Firefox is unable to establish a complete connection with Facebook game apps while using the tethering method between PC and Android
Although there is no problem loading the page, there seems to be a problem with the save feature. I can go in the game and perform my tasks but when I exit and return it is as if I was never there. In the bottom left hand corner of my monitor I notice that the site is continually trying to connect, verify, read profile, transfer assets, connect, verify...it is like a continuous loop. Is there a setting I need to adjust to allow access?

I'm trying to set up email on my Firefox OS Flame (OS is Boot2Gecko 2.0.0.0-prerelease) and getting an error:

I'm on Dreamhost, the certificate belongs to `*.dreamhost.com` but I'm not even sure this is a certificate error, and if it is, how I'd go about fixing it. I found the Certificate Manger, but I don't know how to download the certificate and add it, and I don't know if this is even the problem.If this is a self-signed certificate or one where the CA is not trusted on FFOS, you will get this error.
There is currently no proper user interface for adding certificates. You could have a look at the method described at this page: http://www.pending.io/add-cacert-root-certificate-to-firefox-os/
There are also several bugs open regarding this problem, e.g. https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=874346. They have additional information that could help you to find out, if this is the problem you are seeing. -
My mac seems to have a virus thats connected with a few apps i use and i can't use them without my computer glitching out even though i've reinstalled the apps a few times. It's very frusterating especially when i'm doing someting when my computer randomly freezes or justs logs out for no reason when i'm using the apps.

Why won't Safari establish a secure connection with Facebook?
I've tried doing things with proxy. I've tried resetting Safari. I've tried doing things with cookies. I've tried disabling extensions. Next step is to try throwing my laptop out the window. This only started happening yesterday and there is no issues with other sites. It's not my internet connection. I can't get to Facebook by direct URL or through google or through links in my history. Macbook Pro bought in 2012 with Mountain Loin.
I have the same issue. Did everything that was recommended. Finally I just downloaded Google Chrome and use that for Facebook. No one seems to know why this happened

I have had no issue accessing Facebook in the past using my MacAir. Last night each time I would try and access the page, an error message would appear, saying that unable to establish a secure connection to the server "www.facebook.com"". The problem continues this morning. I have not updated any software or made any changes. One minute it was working, the next it was not. I do not have any parental controls; I have deleted the cookies; and I have reset safari. I can access all other websites that I have tried. I am using Version 6.0.4.
From your Safari menu bar click Safari > Preferences then select the Privacy tab.
Click: Remove All Website Data
Then delete the cache.
Now open a Finder window. From the Finder menu bar click Go > Go to Folder
Type or copy paste the following
~/Library/Caches/com.apple.Safari/Cache.db
Click Go then move the Cache.db file to the Trash.
Quit and relaunch Safari to test.
If nothing above helped, troubleshoot Safari extensions.
From the Safari menu bar click Safari > Preferences then select the Extensions tab. Turn that OFF, quit and relaunch Safari to test.
If that helped, turn one extension on then quit and relaunch Safari to test until you find the incompatible extension then click uninstall.
If it's not an extensions issue, restart your internet modem and router. Then quit and relaunch Safari and try Facebook. -

Could be a issue with yahoo, or your ISP, or your new machine.
I would try again later and see if the issue clears itself up. Make sure your computer is updated via Software Update, this should give you the updated root system certificates.
Also head over to Keycahin Access>Preferences then Certificates and set Best Attempt, Best Attempt and Require Both for the three settings. This will make sure your certificates are well checked before using.
If your using a older machine, like 10.5, then there are no longer any root certificate updates from Apple.
I have all the same settings as my old Mac which worked fine but the new computer is giving me this error.
So it works fine on the older machine and not the newer.
Well it could be that becaue you installed Office 2008 (same license) on another machine that there are security issues at play to prevent a cloned machine from intercepting emails. -
I have tried all the resets, the firmware is the latest version, the green light is on.

Unplug the WAN for the moment.. Just LAN port TC to the MBPr ethernet via thunderbolt.. (thunderbird was the kids puppet series.. Thunderbirds are go!!). Done - New real people Thunderbirds movie coming out soon I believe!!!

Make sure the ethernet now has an IP address.. 10.0.1.2 - Yep - done that - on ethernet anyway ...
You need to open the network preferences to find out. Yep - that's good ...

The final result is green light on TC, but error message when trying TM is "Backup disk is not available".
Then open the airport utility and you should be able to setup the TC.
Do as little setup as possible and then run the TM backup and see how it goes.
I have managed to get Thunderbird to LAN on TC to create a folder on TC and copy a file onto it.
So I guess the drive is working - it must be the software, settings or perhaps even the operator that isn't quite so clever ...

I have three wireless networks here - the BT Homehub3 wireless, the TC wireless, and also a D-link power socket ethernet thingy for an ethernet connection to the telly - DHP-W310AV which is also wireless link. All are effectively connected to the BT Homehub - is there a conflict there?
Have several times achieved in Airport Utility schematic with internet shown as green, RFGTC shown as green, light on TC green, but no TM backup run ... "backup disc not available."

