FF started hanging up recently so I did a complete clean uninstall including profile. then a complete clean install. I've disabled all plugins and extensions still to no avail. I just open FF and wait a few seconds with out even going to a page and I get the Beach Ball of Death, have to force quit every time. Disabled hardware accel also after reading through the forums. Nothing seems to help. Chrome and Safari work just fine.

My iTunes keeps crashing. I have uninstalled and reinstalled, including recreating the entire database, and it is still doing it. I recently upgraded to 10.5. Any ideas? I am running Windows 7 on a new, decent, laptop. The music is on the laptop's hard drive. There is plenty of hard drive space left.
iTunes starts fine, and I can do stuff, then within a minute or two or three it gives me an error message pop-up.The error message says:
iTunes has stopped working.
Windows can check nline for a solution to the problem.

How to get rid of Pac-Man sounds
Shortly after starting Firefox the "music" reminiscent of Pac-Man starts. It is only on Firefox (haven't tried Thunderbird) even following an uninstall and re-install of Firefox. Just started today. Am using XP Home SP3.
== This happened ==
Every time Firefox opened
== Only today (5/21/10) ==
== User Agent ==
Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 7.0; Windows NT 5.1; Trident/4.0; Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows NT 5.1; SV1) ; .NET CLR 1.1.4322; .NET CLR 2.0.50727; .NET CLR 3.0.04506.30; .NET CLR 3.0.04506.648)Dear Firefox:
I am not amused with the pac-man music. I spent the entire trying to find a virus on my computer. I might have tolerated this as an April Fool's joke, but this "celebration" was completely unnecessary!
And to others trying to fix the problem ... I just uninstalled Cool Previews and that did the trick. No more bat-shit-crazy pac-man music. -
Firefox keeps crashing even in safemode and with new profile.
Firefox started crashing every minute or so after a recent Windows update (coincidence). After trying the following procedures (see below), creating a new profile solves the problem until I select "Automatically add" on this page, so the problem must be related to running scripts. (it also means I can't automatically add my troubleshooting information)
These are the procedures I attempted after the problem started which did NOT fix the problem:
Uninstalled most recent Windows updates.
Disabled Networxs and Spybot.
Ran Firefox in safe mode.
Run full virus scan (Malwarebytes).
Reinstalled Firefox.
System restore to before most recent Windows updates.
System restore to last week (problem only started yesterday).
Re-reinstalled Firefox.
(note: my drivers are all up to date)
Created a new profile which this allows me to browse without crashing until (as far as I can tell) Firefox attempts to run certain scripts. In the old profile Firefox crashes within two minutes even if I do nothing except open the browser and leave it alone.
Given that the problem persisted even in safe mode the problem must not be add-on related. And since Firefox still crashes with a new profile is must not be a configuration conflict. But it also pesists after a system restore and being reinstalled, so it must be something Firefox uses outside of the profile files that isn't an add on and isn't overwritten.
I don't want to do a complete clean install because that would mean losing my history, passwords, customized add-ons (user dictionary, AdBlock scripts, NoScript allow/block list, etc.), bookmarks (I realise I can recover those), and custom about:config lines. It was working fine two days ago so it has to be something that auto-updates in the background because I have all updates (Firefox, Windows, etc.) set to manual exactly so I can avoid nasty surprises like this one.
Any help in resolving this issue so I don't have to start again from scratch and lose literally years of customization would be greatly appreciated.Note that safe mode does not disable plugins (only add-ons). The issue here is most likely a corrupt plugin. It looks like you have a lot of plugins installed, including some known to be very problematic. Specifically these ones:
NPRuntime Script Plug-in Library for Java(TM) Deploy
Questrade IQ Edge detector plugin
Citrix Online App Detector Plugin
Coupons, Inc. Coupon Printer Plugin
NPWLPG

