Firefox keep asking to open or save pdf files which are already in my disk.

Hi all,
Firefox build in function to open pdf files was working ok.
Lately when i try to open a .PDF file which is already in my disk i get a window asking me :
"What should firefox do with this file?
-Open with (firefox default)
-Save the file"
Since the .PDF is already in my disk , i want to open it but firefox keeps asking in that window so i have to cancel and a new blank tab stays there.
What should i do to open the .PDF file?
BTW,i tried to delete the mimetypes.rdf file as read on a message here in order to Reset download actions but in vain.

This is not satisfactory because i don't want to use it.I just want the internal viewer for PDF's of Firefox.

I set the pdfjs.disabled pref to true and after firefox restart it kept opening empty tabs (weird)

I did that and just keeps me asking in new tabs what to do with pdf (open or save)
Then i thought maybe another addon conflicted with firefox PDF viewer so i started it in safe mode.Tried to open a pdf and started to open empty tabs...
Finally i installed [https://addons.mozilla.org/en-us/firefox/addon/pdfjs/ this] addon and pdf open ok now.
Still i had to use an addon to make them open.
It was running correctly with out add on.
Is there something else to try since i dont want addon?
Firefox pdf internal viewer was very satisfactory for me...

When the update fails what if any error report do you get, specifically? Please do this before trying again:
Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions
Boot from your Snow Leopard Installer disc. After the installer loads select your language and click on the Continue button. When the menu bar appears select Disk Utility from the Utilities menu. After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list. In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive. If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported click on the Repair Permissions button. Wait until the operation completes, then quit DU and return to the installer.
If DU reports errors it cannot fix, then you will need Disk Warrior and/or Tech Tool Pro to repair the drive. If you don't have either of them or if neither of them can fix the drive, then you will need to reformat the drive and reinstall OS X.

I am using a SharePoint 2013 online environment and trying to search and find pdf files which are attached to a announcement list item. However it does not find anything when I search for the name of the pdf file or the content of the pdf file.
When I attach a word to the list item it gets indexed and it find the file.

Are you able to search for pdfs in other locations? SharePoint 2013 comes with an iFilter out of the box unlike 2010 which needed configuration.

Firefox keeps changing the way it handles PDF files. Why?

I have been pulling my hair out over this one. When I click on a PDF file, I'm asked for a "save" location. When I set the application option to preview PDF files, it does so until I re-start Firefox, at which point it reverts back to "Save File." It's driving me mad.

Tech support visits occasionally but for the most part it's just us fellow users.
In order to use just "save", you would have to make some changes to the pdf to be saved. If you have made no changes, can you use "Save as"?
Are these files being opened in Reader directly or are you opening them in a web browser using the Reader plug-in? What version of Reader?

While trying to merge pdf files which are having the version 1.4 throws err

As per my business need i need to merge some pdf files. Among those files some are having the version above 1.4. I am using the api "oracle.apps.xdo.jar ".
While trying to merging the pdf files its throwing the exceeption like
" oracle.apps.xdo.XDOException: oracle.apps.xdo.template.pdf.exception.FatalException: The template seems to be in either corrupted one or newer version than PDF1.4 ".
If all of the files are having the below 1.4 version then working fine. But any one of the file have above 1.4 version then it is throwing the above error.
Please can i have the solution for this problem.

Sorry.there is no option to feed again into <1.4 version. cause those documents are already existed in database and i have to use the same documents to merge.

How to read PDF files which are made using LiveCycle in VS

Can't open or save PDF files from websites from Firefox 4.0

Upgraded to FF4 recently. Now when I click on a link to a PDF in a web site to open with PDF Viewer, get an error message saying PDF Viewer could not repair file. With Adobe Reader 9.4, I get a message saying There was an error opening this document. The file is damaged and could not be repaired. No problems opening PDFs from IE9. Is this a bug in FF4? Should I go back to FF3?

I upgraded Firefox without knowing I needed to save my bookmarks, which are now lost. How can I get them back?

Basically I went to upgrade and I dragged Firefox to the applications folder (I am on a MacBook) and clicked replace old file of firefox. When I reopened my browser, I no longer had any bookmarks.

"Save Pdf File" window

I have an Access 2000 aplication which works fine with Acrobat 8.1.2 Pro
-you select a product name
-a PDF file is generated from this product's "Report"
-and it's sent by mail
It is a VBA code which stores: folder name, file name, printer name into Windows Registry
I have migrated the file to Access 2007 and now there is a problem.
It opens a "Save Pdf file" window and asks me to select a folder and to enter a file name.
Seems that name and folder retrieve from the registry is not working.
What is it? What can I do to resolve the problem? Any idea?

Do not use [[Clear Recent History]] to clear the "Site Preferences"
Clearing "Site Preferences" clears all exceptions for cookies, images, pop-up windows, software installation, and passwords.

Firefox opens when downloading PDF file while running IE9

Having problems displaying a PDF file (very low resolution & bad contrast). So I tried IE9. When I click on the link, Firefox opens to display the PDF "Swett/Sweet", even when Firefox is not running.

Other files seem to be OK. Was told by the Admin at familysearch.org that they could not duplicate the problem but were using Chrome.

Usually when you uncheck that setting, the browser will ask you whether you want to Open or Save the file. Do you get that prompt, or just nothing?
I've probably used IE9 for less than 5 minutes, so if there is something new about the way it handles PDFs compared to earlier versions, I wouldn't know.
