting in Safemode seems to help. How do I determine what is causing the slow down.

Try to disable hardware acceleration in Firefox.
*Tools > Options > Advanced > General > Browsing: "Use hardware acceleration when available"

Pretty strange, but...
Safe Boot, (holding Shift key down at bootup), run Disk Utility in Applications>Utilities, then highlight your drive, click on Repair Permissions, does it happen in Safe Mode? Reboot when it completes.
(Safe boot may stay on the gray radian for a long time, let it go, it's trying to repair the Hard Drive.)

Anyone able to get LR6 Trial running? The "log out/log in" fix did not work for me.

I started the LR5 trial about a week ago. When LR6 came out, I tried to "upgrade" the trial. No luck. I continue to see a quick peek at the splash screen and then it seems to quit.

Installed latest Firefox update v25.0.1 on WinXP Pro 2002 SP2 and now it does not work. Reset does not work.

I just allowed FireFox to update itself. Now the version is at 25.0.1
Running on Windows XP Pro version 2002 SP2. FireFox has ALWAYS worked. NOW IT DOESNT. I can't even use it to connect to my own router login screen. IT IS DEAD.

The detailed instructions go into firewall config bs. HOW DO I remove Firefox from my program's list of trusted or recognized programs? What does this have to do with Firewalls? Why is this happening in the first place? Can I revert to an earlier version. My Firewall is OFF. These instructions suck.

Firefox in Windows. When I click on a link, Firefox will hang up with a rotating cursor. Problem goes away by moving mouse. This does not happen with IE.

Using Firefox 27.0, when I click on any link, a rotating cursor appears and continues to rotate. Moving the cursor will solve the problem. I have had this problem for several versions of Firefox, and I use auto updates.

Firefox is running slower every day on my mac (OS 10.6.3)

This has been my mac browser of choice for years, but it has gotten so slow and unresponsive I can't use it for my business anymore. Each of the last 3 updates have become more problematic. I'm constantly clearing the cache and rebooting, just to load pages.

Firefox won't load any websites but other browsers connect with no problem. error message: connection has timed out. deleting browsing history did not work.

I also tries removing firefox and reinstalling it - still did not work.
I checked - the firewall wasn't blocking firefox , so it's not that.
As far as I could find my antivirus (AVG) also was not causing the problem.

I think this problem may be caused by Yahoo's changes making it incompatible with the klatest version of FireFox.
This is suddenly affecting many many people who use Firefox and are members of Yahoo Groups. All these people say they themselves changed nothing and have not been locked out before when using Firefox. But suddenly, within the last week, they are.
What did Mozilla do or what did Yahoo do to cause this problem? I can say that I was not blocking cookies and after trying a number of things to fix it, I went to Yahoo's home page and navigated to my group from here.

Got exact same problem, was told to delete all old apple, quick time and bonjoir from computer then it would work. I use a programme called malware bytes and this takes everthing out of your computer right down to the roots but unfortunately I still have same problem

I just added two external firewire drives and they keep going to sleep. I did not have this problem when USB. I have turned off "put disks to sleep" in power preference.

It is not clear if these are the same drives, just connected
differently, or different drives?
One thing that may be happening is that the drives firmware
itself is putting it to sleep when inactive. Many drives on
the market have ths feature and it is turned on by default
and require a drive utility from the manufacturer to disable it.