Since a few days we have a lot of crashes with [http://www.trusteer.com/product/trusteer-rapport Trusteer Rapport]. If you have this program, try to disable it and see if that stops the crashing.<br>
You can stop Rapport using Start Menu > Programs > Trusteer Rapport > Stop Rapport<br>
You can ask their helpdesk when an updated version of their product will be made available or, if you don't need this software, uninstall it.<br>
http://www.trusteer.com/support/en/report-problem<br>
If you do not have Rapport, then we need to have a crash report ID. When you send Mozilla a crash report it just puts it in a giant database. We have no way of looking it up without the Report ID. I have no idea what is wrong without looking up the crash report. Please get the Report ID of your latest crash report.<br>

Firefox keeps crashing - especially when I have web-outlook open
Firefox crashes numerous times every day. This seems to be associated with having a tab open with outlook mail, which I use for my work email. I am not entirely sure whether this is the only trigger as it's been going on for so long now. I have reinstalled firefox, deleted my cache, updated windows, updated various things (including my graphics driver), and have uninstalled and reinstalled add-ons including adblock. It is driving me crazy. And soon I will simply have to switch to Chrome (and note - I'm posting this from Explorer as I don't trust Firefox to stay open long enough).
Last four reports today (as you'll see there have been four within an hour):

bp-c5f2c601-09d3-42bc-81f6-1df0f2130930 30/09/2013 13:16I have the same problem. Office 365 or Outlook Web App 2013 cause Firefox to consume 100% CPU on all cores and crash.

Firefox keeps crashing even after trying the suggestions in your helpful articles.
I get this error message: Firefox is having trouble recovering your windows and tabs. This is usually caused by a recently opened web page.
Firefox crashes within a few minutes of being on Internet. Most Web pages crash. I need to open multiple tabs to work, and it always crashes soon after I start to work. This began after updating to 4. I replaced 4 with the older version, but the problem keeps happening. This is part of the crash message I get, but it's crashed several times & reports aren't exactly the same. I also disabled Silverlight plugin, another recommended solution. That didn't work either.

I wanted to watch CNN live Tv on my computer and I was asked to download "The Radio TV 1.3 Community Toolbar". When I did that, a "Conduit Engine" was attached to the toolbar. I couldn't click the "finish" button because everything seized up. I could do nothing. I uninstalled Firefox and re-installed it...the Community Toolbar and Conduit engine screen popped up just by clicking anywhere on the Firefox homepage...and of course it seized up again. I tried to get help from Bell (my ISP) but they were unable to solve. Any ideas???

I cannot open emails in my university's Outlook Web App. I cannot re-open Firefox after I exit because it doesn't really close down (parts still in Task Manager which I have to end before firefox reopens.). I have downloaded installed and re-installed. I run a desktop with Windows 7 ultimate and a 64-bit machine.
Do you have the Firefox icon on your quick launch? Right click
on it, and select '''Open New Window.''' Sometimes this works.
If it opens, close it by '''Menu > File > Exit.'''
This is not a cure but will make it easier if Firefox locks up in Windows.

Both browsers seem to crash when the web page wants plug ins to access pages. Simple ones like Google's home page, or these for example, work fine. I have run several scans with security software, including Malware (latest database), and they don't find anything.
The problem began because my computer had to be sent in because it wouldnt turn on so i had to get it fixed they replaced the motherboard this was the second time the motherboard was replaced and once they did that my firefox hasnt worked the same. I can go on google chrome but thats not what i prefer to use.
& when i right click on firefox it says troubleshoot so im assuming its built in to my computer. im not sure.
I tried the profile manager to create a new profile and that has seemed to work so far. No crashing but it does freeze when i got to facebook and then i have to click ctr alt delete to open task manager to end firefox. It happened twice, the third time i went to google, then twitter and it didnt freeze. I then went to youtube and it froze. So Facebook and youtube make it freeze. Any idea why it does that?
& thank you so much for helping and responding to me. -
Firefox have been constantly crashing for the past month or so. I have already followed all the advice. I ran the sessions in safe mode and it did not crash, so it is not my add-ons. I have re-installed Firefox and also reset all the setting. Nothing helps. Firefox is my favorite browser, but if this is not fixed I will have to move to another browser.