I am unable to stream video and I lose connection frequently. Ive tried it using wireless connection and with ethernet. Ive tried using the O2 router (%series) as a modem for the extreme, Ive tried using the O2 without the extreme - not poss to extend network but MUCH faster, and Ive tried using a variety of other routrers and modems. My flat is 10m x 6m, there are no other wireless devices within or immediately adjoining except for my wireless landline phone that I have changed three times. Every single piece of my home network has been to the genius bar at least three times and the entire network with all devices has been taken twice. Genius bar have found either no fault or no explanation. Applecare dont seem able to tie their own shoe laces and have been worse than useless, suggesting things like checking a plug fuse (good advice but not relevant). I met a chap socially who turned out to be an apple employee home networking specialist. He offered to look at it and came to my flat. I quote him now: "F**k me, its just not supposed to do tha., Theres something seriously wrong with the system. It's an Apple problem completely". However, despite repeated requests I have not been invited to escalate the issue beyond the genius bar. Enen though everything possible is apple (they dont make a modem for ADSL??), all I get from them is it must be the fault of something else.
PS Ive had my O2 connection checked tens of times and paid for a bt engineer to check my line 4 times.
PPS The thunderbolt display was sold to me after I refused one on the grounds that the location of my mini was more than 2 metres from the display, and the salesperson reassured me that the thunderbolt connection was universally available and that would have no problem connecting the display to my mini 5 metres away.
I may well not be too bright when it comes to computers, but with their attitude of there being NO SUCH THING AS A BAD/FAULTY APPLE PRODUCT, ONLY SILLY CUSTOMERS WHO HAVENT WORKED OUT HOW TO USE THEM YET, I wish I will soon see their brand will rot in commercial oblivion ****. I have focused this on home netwrking but that is the tip of the iceberg. Open Console in Utilities & see if there are any clues or repeating messages when this connection drop happens. -
Can't establish a sftp connection with the finder
Hi, I'm trying to establish a sftp connection with the finder (using the "Connect to server" feature) between my (recently purchased) Mac Mini (mid 2011: i5, 2.3 GHz, 2 GB, running 10.7.3) and a Debian Testing box and I can't, I get the following error:
'There was a problem connecting to the server "ip.address"
This file server will not allow any additional users to log on. Try to connect again later.'
However if I try establishing a connection from the terminal (either ssh or sftp) it works flawlessly:

I've searched for a fix or alternative on the internet and I haven't found one that works; The one that keeps coming up is to try: "ftps" as the protocol instead of "sftp" with the remaining information the same (it doesn't work, it gets the same error message afterwards).
The IP address and login information works (corroborated by the fact that I can log in from the terminal from the Mac Mini) so the only issue is with the finder capabilities for establishing the connection. I have looked for apple related documentation or How Tos but I haven't found anything useful.
I don't want to use any third party app or tweak because of the sensitive information that is going to be transfered, I would like to be using strictly the tools from the OS.
If you need any more information please let me know, any help is deeply appreciated.I have the same issue although i kind of fixed it. I have two admin accounts and one of the account's safari did the same thing as yours, except, it was the startpage and everypage i tried to visit. I reseted safari, as in the erase all data safari in the toolbar, safari-Reset Safari... But safari still didn't work. I logged out and went to my other account and opened safari. Now it works fine on both accounts. This meant safari had to logout before actually working better. I have this a few times these days.

MaxxReboot the TC.. it sometimes gets lost on the network.. are you still actually using 10.6.8 as the problem is more prevalent on Lion and ML it seems is no better.
You might find reset of the TC is needed. change the names to short, no spaces pure alphanumeric.
Reset the TM to the new name.. use the A4 in Pondini's great KB.

My time machine backup has stopped working. I received an error message that is not one listed on the support page: "Unable to complete backup. An error occurred while creating the backup folder." I am on a new MacBook pro running Mountain Lion and using a 1 TB Passport drive as a time machine backup. Running DiskUtility finds no problem on the Passport.

Hello, I've just bought a Mac compatible Passport Air external hard drive, which is supposed to be compatible with the OS I am using (Mountain Lion) but I keep getting an error message saying Unable to complete backup. An error occurred while creting the backup folder. I've tried all the help suggestions, but nothing with this actual message comes up - it appears to be partititioned correctly etc, so don't know what I'm doing wrong - any help would be greatly appreciated thank you.
Were you not plugged in via USB to begin with?
I would recommend performing some resets just to be on the safe side. Unplug the external HD, and try these steps:

I am getting error while enabling the WCF-Custom receive location:
MSDTC encountered an error (HR=0x80000171) while attempting to establish a secure connection with system
I found solution over internet for regarding the above issue which was suggested that NETWORK SERVICE is not having required permission. Used subinacl with the following command (on Command prompt with elevated mode)
subinacl /service msdtc /grant="Network Service"=QSETIL
But the same resulted in error: Last Failed: msdtc - OpenService Error : 5 Access is denied.
