Firefox keeps losing password setting on my home page and i have to keep logging in all the time

Whenever I start Firefox it goes to my homepage, however it cannot remember my settings although it was saved and ticked to remember it, Even after logging it, Firefox will sort of log out of the page and I have to log in again. Thought it was my yahoo setting, tried it on explorer and do not have this problem.

* Websites remembering you and automatically log you in is stored in a cookie.
* You need an allow cookie exception (Tools > Options > Privacy > Cookies: Exceptions) to keep that cookie, especially for secure websites and if you let cookies expire when Firefox closes
* Make sure that you do not use [[Clear Recent History]] to clear the "Cookies" and the "Site Preferences"
Clearing "Site Preferences" clears all cookies, images, pop-up windows, software installation, and password exceptions.
* Make sure that you not run Firefox in (permanent) [[Private Browsing]] mode

• Everytime I close Firefox and then try to reopen it, it says that I am unable to do so as Firefox is already running (even though it's closed) and I have to restart my laptop all the time.

For about a week now when I have closed Firefox down then I try to reopen it the screen message states that Firefox is already running and I have to restart my laptop every time. This is becoming very frustrating and time-consuming.

I have the same problem on my notebook but I don't restart. Just do the control, alt, delete and bring up your task manager. Then scroll down to Firefox, end process and close. Now you should be able to restart FF. Not a fix but better than having to restart your laptop.

• I have a customized Yahoo as a home page, but while browsing, Firefox returns it to the general Yahoo home page and I have to "sign in" to get the customized page back.

I have a customized Yahoo home page which opens when I log on.
Whenever I move to the Yahoo mail, I have to "sign in" with Yahoo in order to get back to the customized Yahoo home page. I don't mind doing that when I use the Yahoo mail system, but recently, whenever I switch from FireFox to another browser, when I return to Firefox, I am returned to the Yahoo general page and I have to "sign in" to get back to the customized version of my home page.

• Why do I have to log in all the time into iCloud every time in spite of clicking the "keep me logged in" box?

why do I have to log in all the time into iCloud every time in spite of clicking the "keep me logged in" box?

It is amazing that Apple does nothing about this. It used to work before but this function (keep me logged in) stopped working a couple of months ago. Many people seem to have the same problem but Apple seems unable to solve their own problems...

• I have a problem with bookmarks, all the time when I start Firefox the bookmarks is deleted, or not there. And I need to import them again and again, also the cookies, cash are deleted.

The bookmarks, cookies, history all the time are deleted when I start Firefox and I need to import them all the time.
I have version 3.6.12

This can be a problem with the file places.sqlite that stores the bookmarks and the history.

• How do I set Firefox to ALWAYS open with my selected home page, and never show the page trying to reopen a previously opened site?

Frequently when I reopen Firefox, I am greeted with a page that wants to reopen a previously viewed site. I '''never''' want this page to come up when I open Firefox. I only want the home page to open. If I want to revisit a site, I will personally go there the normal way. This is a feature of Firefox that could just as well be permanently removed. How do I change the settings in Foxfire so I always get what I want when I open Foxfire?

Clear the cache and the cookies from sites that cause problems.
"Clear the Cache":
*Firefox/Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Cached Web Content: "Clear Now"
"Remove Cookies" from sites causing problems:
*Firefox/Tools > Options > Privacy > Cookies: "Show Cookies"
You can remove all data stored in Firefox from a specific domain via "Forget About This Site" in the right-click context menu of an history entry ("History > Show All History" or "View > Sidebar > History") or via the about:permissions page.
Using "Forget About This Site" will remove all data stored in Firefox from that domain like bookmarks, cookies, passwords, cache, history, and exceptions, so be cautious and if you have a password or other data from that domain that you do not want to lose then make a note of those passwords and bookmarks.
You can't recover from this 'forget' unless you have a backup of the affected files.
It doesn't have any lasting effect, so if you revisit such a 'forgotten' website then data from that website will be saved once again.

• My opening page won't load the home page even though I set it to home page in preferences. Instead it always opens to the last page I had when I last closed. I'd like it to open to my home page. I've tried dumping and reloading Safari, I have 5.1.2.

My Safari 5.1.2 Just won't open to my home page even though I have it set in preferences. It continues to open on the last page I was on when I last closed Safari. What overrides my settings in preferences?

I just purchased my first MAC after working on PC for the past 25 years and would like to know how to keep my safari program to be the full screen everytime I get into the app. I always have to click the two arrows to the top right of the safari program but on a PC it is always opened in full screen mode ??? and while I have you plugged in how do you make it so that the manu bar does not go away (hyernate??)
Cheers

• I can't get it to set a blank home page, and the instructions given for this don't work.

The instructions say that if you want a blank home page, you should open a new tab, then click on the icon to the left of the space where the website name would be and drag it to the Home icon. Unfortunately, when I click on that icon, I can't grab and move it.

Instructions work for me that you describe from
* https://support.mozilla.com/kb/How%20to%20set%20the%20home%20page
perhaps drag the mouse a little faster.
You could just just use '''about:blank''' as your home page

• When I open a link in a new tab, most of the time it opens to the bottom of the page, and I have to scroll back up to the top or hit the Home key.

When reading a web page, I will right-click on a link and select 'open link in new tab' and most of the time it will open the new page right at the bottom. I then have to scroll up with the mouse or hit the 'home' button on my keyboard to get back to the top of the page. I've already looked at the tab settings in the options menu, and there's nothing there that seems to apply.

Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).

• Firefox crashes several minutes after opening every time I use it. I think Firefox was updated shortly before this started. Uninstalling and reinstalling have not helped. Updating all plug-ins has also had no effect. Would appreciate help fixing this.

Browser starts out working normally but within a few minutes it freezes, stops responing and I have to close it using Task Manager. When I open Task Manager, it shows two Firefox programs running with different icons even though I only opened one window.

iTunes saves out a new copy of the entire library file every time a change is made to the library. This is not new behavior.
The slowdowns I have seen like this have ususally been caused by:
A virus
or
Some anti-virus software is incorrectly interpreting the rewriting of the file and is causing a problem.
Either way, you should definitely update your anti-virus software and definitions to the latest, and run a full scan of your system. If that does not help, you may want to recreate your iTunes library.

Standard uninstall instructions are unavailable. add and remove programming is also unavailable. It isn't shown in add-ons either.

Hello,
If you had installed infoaxe, uninstalling it from your browser is extremely easy. For firefox, Go to Tools->Addons->Infoaxe Firefox Toolbar. Now click on uninstall and restart your browser.
You can reset your browser homepage by going to Tools -> Options in Firefox and Tools -> Internet Options in Internet Explorer.

You can use the SearchReset extension to reset some preferences to the default values.
Note that the SearchReset extension only runs once and then uninstalls automatically, so it won't show on the "Firefox > Add-ons" page (about:addons).
