FireFox keeps on crashing & freezing when I am in the middle of viewing content on a certain site like http://affiliate-resources.info for information to use, it drives me nut!
I love using FireFox as my default browser, but lately, with it always & constantly updating itself to new version that, I don't see any improvement, but only bring headaches and pissed me off especially in the middle of checking out something online and all of a sudden, everything just freezes, and the only way for me to continue was to run my CTRL+alt+DELETE button to stop the running of FireFox because it is not responding.
This really sucks. I have been using FireFox as my default browser for years, and I do think that it's the best browser in the world, but man, I sure wish the people at mozilla.org would stop updating FireFox to become a non-working-browser. I just don't see it got any better, but only got worser!
The best FireFox version, to me, was FireFox 3.6 version. I loved using it, but it's not available anymore.
Is there a way I can continue to use FireFox 3.6?
Thanks.
It is possible to install and run Firefox 3.6, but it is not advisable as it is out of date and not secure. If you are doing webdesign you will presumably mainly wish to test the latest versions of Firefox rather than an insecure version that is used but only a very small minority of users.
* see Install an older version of Firefox <br/>(The article cautions against use of previous versions, but then provides a download link)
* you may also be interested in Common questions after upgrading from Firefox 3.6
If you suffer from crashes see
* Firefox crashes - Troubleshoot, prevent and get help fixing crashes
If you have corporate users as clients they may be using Firefox ESR which has a longer period between major upgrades

My firefox keeps on crashing. So i decided to reinstall Windows XP install all drivers and update them but unfortunately firefox keeps on crashing.
I've tried all the theories on Firefox to solve it but still it keeps on crashing. This happens any time.
If i can't solve this i don't see no further options to make Chrome my default browser.

Firefox keeps on crashing, - 4 times in an hour! Please help
Recently upgraded to 4.0b6 and Firefox keeps on crashing. It starts out by getting progressively slower and slower, then freezing for a few seconds, then just crashes and all tabs close. On restart everything is mostly saved and I can continue working, but it's impossible to work this way. I doesn't seem linked to any specific site/action.
I have spent a fortune on technician to find malware/viruses and optimise my laptop, but it doesn't seem to help.7th Cash......

My Firefox keeps on crashing; it doesn’t seem to matter what I do it seems. I’ve tried deselecting the “Enable hardware acceleration” for the flash player plugin but it still crashes especially when watching videos on YouTube but it generally happens everywhere. Hello,
Some problems with Flash video playback can be resolved by disabling hardware acceleration in your Flash Player settings. (See this article for more information on using the Flash plugin in Firefox).
To disable hardware acceleration in Flash Player:
#Go to this Adobe Flash Player Help page.
#Right-click on the Flash Player logo on that page.
#Click on Settings in the context menu. The Adobe Flash Player Settings screen will open.
# Click on the icon at the bottom-left of the Adobe Flash Player Settings window to open the Display panel. <br/> <br/> <br/>
# Remove the check mark from Enable hardware acceleration.
# Click Close to close the Adobe Flash Player Settings Window.
# Restart Firefox.
This Flash Player Help - Display Settings page has more information on Flash Player hardware acceleration, if you're interested.
Does this solve the problem? Let us know. -

Hey earburr,
There are a couple of Knowledge Base articles that might help you. First, I would suggest you take a look at Firefox crashes. This is a general troubleshooting article for crashes. Next, I'd suggest you look at The Adobe Flash plugin has crashed. This one is specific to the Flash plugin crash that you mentioned.
Hopefully this helps! -
Why does Firefox keep hanging, crashing, sulking, dying when internet connection behaves? Once it renders the page it should forget about the page. Why does it behave when some link is clicked when there is no internet? It should just say internet not available or some crap. Why die, sulk, crash?? I don't get it! 3 series was much much much better!
I should add, I've re-downloaded Firefox, but that doesn't look like it has helped any. Still get seemingly inexplicable crashes.

# Question
Firefox 3.6.10 on Windows 7 crashes when I try to reset the master password using chrome://pippki/content/resetpassword.xul. Is there an alternate way of resetting the master password? You can delete the 2 files that contain password details, they will be re-created automatically. First open the profile folder, for details of how to find it see the profiles article. Now close Firefox and delete key3.db and signons.sqlite. If there are files called signons.txt, signons2.txt and signons3.txt you can delete those as well, they are from earlier versions of Firefox.

Firefox keeps saving my tabs from several months ago - the same tabs! Even though I close them, the next time I restart, there they are. I was using a previous version of FF, now upgraded to 6 and same thing is happening.
Thanks for the reply. I never get the option to "Restore Previous History" from History. I don't even have the box checked that asks to delete the history when Firefox closes. I don't know what's wrong, no matter what, I always lose everything. I have the box marked "Show my windows and tabs from last time" for when I open Firefox, but it never shows that, just my homepage. Also, when I check my History, it only shows the pages that I opened since I started Firefox, nothing from before. Even if I were to open up 10 pages now, close Firefox, and open it, the history would only show the homepage that opened this time, not any of the 10 pages that I opened 5 minutes ago.

Do a malware check with several malware scanning programs on the Windows computer.
Please scan with all programs because each program detects different malware.
All these programs have free versions.

I think it's flash related, but i'm not sure. it doesn't crash/freeze completely, it just suddenly out of nowhere becomes excruciatingly slow, never did this before todays update
Boot into the Recovery Drive by holding down Command R when restarting.
Run Repair Drive and Repair Permissions using Disk Utility in Recovery.
Restart and run the combo updater.
OS X Mavericks 10.9.5 Update (Combo)
http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1760
However, you might need to reinstall OS X in the Recovery Drive. This process should not damage your data but it's always advised that you backup first.
If you don't have a clone backup it's time to start. Just like a seat belt and an air bag protect you in different ways when driving, you need both Time Machine and a clone for full protection.
Both of these applications can be used to create a clone. You will need an external drive to backup your data.
SuperDuper! http://www.shirt-pocket.com/
CCC http://www.bombich.com/download.html
Free space: It suggested you have a minimum of 10% free but this can vary depending on the size of the drive. When you get below 10GB free you need to start moving files off the drive.
You can keep your iPhoto and iTunes Libraries on an external drive. Hold down the option key when launching the app to point to the new library location. -
Why my Firefox keeps lagging and freezing when scrolling on Facebook?
When scrolling through Facebook it keeps lagging and freezing for a few seconds, and when it happens it says "Connecting..." on the tab title. It keeps happening while I'm scrolling in the Facebook page, and if I leave the tab with Facebook working all Firefox looks a little laggy.
I've tried some possible solutions here in the support but it keeps happening.
It doesn't happen with others browser, such as Chrome. Many site issues can be caused by corrupt cookies or cache.

Why does my Firefox keep randomly crashing?
I run windows 7, 32 bit pro.
I use a website that keeps randomly crashing, about 5x a day.
There seems no obvious reason for it.

* Or open the Help menu and click on the Restart with Add-ons Disabled... menu item while Firefox is running.
*Once you get the pop-up, just select "'Start in Safe Mode"

Adobe Premiere Keeps on Crashing/Freezing
When I'm editing in Adobe Premiere using:
iMac, 27-inch, late 2013
OS 10.8.5
3.5Ghz Intel i7
8 GB 1600 MHZ DDR3
NVIDIA GEFORCE GTX 780M 4096MB
I encounter the following issues:
I open up Premiere, Render my project - it freezes and crashes. A hard reboot is the only solution.
I will also encounter the spinning wheel of death/computer freezes while I'm editing a project.
I barely have anything open.
What can be the cause of this? It's delaying my workload and causing huge issues with distribution.
Thank You.Uninstall Reader 9.4 and try the latest Adobe Reader X (10.0).
If you still have problems, please state your operating system and version.
